I totally agree with your view of Mantha and AA and i can absolutly understand that some people like AA more just because he is the more exciting player. You need both types of players on your team anyway and I´m more than happy we have both. The only thing I am/was not happy about, was the direction it took since yesterday, where it was not just looking for pros and cons, it started to get personnel to a certain extend, which is just unnecessary.

I would be all in for a player that would help us right now, but does our team change to the better now when we trade for a player like risto? He is still a work in progress, so basically almost the same as our prospects, and we would loose core players for him. No point in doing that, because there wouldn´t be an roster improvement. Further do we have too many defensemen without trade value signed for this year. Unless you get him for our "spare" 2nd and 3rd picks and/or a prospect, I can´t see any value in doing so.

I wouldn´t even think about trading Mantha, he will be a force for years to come, AA can create something out of nothing, he had a good year, but if there is a question of whom of the two, I would definetly trade AA before Mantha. But to be honest, I think we shouldn´t part with any of them. I remember an interview with Dylan Larkin, a few months after he came in where he said, that it would be great to lead the team back to a contender with AA and Mantha, that the three have the chance to build something special and the day he said it, I somehow believed in his words. Give the team one more year of development, growth from within and stop thinking about overpaid free agents or trading core players. Our pipelines are refilled, promising prospects are on the way. There was a strech of 15-20 games, where we were one of the best teams in the league and hopefully this year we don´t have as many injuries as last year. And with all these ifs and should and would we will have a good season and hopefully are at least close to the playoffs. Get a few extra picks at deadline day and with all our extra picks trade for the missing pieces.

I´m really interested in the Rangers asking price for Trouba now, because they will have a few difficult decisions to make with the signings of Buchnevich,Trouba and Deangelo still due and 8 million in cap space. It is possible, if Kronner returns, that he ends up in GR, same for Hronek. Unless one of them has a real strong training camp, i think they keep them in GR until there are injuries or we are out of the playoffs and after the deadline should be plenty of room for them. But who knows...

you forgot to mention that Seider played 5 games at the WC against NHLers and played real strong. Stayed very calm, very good decision making and awareness, hard to get off the puck. The first 18 year old d-man to score two goals at a WC in more than 40 years. He is a down to earth guy, knowing about his strenghts and weaknesses.
