Gotta think this has happened a few times in real life. There always holdin torches and lighting crap on fire while also wearing long wizard robes. I'm no expert, but gotta think that's a bad combo for fire safety.

Ok I don't have time to make a meme, but basically it's the car salesmen meme, but instead of a car salesmen it's Mr. Skeletal, and he slaps the roof of the car and says "This bad boy can fit so much calcium in it" So anyway, that's my meme, I hope you like it -

I just see them starting to care more about professional sports going forward. There middle class has made leaps and bounds the last 5 or 10 years and probably will continue to do so. Ur probably right though, southern United States, especially the West coast, has gotta be the fastest growing I'd think Jimmy D is placid AF -

I don't have a clue as to how... if there's any revitalization to the front office it will come when Yzerman takes over, but what can he really do besides steal the same scouts he already took once back, and replace our coach with someone new? It's a start I guess, but I doubt it will make a significant impact. The next big untapped market for players is in all likelihood China, but that could be 20, 30, even 50+ years out I think. Were gonna be bad for longer than people realize or are willing to admit IMO -

I mean, you have to draft superstars in order to get superstars, unless you are poised to get one of the rare ones that becomes available like San Jose was with Karlsson, or we were with Hossa back in the contention days. Lidstrom - drafted Datsyuk - drafted Zetterberg - drafted So I see that as the strategy for the last 10 years: Draft & Hope I think there was real hope that Hudler & Filppula would be the next leaders on this team. That fell short. Round 2 was Nyquist & Tatar. That too fell short. The inability to draft and develop a single decent Dman since Kronwall is a GLARING issue as well. Now we have round 3 in Larkin/Cholowski/Mantha/Rasmussen/Bertuzzi/AA... unfortunately there's no goalie and one Dman in there, but it is what it is.... we pretty much have to just keep drafting and hoping. This is the way of the modern NHL. The question for me is: Is our drafting/scouting worse than it was in the past, or are we not developing our draft picks to their full potential? To me the answer is the former, I don't think our development is any worse than it once was for the most part. The thing that made the Red Wings not just a great team, but a powerhouse dynasty back when, was the willingness to explore untapped markets of talent in Europe back in the 90s and early 2000s. That rare advantage we had ended in the early 2000s and we started coming back down to earth around 2010. To boot, Nill and Yzerman both stole a lot of scouts on their departure. TLDR: We were a draft power house, other teams caught up and picked our fat carcass dry, now we must draft and hope with the pleb teams. -
Next time were all having fun and the thread suddenly gets locked, remember this guys name But you see, he doesn't like watching videos and he had to scroll for 2 extra seconds in order to get past your video! The horror! He's probably already tattled to a mod that the power users - ya know, the ones like you and me who actually generate the content on this website that he likes to read - posted a video again, and that mildly inconvenienced his scrolling. Thank you to all of you who do this btw, it really motivates us, the people who actually post here, to keep bailing out the sinking ship that is this website with more content. Keep it up.

Which Goalie Will Have The Better Season?

His Mr. I mask alone puts his "appreciateabilitiness" over 9000 Unfortunately, even in *current year*, some still won't be able to find a reason to appreciate him. Sad. -

What is he out for 4 weeks or something with a shoulder injury? I'm almost more tickled by putting the screws to Toronto than I am actually signing him. -

IDK about Marner, but do you think our 1st rounder for the next four years is worth Matthews? I think so. -

And I like Trouba, don't get me wrong. He'd certainly help this team. But compensation to actually acquire him via offer sheet is likely approaching $7+ million with heavy term and FOUR 1st round picks going back to the Jets. That's not smart in anyway shape or form. (Also I know some kids who played hockey with Trouba and none of his former teammates had anything nice to say about him. The general consensus being all said he's a mommas boy and didn't have many friends. Take that for what you will. 2nd hand knowledge) -

You're not wrong at all about offer sheets, but actually gaining control of the RFA in question and providing said compensation is not the goal of a predatory offer sheet, which is what I would advocate for. Essentially I just want Holland to offer sheet ONLY the big names, like Auston Matthews, to drive up their cost for their respective teams. At the end of the day I'm overly confident that Toronto would match even league maximum for a player like this, despite the high compensation. So I'd do it to certain teams like Toronto.. they probably wern't gonna trade much with us anyway. If Jimmy D is seriously alluding to acquiring a player via offer sheet, I think it's probably a bad idea. At first look I assume he'd be targeting Trouba, who has the connections to Michigan and has had troubles signing past contracts with the Jets. Issue there is he's obviously no superstar and would cost us way to much. If anything I think Jimmy D is referring to a trade. As in perhaps an unconventional trade for a basement team. Like retaining salary on some of our current players and swapping them for someone else. Maybe an aging star like Kovalcuk? IDK, purely spitballing. -
Which Goalie Will Have The Better Season?

Let's recap shall we: I post about Howard being unappreciated going into a fair amount of detail about it. You start quibbling about "performance" I explain I am speaking about the lack of appreciation for him, not "performance" You ask me what he should be appreciated for I cite my original post where I've already commented on that You ask me what he should be appreciated for... (this is where we are now) Did you not read my original post? Are you too stubborn to go back and read it now? I know you're a smart guy, but this is low energy for you. If you'd like to discuss Howard I'm all ears my dude, but it's a waste of your time and mine to play games like this. I think my original post is more than sufficient at explaining why I think Howard should be appreciated and why I think he's underappreciated by the fanbase. If you disagree with that please feel free to quote the post and show where I didn't explain enough or why I'm totally stupid in my notion. If you do that perhaps I can expand on my thoughts and explain better and the discussion can continue. If you're not willing to do this, I guess the discussion ends here. I'm not going to say anything different than what I've already said, unless you can provide me feedback about what I failed to explain to you properly. Appreciate your efforts, enjoy your din din -
Which Goalie Will Have The Better Season?

Bruh, I literally just reposted my original posts for you and broke them down by paragraph for you... and your gonna make me post them again? You need to scroll back up or return to an earlier page if you forget what I wrote, I'm not gonna repost them every time for you, sorry. Here ya go: Not gonna dissect this one down for you like I did the last one. I trust you'll figure it out. It's a lot of work having to breakdown the same point I already made in a new way for someone every time. I suggest just referring back to these posts if you need clarification. Anything you have issue with, I'm sure you'll let me know. Good luck. -
Which Goalie Will Have The Better Season?
ChristopherReevesLegs replied to ChristopherReevesLegs's topic in General
Pretty average? So your assessing them based on performance? By that logic you'd have to say the 1999 "FLY" tour was pretty average as well. We'll you'd be wrong there pal, because as you can see, based on box office sales that year, they had one of the hottest country performances of all...... -
Which Goalie Will Have The Better Season?
ChristopherReevesLegs replied to ChristopherReevesLegs's topic in General
I'm sorry that you had trouble reading my original posts, I've posted them both again for you below (combined) First full paragraph: I guess what I was trying to go for here was "Look how you were all wrong about Mrazek, and now Bernier, this fanbase doesn't appreciate Howard, you'd think ya'll would have learned better by now, haha go Jimmy" and you'll notice in the last sentence there I included a clue that lets you know I'm speaking about the "appreciation" for Jimmy Howard. Did you spot it yet? How about now? Truly a dead give away once you spot it! Second little mini paragraph: Here I was more or less trying to convey that Howard has always ended up winning the starting job during his time here, and that no one recognizes or appreciates him for that. The key with this one, and how you know I'm speaking about the appreciation for Howard, is another sneaky lil clue I included. Have trouble seeing it? Try now That's a tough one, I can see how you missed that one Next: I forget what I meant here... performance or appreciation... I did say he was average I guess, that's kinda about his performance I guess... WAIT! THERE IT IS. Almost missed it myself. I guess I musta been trying to say he's unappreciated or something. Lastly: Easy one. I meant something along the lines of "no matter what Howard does, he will still be unappreciated" Seems like this whole concept of "appreciation" might be a theme I got going here, but DON'T WORRY, I can TOTALLY see how you got "performance" out of all that. I did type the word "outperforms" once, and basically didn't talk about it all. On to the blue, Not sure what you're trying to prove here. Are you trying to suggest Gustavsson, MacDonald, and Mrazek are better goalies than Howard based on stats? I wouldn't make that case, but I implore you to do so if you like. Again, I'm STILL team Howard, even if you want to pigeon hole this into stats. Howard has better career totals in GAA and SV% than Bernier. I won't break that one down for you, I trust you can look that up. Your kinda just proving my point here. You know the one about how no one appreciates Howard and everyone's always rooting for the next guy. -

As much as I like the idea of being the classy franchise on a hill, I'm 100% ok with Holland just becoming the first GM to use predatory offer sheets left and right and trolling teams with them up and down the league. Would be lol -
Hey don't knock him, it's a real thing I bet Blashill has never even HEARD of Ed Robinson
