Lol, that's why you work out a deal, on all but paper, with Karlsson before the trade is completed. You want generational talent, you gotta give. Ouellet, AA, and Svech wouldn't be missed at all. How much would you have demanded for 1999 Lidstrom? A kings ransom right? Our chances of drafting a player like Karlsson, even with high picks, is beyond slim. And players of his level almost never hit the market like this. We should be throwing the moon at Ottawa if we are at all interested. -

Rumors that a few other teams are after Grubauer, including the Isles I think, but I haven't heard the Wings are. Wings like Hutton and Khudobin

What's SOP this year? If Zadina falls to 6th, but we take one of the Dmen, do we frigout? If all of the Dmen are available, but we take Wahlstrom, do we lose our beans? If we take Noel Serron do we all suicide pact? -
IDK, but if I'm Botterhill I'm definitely trying to move him out of the Atlantic.

Because no one's looking at how Svechnikov has actually performed. The buzz from his hype is still lingering... I see a future third liner who has absolutely not earned a spot in Detroit yet, and IMO he should not be gifted one just because he was a 1st round draft pick. Pass that s***. I want the Vanek. I need the Vanek. Yes OMG YES -

Yeah trading up gets beaten to death every year. It's usually a pretty unrealistic pipe dream. We probably have just a good of chance at successfully offer-sheeting Trouba... -
Will be interesting to see if Howard has a good year or a mediocre one. Not at all opposed to re-signing my main man on a shorter deal, just keep the deal team friendly.

Red Wings NOT opposed to bringing Marty Frk back So this article gives a better explanation of what is going with Frk. The team is not opposed to bringing him back, however the team is opposed to submitting a qualifying offer on him. If we qualify him it will cost us $715,000. Cheap right? But the catch with qualifying him at this price is that he then gains arbitration rights... which he will likely exercise... and an arbitrator will likely award more than $715,000. The Wings would rather risk negotiating with him as a UFA and losing him to another team, than trust an arbitrator with the contract. This is smart IMO. Seems Ken is playing closer to attention to keeping his players salaries under control. He would rather risk Frk walking than overpay him, which is good, Frk definitely ain't good enough to warrant any over-payment. -
Ahem, here's some real rumors to discuss IMO ROR is a lot like Zetterberg. Not flashy but makes almost zero mistakes with and without the puck. Textbook hockey. Personally I really like these types of players, but who know's if we'd even have a shot at him. Oilers Jumping in on Karlsson talks Stastny would like to return to Winnipeg or Colorado in no particular order Toronto and Tampa in talks for Vancouver's Chris Tanev Kessell not opposed to leaving Pittsburgh via trade

I really think Kenneth has something up his sleeve this year. Won't be mad if he doesn't make a big splash, I just get the slight feeling he's lacing up the steel toes for some epic tire kicking... He's got like 17 million in cap space right now. He's gotta sign Larkin, Mantha, AA, and Bertuzzi yet. He's gotta trade Ouellet yet. Does he trades Green's rights? Is he ready to part ways with Nyquist already? Tavares, Karlsson, Kovalchuck, Simmonds, and Panarin (I'm sure I'm forgetting someone) are all possibly on the market. He's got a stockpile of draft picks if he wants to make trades. The conditions seem right to me for a major shake up if he decides to go nuts
