God if I had the option to sign a 10 year work contract and get paid 90% of it within the first few years, I would totally "throw my back out" or "become allergic to desks" the day I hit the 90% mark. Granted playing hockey is actually fun, but s*** if I was Zberg I would have retired at like 33 at 50% of the cash and checked into the deja vu for my remaining years of life. He's a better man than me.

I really would be shocked if the Mrazek to Edmonton rumors were true. I almost find it more plausible that Yzerman signs him and he comes back to Detroit. Holland had to deal with his supposed prima donna drama. Go through that bitter contract dispute, which Holland lost and Mrazek got awarded $4 mil or something... only to start sucking right after being awarded it. So Holland has to get creative and dump a $4 million AAV contract that he didn't even want to give out. On top of that he had to tell his long-time starter in Howard, oh you're the back up now, and oh I might trade you, wait actually you're #1 again and we loved you the whole time lol and please re-sign on a short contract for the team please. Talk about a headache. If I was Holland I'd just avoid. From Mrazek's POV as well it doesn't make much sense to me. If he was causing drama in Detroit, I'm sure he didn't think it was his own fault, drama starters rarely do, and who knows maybe some of it was justified IDK. Also this is the guy who didn't wanna pay you what you felt you were owed and traded you when it came down to Howard or Mrazek. For a goalie who's just coming back from a very rough two year stretch and getting his career back on track, just doesn't seem like a wise choice IMO. If I was Mrazek I'd just avoid Holland. That said, I have no idea what the market on goalies looks like. Maybe it's a fit by necessity for both?

Bobrovsky in NYC today Rangers have a $8.5 a year, 37 year old Lundqvist for two more seasons and could afford Bob. Lehner was a great story for the Isles, but he is UFA and Bob could be a huge upgrade. They can also more than afford him.

Count me out on Methot. He always benefited from being Karlsson's partner (a role he played well). Without a high flyer to pair him with he's just another version of Trevor Daley or Jon Ericsson in my mind. He's slowing down by injury and at the nature of being 34/35 as well. I know the plan for expansion here in Seattle is not just to retrofit the KeyArena. There's also plans to add at least 5 more rinks around the city. Right now I live basically downtown and have to drive about 30 minutes outside of the city to get to the nearest rink. I know they did this same plan when they expanded in Dallas. Build the rinks and they will come. Equipment is just so expensive, especially for kids who outgrow it every year. A lot less pricey to just push your kid into basketball.
