Thanks. I trust Doug Weight, and naturally as a great hockey players Tavares probably wants to win a few cups. I also trust Tavares though, and he's said explicitly multiple times it's important to him to be loyal to the team that drafted him and he loves playing for NYI. Stamkos, as far as I know, never even said those kind of things and look where he ended up. This will be hyped to the max until he re-signs with the Isles, but I think it's all just that. Hype. He'll probably be an Islander for life.

We need multiple plugs? Good to know. News to me.

Where'd you read this? So Sproul is ready for full-time NHL duties then and Daley is holding him back? Is that what I'm not understanding? So change his name out with Bertuzzi, Svechnikov, I just threw in young player X

We already have that depth skater in Luke Witowski. He should be the one sitting while Frk plays, not Booth sitting so Witowski can play.

For all the heat Cholowski and Rasmussen have taken because "but but Holland different draft the guy I wanted!" both have looked really good in preseason. Big Ras looked right in step last night. Not exceptionally fast, but more than kept up, sometimes skating faster than Nyquist and Tatar. Very responsible, excellent passing and shooting, very good net screening, and a little bit nasty in front of the goalie. Looks like a very composed and confident player. Like Ras Cholowski looks calm and collected out there. Above average decision making. Smooth skating for a D-man. Will probably never be a flashy player, but does all the little things right like Lidstrom did. Real potential to be an anchor on the backend for us. Frk has that nifty slapper, but he looks like sort of a blah one-dimensional player to me. Other than those 3, nobody else has really made a big impression on me.

Yes I think I misunderstood your last sentence. I just don't understand how everyone is cool with signing bottom of the barrel players, who no one else in the league wanted, that take spots from kids, but signing a legitimate top 4 who can help the team and take a spot from a kid is something to raise arms over you'd think it would be the other way around.
-
What's wrong with Daley in the top 4?
-
? Where's your source that he wants to win the cup?
-
Which is exactly why I don't see any need for PAP or Booth lol

IDK if the difference is that huge. If Green is gone in a few months we will need a player like Daley to step in. And with the injury bug we probably won't even be that jammed up until then.

Rumor has it, that is not true. He wants to play with his BFFs Frans Nielsen and Kyle Okposo. Which is why Red Wings and Sabres are front runners.

I am confused by how awesome this thread is -
If they can't be bothered to use the toilet, I can't be bothered to learn their weird baseball

You talk about trading Sheahan, but leave out that Green is likely to be traded as well. Sproul hasn't done anything noteworthy in his career yet. He's certainly not the same caliber as Daley right now, and likely won't be the entire season. I remind you, we have 3 more years of Daley. Calling him a bad signing because player X got waived at the start of his first season is a little premature IMO.

Turkish oil wrestling actually

No, I agree with you. Vanek couldn't run the entire power play himself, and neither can Frk. There's some deeper issues there that need to be fixed. However just having a hard RH shot in the lineup is a step in the right direction... even if that is just cycling Frk in for Vanek

When AA is signed we will have 12 forwards. A full forward group. Then we have Frk, Bertuzzi, and Svechnikov knocking on the door. That's 15 forwards. If you want a youth movement, signing PAP and/or Booth just log jams the youth back down in GR some more. I get what you're saying about Daley, but Green will probably be gone at the deadline and Kronwall is unlikely to play a full season. Even so, let's pretend the backend stays healthy and Green doesn't get traded. Why the hypocrisy about Daley log jammin up the D, but not Booth or PAP log jammin up the forwards? I don't get it.

"With the 9th overall pick red wings select disappointment" Fkin idiots lol

Whatre you trying to say comrade? Because I like a team that's red I'm a communist? I'm not a communist. I can think for myself. You cant tell me what to do. Im not a robot. Im not the reason we lost the war in Nam.

I continue to be astounded by how many people bitched and moaned about signing Daley (a position of need). But now everyone is totally cool with signing PAP and Booth, and talking about them like they already have contracts (not a position of need either). Is it the position? The player (s)? The time of year? Where is the boat that I missed?

Its one thing when u get a crosby or a kane on that type of deal. Its another when you sign 2 low end supertars to it. They committed that franchise to the Parise/Suter show for the next decade. Unfortunately that show is probably always gonna be slighly behind the Crosby/Malkin, Toews/Kane, Kopitar/Doughty, etc etc shows

Vanek was not what was wrong with that powerplay. He was at times the only bright spot in it.

Thanks UNICEF
