Nah, I don't despise Mrazek. I despise the fan boy cult this teams fanbase built around him that you continue to espouse... because he's not that good. In fact he's bad. What do you think is a better indicator of performance... GAA? Or SV%? Darling is bad. Mrazek is bad. The Carolina fanbase would rather have Darling over Mrazek because of caphit and term, but that's also exactly why Mrazek will get the boot first. Darling's cap hit and term make him basically impossible to move. As the article you quoted already indicated... Why would Carolina re-sign a bad 2nd/3rd string goalie? They won't. They're going to move on from both Darling and Mrazek as soon as they can.

Just saying when I see the reaction from Wings land being: PULL THE TRIGGER, and Blues land being: HELL NAH, it's usually a good indicator that the trade suggestion is heavily lopsided. Pretty much everyone in Blues land is saying heck nah this morning. I don't really see it happening either. We'd have to take back Jake Allen in return, and they're not going to package a young under contract goalie with one of their best prospects for an aging goalie who might not return next year. Heard a few Blues fans suggest Allen + Jordan Nolan... Would anyone wanna do that? I wouldn't.

Mrazek has worse SV% and Darling's contract precludes him from the waiver wire. Darling sucking doesn't make Mrazek's sucking ok. They both suck. Unfortunately for Mrazek his contract expires at the end of this year and Darling's doesn't. Btw I show Darling backing up McE tonight.

He sure is "not on his game" a whole lot these days. I seriously doubt he remains in the league much longer. He was an awarded a prove it contract by Carolina, and he's already flunking that. Now he's 3rd string goalie behind Darling and McE. After this season there will not be a team willing to take another flyer on him.

Going off what Zombo said: "Hell we talk about them before they are drafted" This is kinda my issue. We go all in dissecting these kids prior to the draft, then they get drafted and suddenly its "you can't judge them yet, they haven't had time to reach their potential!" From my POV, if you can dissect them before the draft, you should be able to at any time throughout their career, including passing judgement about their cieling or comparing them to well known NHLers. I think a bias exists, that once they become Red Wings (and I'm sure this is true of any franchise) suddenly we go tribal and defend our boy at all costs. I'm certainly guilty of this behavior myself at most drafts...

To be perfectly honest I hate the whole "he's too young we can't talk about him yet" trope. I think we should be able to speak frankly, and critically, about any player regardless of age.
