Yeah the problem is Johnny played good Islander up until the moment he signed with the Leafs. I legitimately believe the Isles thought he was most likely going to re-sign. Hence why he wasn't traded. And John may very well have wanted to re-sign up until the final days, I keep hearing that it was his agent is the one who pushed hard for him to join the Leafs. But in the end he sat on the fence, and the Isles lost something for nothing. He shoulda made up his mind at the TDL IMO

First year in Division 1 he has 3 pts in 16 games. Not a lot to take away. It's impressive that he's in division 1 at 18 years old but he's not a go to guy or anything.

If his contract ends before the draft, you gotta think Tampa has been smart enough to keep Yzerman in the dark on scouting the entire season anyway. -

I am curious whether Yzerman's contract with Tampa extends through the 2019 draft or not. My understanding is that most staff contracts end about the same time the season ends or sometime between the end of the season and FA, but I am in no way 100% positive on that. My question being: Will Yzerman be advising Holland at the draft or Brisebois? How it feels to chew 5 gum -

I generally like the way Holland plays the game for better and for worse, and that being said, I still wanna see how Yzerman would run this team. Holland can't do this forever, and Yzerman seems to be an A quality GM. I'd pull trigger.
