Who will score more goals to end the season, Larkin or AA?

I was happy to watch him breech 40, thrilled to have him breech 50. I said going into this season it would be a big one for AA career wise. He absolutely stepped it up and shined when it came time to. I need one more year of solid growth out of him, as I think this next season will define who he is as a player. If he can get to 60-70 pts next year, which I think he can, it would be huge. I expect him to spend serious time as a top 6 center, and I want to see his passing game take off in that role. 35-40 goals and 30-40 assists would be very welcome. He may very well earn the 3rd A if he does that.
  2. So you're expectation is that we all freakout in a negative manner over the win? I get that you're looking toward the future my dood, but I genuinely enjoy watching hockey and I genuinely enjoy watching my team win. I know that these wins hurt our lottery chances, but that's not gonna stop me from enjoying a Red Wings game. Winning is inherently fun, and me being doomy n gloomy about it instead isn't going to change anything. I'm always happy to see my boys get a W. The day I'm not is the day I stop watching Wings hockey. Remember when we talked about strawmen earlier today? Absolutely no one is saying any of this, let alone going crazy over it. We all very much expect to be a bad team again next year, and certainly not a team that gives others a run for their money. My man, if a Red Wings win brings this much negativity and anxiety to your life, you need to seriously reconsider your relationship with the sport and the team. Sports are about fun and entertainment. If you're not entertained by your team winning in such a dominant fashion there's something wrong.
  3. You're absolutely correct. Winning hurts our chances at the lottery. It does. So now where would you like to go from here? Like what would make you happy? If we all declared that winning = bad and told the Wings to stop it? If so, I'll bravely start WINNING IS BAD. WINGS STOP WINNING. Well, I've done my part, but I encourage everyone to post the same thing at least once, so the Wings realize it's time to stop winning again. Now that that's outta the way, how bout them Mantha goals? I told you he was a Franzen. Also Hirose has evolved... the apples no longer satiate him...
  4. You and @nyqvististhefuture are both entitled to your opinions, I'm just confused with what your expectations are. Like are you trying to convince us all to boo the team? If so, why? Lets pretend all 20 of us, or however many of us there are in this thread, sat at home and booed every time the Red Wings scored. Does anything change? Does Mantha suddenly not score the hatty because the boys on LGW are cheering for him to lose? Fact is, we all know losing is better for our odds at the lottery, if only slightly. But nothing I do is gonna change what happens on the ice. We are powerless observers. So personally I'd rather enjoy the win. It's been a longgggg season of more losing. It's very nice to go out on an upbeat like this. Especially with a team of almost entirely of prospects. I'm really hoping these young guys take this confidence into the off-season this summer and hit the ground running in the fall. So I guess I'm kinda giving you the glass half full glass half empty lecture. You can sit at home and go "Oh no, oh no, this is bad, this is bad for our top 3 pick chances" but it won't help at all. It should go without saying, but you're gonna have a hard time asking any hardcore fan to ever cheer against their team.
  5. Players keep playing despite draft position. Fans still enjoy watching their team win despite draft position. It's messed up, but that's clownworld. Honk honk
  6. It's like they think the results will be different if we all stop cheering for the team lol

  11. It's scary how young that lineup is. Helm is the old goat of that forward lineup by far. Kronwall be out there like: Veteran of a forgotten era

No, Larkin would have ended up a good player anywhere. But Jeff deserves credit for all the faults of his team and all the bright spots. It's his team. He's measured by the success's of Larkin and the short comings of Mantha. The pastabilities are endless...

Literally no one is saying that. This is what I'm talking about with the strawmen. You're not on twitter right now I tend to agree with you, but I think if the rebuild goes well the next 2 years I think the Red Wings will give Blashill at least an opportunity to win with his team. If he fails he'll probably be out. If the team takes steps backwards and young players don't move forward over the next 2 years, he'll probably be out.

You're just strawmaning anyone's opinion that isn't fire Blashill now.

Who will score more goals to end the season, Larkin or AA?

AA gets lots of breakaways and gets more goals that way Nyquist plays better in the cycle, makes his teammates better by setting people up, and actually plays defense

What praise is he actually getting though? Most opinions seem to be along the lines of "Blashill is pretty meh, but it doesn't really make sense to fire him right now, and the kids are alright" You obviously feel very strongly about firing Blashill, but most of us don't feel strongly one way or the other. Personally I wouldn't fire him right now, but if he got fired I'd be like "oh, ok, wonder who we're gonna hire" Nobody just started liking him 2 weeks ago and nobody is heaping him with praise.

Confirmed, Larkin > AA and Nyquist > AA

I would have picked Nyquist going into this season, but now I'd pick AA. Still pretty close though. I can see an argument for Nyquist.
