Yeah I mean Kucherov spent about 20 games in the AHL his first season and only amassed 18 pts in the NHL that season. Season two he's at 65 pts. Zadina could be going down a similar road.

I don't think it ever really went away I know you're family man, but as a young guy who stills hangs out in bars and what not, I get offered cocaine more than occasionally. It's pretty much the only "hardcore drug" that IMO seems to be socially acceptable among regular people. I think a lot of the true addicts moved on to meth and crack and what not in the 90s, but the weekend warriors and high-flying crowd stuck with the coke.

Relief from what? They have 8.5 in cap space with a 24 man roster right now. If Smith had been claimed they're looking at something like 11.5 on opening day. Big whoop. They don't need the cap space at all, they're only going to shed more contracts this year. All the Smith waiver debacle has served to do is piss off Ottawa players and Ottawa fans. Not trying to disparage Zadina, but I thought Kotkaniemi was a lot more fun to watch than Zadina was. And Kotkaniemi was being matched up against Tavares and other 1st line centermen all preseason. I was impressed that one he found the success he did, and two that he looked really good doing it. Zadina was a little more bland. Flashes of brilliance, decent defense for a youngen, but nothing that made me say WOW he needs to stay with the big club.

With all the injuries on defense already, the forward group I'm sure will get hit too. He could be back on the team quick. Can't remember if it was Blash or management, but someone said something along the lines of it's a confidence thing, and going to GR where he can rip it up for a while will boost his confidence and get him that much more ready for the NHL duties. I tend to agree with that line of thinking, even if it's only for like a month or so.

That Kotkaniemi kid that no one wanted is looking REALLY good in the preseason. And the Habs are playing him against other teams top lines pretty much every shift. Doesn't look out of place in the league at all.

You two just don't understand me like KR does... At this point in time, I think Larkin was the superior player at his age, and even Larkin needed a year at U of M before joining the DRW. That being said, I value players who are "playmakers" and drive possession (especially centers), like Larkin, more than I do goal-scoring wingers. So I have some bias in that department. IMO Zadina should go down to GR and then make the team next year. No sense in rushing him on to the team for the sake of it. He looked good in what little I watched, but not any better than Svechnikov, whose also barely on the cusp of making the team also. We have plenty of forwards and I'm patient.

No, but I think I got a warning for calling Babcock "Godcock" once For reference, it was annoyingly popular to call Lidstrom "Godstrom" at the time I still maintain that Godcock should have be allowed on these grounds and the fact that he was a great coach
