Report: Detroit to name Steve Yzerman as GM

There's always Sam Gagner's of the world coming back Step into the Seattle Corona wasteland and contract the covid? Nice try virus spreader -
Detroit won/lost the same amount of games as Pitt in 04/05 If the Scott thing was so inconsequential why did the league bother getting involved? Look around you. Everything's rigged. I'm rigged. Half the users on this board work for the FBI. We're announcing the existence of aliens in September.

Pittsburgh getting Crosby to keep the team from moving I think that was the eye-opener for most that the thing is definitely rigged. Just look at the John Scott business where he got traded and sent to the AHL to keep him out of the all star game. If the league is willing to step in over small potatoes like that they are willing to rig lotteries.

Report: Detroit to name Steve Yzerman as GM
ChristopherReevesLegs replied to BringBack19's topic in General
Yeah yeah I'm the bad man, keep telling me about it in every thread Why was AA the only one on the block though? Sure the former three are probably our best players, but does anyone really think Larkin/Mantha/Bertuzzi are gonna take us to the cup? Maybe you do, IDK, but personally I don't. Firstly, I don't think any of those three are anything remarkably special enough that they need to be protected and cherished, and with the amount of work the team needs they may not even be here when we're ready to contend anyway. Which begs the question... why not sell them? I will be the first to tell you that my brain is a ******* circus -

Yzerman spues more lies than Holland ever did "AA is the player teams called on" BS 101. Teams called about Mantha, Larkin,n Bertuzzi but u were only willing to sell AA. He honestly thinks we believe teams only called on AA. Are sports fans naturally retarded, or does Stevie Y just assume it? I treat either or as an offense. f*** this guy. -

Old clip but fun to talk about nevertheless I really think this is the wrong core. Larkin is not elite. Mantha is not elite. Bertuzzi is not elite. Hronek is not elite. We're dealing with a collection of young players who are good, but will never take us to the promise land. We need Lafreniere style players. -

Yes but that's the situation no matter if we go with your method, Marcs, the NHLs, or whomevers. I don't really have an opinion one way or the other (especially since the Wings are the only team eliminated) but this year puts the Red Wings in particular in an odd circumstance. I'm gonna transition away from the playoff format now, sorry for quoting you. 1. We now have possible extended time to evaluate and decide on draft picks and UFAs. I don't think this seemingly trivial fact should go underestimated. We now have all the highs and lows of an almost competed season by all players involved, with possible even extended playoffs to come. The corona gap between regular season and playoffs will also give us a clean slate, so to speak, where the momentum and hype is nearly canceled in the playoffs. I think one could argue either way, but I personally think this fact gives us one of the most honest and potentially realistic view of certain players in a must win format. Also, have u been in meetings of 30+ people? There's a reason companies try to do as many as they can of them. Sharing ideas amongst 30 scouts or employees requires days on end of deliberation and exploration. Think about LGW. Debates about things of much more trivial consequence can go on for days or more. The point I'm trying to drive home is that the more our scouts have time to meet, the more they will get closer to the right decision. A clear advantage to a team who is drafting high and has never seen a draft THIS important before. Gentlemen, there is an easy argument that can be made that this could be the most important draft to the Detroit Red Wings in the history of the franchise. I feel no disillusion saying that. 2. The possible shrink of the salary cap. Corona has crashed the economy, your 401K, and also probably the NHL salary cap. A retracting salary cap will benefit this team in possibly the most profound way. This is gonna put the salary crunch on teams, and no one planned for or foresaw this. That means that players you hoped might be available may very well be, and even more you might not have anticipated. Couple that with our cap room and ability to spend and it looks like a tasty situation. We have become the low cap high dollar team we feared in 2005. Couple this with the fact that we have possibly the most RFAs needing to be re-signed. This bodes well for our negotiating leverage. Fear of offer-sheets will be slim to none. RFAs will be forced to the table. Lastly, consider out situation with disliked vets like Abdelkader and Nielsen. A decreasing cap should realistically motivate Yzerman to hunker down and NOT perform a buyout. I personally want to become as competitive as fast as possible, but i respect the clear long term advantage of waiting on a buyout. Could very well be a blessing in disguise in terms of roster engagement. -

Some of us have ammo instead of food. Household requires provisions. I often prey for the family next door. -
You will hush your mouth choosy beggar There hasn't been a new thread on LGW in 700 years. Until you create one you have no standing amongst the tribe.

Day 57 since Corona reached Seattle I haven't wiped my bottom in 53 days now. The stench is becoming unbearable. I can't sleep. I can't eat. My un-wiped ass is literally caked in fecal matter. When the teepee wars began no one could have guessed how quickly the supplies would run out. It's a toilet paper desert here now, and those who stocked up on butt paper are in no better condition than the rest of us. Just yesterday I watched a man get dragged from his home and beaten to death with empty cardboard toilet paper rolls. It took the mob hours to finish him off. Those who raided his supplies we're wiping themselves in a frenzy with entire rolls all at once, like savages who had never once learned to use a spool. It's like the dark ages here. Total civil degradation and devolution of man. Kiss your children, hug your wives/husbands, and pray you do not suffer the same fate as the pacific NW. -
100% I could do more push ups than you and Larkin combined

Playoffs? Who knows if they'll even happen. It's been pretty quiet around here though during the quarantine, besides my neighbors baby. Seemed like it cried for days on end without stopping till last night. Don't know what got it to stop, but I could hear mom sobbing on the other side of the wall this morning. Smelled like she was cooking BBQ too, although all the meat in the grocery stores went sold out days ago so I have no idea where the extra food came from... Love from Seattle. -

How many corona patients do you know? How many videos of ppl dropping dead in the west have you seen? How many images of Italy mobilizing police and doctors have you seen? Thousands of images and video poured out of China - a country behind a totalitarian government firewall - but a free democratic western nation like Italy where everyone has a camera phone? Next to nothing. According to the World Health Organization the H1N1 pandemic from 2009 infected multi-millions and killed upwards of an estimated half a million people and we all kept going to work and carrying out our daily lives. According to the World Health Organization the corona virus has yet to infect 200K or kill 8K, yet we are closing schools, colleges, restaurants, sports, businesses, restricting travel and quarantining our neighbors. There is no corona virus, nothing beyond a seasonal flu anyway. You're being tested and the powers that be want to know how the cattle like us react, and what they themselves can get away with. They're pushing the envelope as far as they can. Public policy will be formed around how we react to this trial run. And so far it wasn't very hard for them to get us to follow the hive and crash our own economies. I have to go take my meds now. In the meantime go outside and live your lives sheeple. -

Id rather die than not watch hockey To the airport! -
Idk dude i think i rank Bure above Datsyuk offensively. Dats gets the D edge fersure. If Bure had been on better teams i think he couldve been a hockey idol. Datsyuk was on good teams and is just a really great player it seems.
-
Yeah if u wanna talk eye candy Bure is definately up there with the Lemieuxs and Datsyuks of the world. Naturally it would be crazy interesting to see that guys career on a different timeline with different teams.

The most ridiculous and laughable part about all this panic hoarding is the toilet paper. The ratio of value to volume isnt good enough for me to loot this item. Anymore than a few measley rolls and ive exceeded my carrying capacity. Gotta keep my war band light and mobile. Plus have u ever pooped waist deep in a pond or river? Its delightful. Like an auto cleaning service. So rats at least horde something of value please.
