3/2 I Don't Like Sand GDT - Red Wings @ Coyotes - 8:00 PM ET

We can be worse than this COME ON BOIS -
Do you have an English version?

Imagine if Matthews bolted to go play for the Rangers or something in a few years. Toronto would probably act exactly the same way I imagine. Like everyone's been saying, I enjoy when fans get involved and are passionate about their team. It's some good drama. At the end of the day we're the ones paying all the bills, we are allowed to not like stuff and ***** about it.

Question, is Bob Evans the greatest restaurant of all time? -
Anybody got an opinion on Byram v. Broberg?

Was bored, so decided to check up on some of our prospects. We might have a diamond in the rough with this kid. He's 6'3" 195 lbs, plays both wing and C, just turned 20 in January, and was selected with our last pick in the 7th (197th overall) After the draft Hakan described him as a powerforward with a ton of offensive upside. He also said he's most comparable to Logan Brown, who was the big PWF a lot of teams were gunning for in the draft last year that went to Ottawa at 11th overall. Elfstrom did not appear on the NHL's CSS rankings at all in his draft year, and Andersson also stated that no other teams appeared to know about him. Yet Andersson himself had him ranked in his top 10 European players in that draft class, and was urging the Wings to take Elfstrom sooner than the 7th round. This year Elfstrom notched 43 pts in 36 pts GP (including 18 goals) for his Swedish team. A nice step up from 31 pts in 43 GP (11 goals) in his draft year. Perhaps this is a kid we should start talking about.

I identify as an elderly black woman. It's all good brother. This is a progressive board. -
I dunno if you even need to say that. Pettersson is unreal good. Much better than Hirschier and Patrick.

Ottawa Senators are trying "European style" supporter sections
ChristopherReevesLegs replied to frankgrimes's topic in General
I know you're being sarcastic, but I'll answer seriously. The Canadian market is already captured and saturated. The NHL has ZERO desire to expand in Canada. If the Senators went bankrupt tomorrow (which somehow wouldn't surprise me at this point) and the team folded, that market would be instantly swallowed up by Toronto & Detroit, and maybe some Sens fans would become Buffalo or Montreal fans too. Canadians already watch hockey. You don't need more teams to convince them. Adding a team in Quebec City wouldn't create new/more hockey fans, it would simply cannibalize existing Montreal fans. America on the other hand does not watch hockey. Even hockey dominant markets like Michigan, Minnesota, and the north east are still predominantly NBA and NFL markets. America also has a boat ton more people in general. The NHL doesn't care about what market fans consider "traditional" they care about selling their product to new people and growing their market share. The U.S. is where they can do that. -
In terms of goalies, Larsson (20) is having a great first season in college Van Pottelberghe (21) is having a great season in the Swiss league Petruzzelli (20) seems to be at least finding his was in college and is having an improved season after falling on his face a bit in his first year Eliasson (18) is still in Swedish juniors, but he is doing well there Brattstrom (21) has split time between Division 1 and Division 2. In the former league he's struggled, but in the later he's been completely dominant. Rybar is also playing very well for Grand Rapids this year One of these mofos is gonna work out

Update on Elfstrom: This is his first year playing a full season in Division 1 in Sweden. The kid is currently exactly a point per game and is 4th in scoring for his team as a 22 year old. Very good year for him so far. I would expect the Wings want him coming to NA soon.

College Free Agent Market Hirose might win the Hobey Baker and he attended the Red Wings development camp last year. Goes without saying we probably have the inside track on him. The article also has a bit about Dante Fabbro as well. If Fabbro doesn't sign with Nashville in the coming weeks he will likely go back to college for his final year and then become a free agent the following summer, as he may not want to spend time in Nashville's minors fighting his way up their deep defensive chart.

Ottawa Senators are trying "European style" supporter sections

Doug MacLean: "I used to listen to Bryan Murray when Melnyk was being unbelievably hard on Bryan and us (GMs). I wanted to go ballistic. Bryan was calm. He would listen. He would take the heat. And slowly work it back and calm the owner down... And then decisions were made" Doug says Murray once got 7 calls between the end of the game and the time it took to get to the lockerroom to fire the coach, and Murray didn't end up firing the coach lol Ottawa's mayor (I think that's who it was) recently also stated Melynk is a very difficult person to deal with -

It's a lot worse than the Islanders were IMO. The fanbase hates Melynk so much I can't understand how he can even show his face anywhere near Ottawa. I really wanted to put it all in exact chronological order, but too daunting for me to align all the dates -

I know old thread, but I think Ottawa's demise is hilarious and worth documenting. I agree with this season. Hasn't looked very good all year. Last year I would have put only Mike Green ahead of him. Pretty indifferent at this point. Maybe he's aging, maybe it's just a down year. Doesn't make too much of a difference when the entire defense sucks outside of Green. -

Update on Otto Kivenmaki: He's been playing with Assat's junior level team most of the year. He got called up to the pro team earlier this year and scored 4 pts in 22 games. Not all that impressive... got sent back down after the 22 game stint. Recently he's been called up for a 2nd stint with the pro team and has scored 6 pts in 5 games so far. Seems he's carved out a niche on the team. For reference, Assat is a VERY bad team. They've won like 15 games of their last 53, and Kivenmaki's 10 pts in 27 games gives him some of the best ppg stats on the team. Pretty good for a 5'8" 140 lb 18 year old playing with grown men. Everything I've read says his skill level is elite. Just a small dude.
