You are probably right, but non of these coaches would have spend a second to think about coaching the Wings in the state they were in and you can´t say for certain that they would be able to do so with a crap team. With the team now it´s a whole different story. It´s also a possibility that AA and Mantha are just the way they are under any coach.

Blash is for sure not the best coach the world has seen but these examples are probably not the best. Mrazek was up and down in his last season and KH was reluctant to pay the $4m QO but he played well under Blash in general AHL and NHL. The issues with Mantha and AA already started in GR and they were both not able to change anything. AA still too lazy defensively and Mantha never managed to get any consistency in his performances aka floating. You can say the players attitudes didn´t really fit Blash´s "system" but is it his fault if they don´t change? Yzerman came into the league as a scoring machine and was asked to change his game for the good of the team. Team players do that, they change their habits if necessary. AA and Mantha didn´t, they put in a good effort every now and then. Look at Seider and Raymond, they are winners, laser focus and prepared to do whatever it takes. Was it the same watching AA and Mantha? Is that Blash or them?

We came up 2 inches short. Turn the two posts in goals and it´s an easy win. We played good for 52minutes, then started to lose structure a bit and because of a lack of effort to skate these two feet and avoid an icing, we gave them the momentum to win the game. Totally unnecessary loss. Leddy is still our best LHD and you won´t see the swedes in Detroit before TC next year. I´m more concerned about DK and his lack of strength and his pussiness. He looks like he´s trying to avoid to hurt his opponents, a little soft shove here, a gentle push there. The only thing that´s missing is that he´s apologizing for doing so.

He does these things, but it´s not constantly bad what he does. Most of the time he´s playing it the right way and will be rewarded at some point. He scored against Dallas and maybe he gets another one against Arizona. He needs some confidence in his offense and his linemates as well. They do a good job defensively but the puck´s not really going in for any of them. If he finds his confidence he will be 2nd line wing, if not I agree with you.

your typical twisting of facts, I never said we had to re-sign Gagner, I said he´s better suited than Svech for a bottom six role again, you will not find a page where I say Blash is a good coach, what I say is that to me it´s not Blash´s fault that Svech is just a replaceable player, as was Sheahan or Cholowski. All Holland first round picks that didn´t work out here and obviously don´t work out somewhere else. Celebrating Svech for a goal and 5 secondary assists on the 2nd line on a better team than ours does not mean Blash messed up his development. It just shows he needs good players around him to grab a point here and there and we need players who make a difference and not bottom 6 players.

obviously not Svech is not good defensively, so he can´t replace a Helm or Gagner and he´s not good offensively, so he couldn´t find a place on the second line. And he´s gone, which is the most important thing. If you want to discuss the qualities of Svech and share your thoughts on him with people who are interested visit a Jets board. although it me be a good idea if you tell us why exactly we should have kept him and what his strenghts are, because I didn´t see anything worth keeping.

Gagner was a bit of a Glendening replacement, right handed shot, able to play center, good defensively, good on the pk and veteran presence, non of these traits are displayed by Svech. You can argue we could have kept Svech instead of signing Rowney but there might be reasons we don´t know of that lead to what happened. And do you really want to make us believe that we would be any better with Svech?

The players in the NHL are not that much bigger than the players in the SHL. You can´t compare the SHL with the AHL where mostly young prospects play. I don´t think that the physical aspect will play a role in him playing NHL or not. He´s well prepared physically.
