Reminder that all hoarders are scared beta rats, and their stockpiles belong to alpha marauders like you. How to spot a hoarder? Look for structures that have been boarded up. That means there's loot inside. Also watch for anyone trading luxury items like alcohol tobacco or precious metals. Follow them long enough and theyll lead you straight to their honey pot of essentials and other goods. Once youve discovered a hoarder rats location the process is simple. Give them the mongolian diplomacy. Either they join your marauding band and forfeit their supplies to the group, or you will kill them all without mercy. In event of the later tear gas is your best option because fire may possibly destroy the supplies you are trying to retrieve, although if you can smoke them out without setting a serious fire that is a very effective method. Tear gas can be produced at home with mixtures of alcohol and capsaicin from peppers. Do some googling while internet is still up. Once youve flushed the rat you must terminate them. Even if they surrender after enough gas n smoke you cant risk being knifed by dissidents in your sleep. Do the deed. If you dont already have a gun to do this with youre a rat and none of this applies to you. Stop reading. Rumors of your viloence and power will spread throughout the nearby community and more will willingly submit to you in the future. Now your reign of terror has begun. Stick to this method and snowballing it until you can take larger and larger game. Eventually you will run into other marauding hordes and you will want as many men and weapons that you can muster. Sidenote: pick a theme for your band. Im going with classic homoerotic leather garb mad max style. Goodluck LGWers and remember offense is the best defense in the coronpocalypse -
Losing Comrie for nothing Losing Regula for nothing Losing Kaski for nothing Selling low on AA Inability to obtain an extra 1st Not sacking Blash Yzerman is lucky corona is gonna steal spotlight and the season and save him from an absolutely attrocious 1st year performance.

As of today: Also, Imagine the playoffs with a completely silent arena...

@krsmith17 and @LeftWinger I dunno why youve chosen to die on this hill lol. Perlini is beyond awful. He brings absolutely nothing to the ice each night. I prefer just about every forward on the roster to him. Even Nielsen and Abby. Both Erne and Ehn are far more valuable players, which is crazy seeing as Ehn and Erne are replaceable bottom 6ers. Liking Perlini is clown world level retardation. Yzerman f***edddd up on that trade

Again? Have i become the CNN of LGW?

Ehn is the next Glendening. Ive told this story b4, but I met Kyle Kos (former 2nd round pick by the lightning who never made the NHL) in a bar in Grand Rapids once. He told me if he could go back in time he wouldve played the game specifically just like Glendening. His reasoning being that Glendening plays the game the right way and does the little things that most players ignore. Thats a recipe for a long career even if youre not a superstar. Kos said he spent most of his time training his wrist shot and what not thinking he was gonna be the next best top6 forward, when he shoulve been focused on faceoffs and playing textbook D. Theres always gonna be 1000 guys with better wrist shots than u. Its the other things that are important. He really stressed this. Said to me if u ever have a son make him focus on the non flashy stuff. Wont make him a 1st round pick, but it will get him to the league. Ehn is the 2nd coming of Glendening. If he had talent he would be Zetterberg, but he doesnt so hes a boring (but effective) bottom 6er like luke. Very few mistakes. Excellent decision making. Superb D and gap control. He'll never be an amazing player but this is a valuable bottom 6 forward that playoff teams will covet at the TDL. I sort of equate Kyle Kos's story to a player like Brendan Perlini. Perlini has tremendous potential to be a top6er but the talent just isn't there. And hes also terrible away from the puck. So he'll find himself out of the league b4 a player like Glendog or Ehn does despite having a stronger pedigree. I really like Chris N -

Bob Richie Jr aint doin too hot IMHO. His music career is winding to a close and i dont think he knows what to do with himself. He had that half hearted publicity stunt attempt at a Michigan senate seat, and hes also gotten into the restaurant/bar business, despite seemingly having no idea how to run a restaurant/bar. His restaurant in the LCA is already gone due to poor management. I never ate there but i heard the food was below average and overpriced. He also has an establishment in Nashville and it seems like he just uses it as his own personal watering hole. Theres videos of him going on drunken rants and being escorted out of his own bar by Nashville PD. I say this as a fan of Kid Rock. Devil Without A Cause is still one of my favorite albums despite me normally not liking raprock whatsoever, and I saw him live in Seattle last summer. Just seems like hes a bit of a mess right now. Hes old n rich and doesnt know what to do besides keep partying like hes 20. -
Lol Yeah ******* trade him
-
-
Perlini is a Darren Ferris player. Ditch him.
-
I was speaking specifically about goals. No question his assist numbers are insane. But I agree, Gretsky does not fit into the mold of "goal scorer" IMO even though he scored a lot of goals.
-
Ehn is going to be the one selected by Seattle

You're right obviously. Those Abby and Nielsen buyouts look rough. Thing is Fill, as bad as he is, is still much better than Nielsen and Abby. If Yzerman did but out Abby or Nielsen, it would almost indicate that he's planning to tank for 4-6 years. That would be hard for me to stomach. Another half-decade of completely retarded hockey in Detroit? All of us have been beyond patient with this team already considering we're still here, but IDK that I can be that patient...
-
Sure, and that's fine with me if we HAVE to go that option. Maybe a Carl Soderberg if he's available? Or just stick with Sam Gagner at that point? Worst case scenario they're just like Filppula and useless to us on the 2nd line. But we gotta try. Just keep the deals short so we retain flexibility. With Namestnikov there's some links to Detroit through spending parts of his childhood there, and cause Yzerman drafted him. That's a heavy portion of why I list him specifically. But yeah I won't be surprised if he gets out of Ottawa and wants no part of us Here's the thing though. Like a weaker college football program that can sell starting time to recruits, we can do the same. Whoever we chase we can probably easily promise 2nd line minutes. There's bound to be a decent C out there who's getting 3rd line minutes and thinks he deserves top6 minutes. That's who I want. That's what we can offer. A full season chance to prove it.
-
IMO the big needs that should be addressed are: Another top4 capable Dman (doesn't have to be a Krug, just someone who can do the job), a 2C (Filppula is not cut out for that role), and a starting goalie. Off the cuff, something like: Namestiknov ($4.5 x 3), Anton Khudobin ($3 x 2), and Joel Edmundson ($4 x 3) Not one of those guys moves the needle really, but they all seem to be capable NHLers who can fill gaps. Namestnikov is young enough and has history with Yzerman, and can probably immediately be our 2C behind Larkin, despite maybe being more suited for a 3rd line or 2nd line wing (He can shift once Veleno/Rasmussen/2020 1st rounder come online) Khudobin can probably capabley share the net with Bernier for 2 seasons. Edmundson is basically another Danny D and decently young still. In total a $12 million investment for 2-3 seasons if my guesses at salary aren't wildly off or something. There's a couple different players you could substitute in here as well. Bertuzzi - Larkin - Mantha Fabbri - Namestnikov - Zadina Timashov - Filppula - Rasmussen Helm - Ehn - Glendening Nielsen/Abdelkader/Erne Dekeyser - Hronek Edmundson - Seider Nemeth - Bowey Biega/Lindstrom/Cholowski Bernier Khudobin Looking at that lineup it might be the right time to buyout Nielsen and/or Abby... Important to keep in mind as well that injuries will stack up, and guys like Helm/Glendening/Filppula/Nemeth/Biega/Bernier might get traded out next year. So that lineup won't look so jumbled relatively quickly I'd think. Bertuzzi - Larkin - Mantha Fabbri - Namestnikov - Zadina Timashov - Rasmussen - Erne Ehn - Nielsen - Abdelkader Dekeyser - Hronek Edmundson - Seider Cholowski - Bowey Lindstrom Khudobin Larsson Nielsen retiring would be a god send, or do we get hit with a crazy recapture penalty for that contrract? IDK Still I'd like to put someone on top of Fil. Fil can play 4th line in Nielsen's old spot behind Rasmussen for all I care. He's just not effective enough to be a 2C anymore. 3 or 4th line is where he belongs IMO.
-
Agreed. If not Gagner, then some other UFA. But I'm not certain Yzerman will be buy out Nielsen. If that's the case that he's staying for now, then I see Glendening playing up the lineup and it going Larkin - Gagner/UFA - Filppula - Nielsen/Ehn. And if Nielsen or Ehn play awful or get hurt then Glendening moves to C and either takes the 3rd or 4th line. I just don't see many scenarios where Turgeon at 4C makes sense over what what we already have there. Depends on what we add to the roster via FA and prospects. As it currently stands I'd say Ehn is hovering somewhere around our 10th forward, depending on how awful you think Erne/Abby/Perlini/etc are. He's also just breached 100 NHL games at 23 years old, so I still see potential for growth there as a bottom line PKer entering his prime. If enough prospects come up and we sign UFA's I have no problem with him being the 13th forward. Cleary and Horcoff described Veleno as exactly that. An offensive forward who needs to build out his defensive game. Don't know how you missed it. I've quoted it before in our back n forths about Veleno with no objections from you. I think he's certainly more serviceable right now than any of the players you just listed. I don't have much of an opinion on Timashov yet though, so I'd consider that N/A.
-
I have no problem with Rasmussen playing 4th line again. He's starting next season at 21. If he was 24 like Turgeon yeah it would look a lot worse. I'm fairly confident Filppula will not be the 2C next year. It will be another incredibly rough season if he is. I think another player like Rasmussen/Gagner/UFA absolutley needs to be inserted there. Meaning Turgeon will have to outplay a combination of Rasmussen/Nielsen/Ehn/Glendening/Filppula for a job in the bottom 6. I don't think he's capable of beating even one of those players. It would be great to be in a situation where a player like Ehn is replaceable, but we're far from that, and Turgeon is even scrubbier than Ehn. His defensive game is so great that he didn't get one look in the NHL this year. So great that he's losing PK time to a 19/20 year old offensive forward in Veleno. So great that a younger version of himself in Pearson looks poised to take his roster spot. So great that Ehn is on an NHL roster and not him. Kids done.
-
See above. I think you have to assume our young players are what they are for now. And move forward with that mentality. Is Larkin a bonafide productive 1C again next year? Possibly. Is Seider an impact top4 D? Possibly. Is Lindstrom a steady bottom pairing? Possibly. Is Mantha a 30+ goal elite winger? Possibly. But I will treat those possibilities as happy surprises ala Frank Grimes when they happen. I'm not worried about any truly talented players being forced out of the lineup by this roster.
-
I think (in all things) you have to plan for the worst case scenario - within reason - and act accordingly. Do I think Seider will be the 1D on this team very soon? Absolutely, but it's smarter to plan that that doesn't happen, than to plan that it will. If Seider is the 1D I think he is then he will have no trouble climbing over Nemeth, Bowey, Dekeyser, and whatever FA we sign.
-
Glendening and Rasmussen can't play 4C? Why? Hell If we weren't so desperate for quality 2nd and 3rd line C's, I'd even put Filppula there. See I'd like to hear what you see in him that makes you think so fondly of him. He's the most boring player for the Griffins IMO, and not in a good way. He doesn't seem to particularly good at anything to me, and that includes defense. I see no NHL future in this player whatsoever, and being a below-average AHLer at 24 makes me think it's time to move on from him. Why do you think Turgeon will and Ehn won't?
-
Yes I personally want Seider in the lineup, but I can't pretend a 19 year old Dman is definitely 100% gonna make the team next year and play meaningful minutes. Especially if Yzerman is gonna run the boat into the rocks again. Until he does make the team I have to consider him a ?. Lindstrom has been pretty steady from what I've seen of him. I think he's still waiver exempt next year though, which makes me think he should be used as a callup for one more year. He still has less than a full season on NA ice. I look at the lineup like this Dekeyser (4D) - Hronek (2D) Nemeth (6D) - Bowey (6D) Biega (7D) - Lindstrom (7D) Seider (7D) - Cholowski (7D) I think hoping that Bowey/Seider/Lindstrom/Cholowski are better than 6/7Ds next year is wishful thinking, and not where I'd put all my eggs. And the Top4 needs significant upgrading. I think there's very much a need to add another 4D or something like that.
-
Why can't Ehn get better? You seem to think Turgeon may still grow into something worthwhile, and Ehn is younger than him with a much better track record of success.
-
Sure but barring some tough buyouts or trades I think our C depth looks like this: Larkin Filppula Glendening Nielsen Ehn Rasmussen Turgeon Veleno Pearson You could even throw Helm and Gagner in there to some extent I think there's gonna have to be a few key injuries to our Cs before Turgeon ever sniffs the lineup. Couple that with the fact that Veleno and Pearson are about to leapfrog him on the depth chart, Berggren is probably gonna join the organization soon, and we may very well have a new high profile C joining us after the draft, and I don't see how this player will make the lineup. He's getting pushed farther down the depth chart, not up it, me thinks. And when a wing spot on the 4th line opens up I see Hirose/Smith/Svechnikov/Rasmussen taking it over him.
