It's cute how they always claim their beer is superior... They're all nasty pagans and heretics who worship the old gods like the Queen of England and Wayne Gretsky. Replace bacon with boobs and I think you're on the right track -

Who gets fired first John Hynes or Peter Deboer? Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau are gonna retire without cups lol And that's what they get for mildly upsetting me from 2010-2011 -

Luckily our cap space should really open up this off season. Even if Athanasiou/Bertuzzi/Mantha get big raises, we should be looking at somewhere between $7-$12 mil in cap space after most of our RFA's are re-signed. If Athanasiou goes we're talking about potentially another $3-$5 mil on top of that. Yzerman will have room to play. I don't think anyone with a a big name will want to come here still, but I would take a hard look at Markstrom, Krug, and Namestnikov if I was in Yzerman's shoes. Our old friend Mattias Janmark might also be out there. -

Fersure. Part of me also thinks it also won't be straight player for picks trades with Yzerman this year. That he may do stuff like the Jensen trade last year where it involves a player coming back. Like: To somewhere: Athanasiou, Coming back: pick + Erne/Perlini type player (maybe in a different position) Would like to see Yzerman do something to address goaltending as well. Howard is still acceptable, but he'll be 36 this year and should start transitioning into a split time or backup role sooner than later. Not a huge fan of Bernier personally, but we are probably stuck with him next year. Just talking out loud, but I would be fine re-signing Howie on another 1 year contract. Riding Howard/Bernier one more year after this, with Larsson as the starter in GR next year. But after that wtf do we do? Howard will be 37 and Bernier (should) will be gone. I guess the hope is 23 year old Larsson + 37 year old Howard for 2021/22. But that could be amazing or a disaster. Alternatively, we can let Howard walk this year and chase Markstrom in FA this summer. This may be the best bet at a FA goalie, as the Canucks may opt to lean on Thatcher Demko after this season and let Marklstrom go. As of now I don't see a better option coming available in the 2021 offseason. Re-sign Howard, sign Markstrom, and trade Bernier would be my ideal, but probably not feasible. Agreed. There were a lot of sticks in passing lanes disrupting the oilers passes last night. It's something simple you shouldn't have to mention, but with this team it was nice to see. -

I guess my hope is a scenario like last year. We play the crap out of Helm (Nyquist) and Green (Jensen) and whoever else. They get traded at the deadline, some kids come up, then the team comes together and builds some playoff heartbreaker swagger in the spring. If Helm continues to do ok to well on the top line, I'm sure at least one team will notice and think "Could this be the Patrick Eaves type player we can play on our Benn/Seguin Getzlaf/Perry line?" -

Ignore the lack of funding for social services, bloated military spending, endless wars, and political and economic corruption by the senators and patricians. THE PEOPLE NEED THEIR GAMES! To our northern border there is a frigid wasteland full of unwashed brutish peoples called Canadium. We must subjugate it into an American province before winter comes. For the glory of the states! pic unrelated -

Last year I moved into a new place, in a neighborhood that I totally expected to get trick or treaters at. None. So much candy I had to eat. This year no candy. Watch like 100 kids show up. I will shut off the lights and hide in my own home if I have to. Didn't wanna be that guy, but society has molded me this way now... -

I mean call me a dirty libertarian, but let the Wings leave. Call their bluff. They won't go. If they did I would 100% walk and be done with the team. Good luck in Houston or wherever they go. I would think the NHL would have some strong words for an original six team thinking of relocating. -

You're not wrong. I just see the problem as lying with the government. I operate a side business on top of my day job. Of course I would accept tax payer money to cover my startup or overhead costs. Free money is free money. If the government is dumb enough to give it to me that's on them. -

Just saying I think Mike only cared about money his whole life. His whole family was a mess outside of Chris. Just speculating though. I don't think I know enough about what actually went down with the Detroit District stuff. -

I briefly met Chris Illitch's brother (the one who died a few years ago, can't remember his name at the moment) at a house party about 10 years ago. He was childhood friends with the home owner. He pulled up in lambo in a quiet suburban neighborhood in metro Detroit. Whipped out a joint within 10 minutes of being in the home. Let me sit in his lambo. Left to score coke after about an hour. Didn't even talk to me about the Wings. Pretty clear he had been a degenerate playboy his entire life. Kinda sad, but also fun. Scummy fersure though. -

Would have been 3. History of winning I guess I should have Philly on my list too, can't think of any others that fit well. -

I mean personally I blame Detroit (the city government) Is anyone really surprised that the company/family that owns Little Caesars $5 pizzas is scumming their way to pinch pennies and save a buck? It's kind of expected. They're just pressing the advantage given to them. And then I look at the bigger picture (the city of Detroit and how it's run) and I'm not at all surprised they were able to swindle their way into basically doing anything they want. Detroit has been a poorly run s*** pit for decades. And history says that wont change. -

In all seriousness I'd say sports cities: 1. Boston 2. Detroit Criteria being: 1. Have all 4 major NA sports teams 2. No extra teams that split the city (like the Islanders or White Sox) -
