Lebrun just said on Toronto radio "I honestly don't believe ownership cares about the team anymore" in regards to the Avs. Pretty bold claim by a respected insider.

Yakupov said "I would love to play for Vancouver"

Joe Morrow did not receive a qualifying offer from Boston, will hit FA. Former 1st rounder.

I'd like to say I'm disappointed, but he really hasn't been very good since draft day -

2nd Annual Draft Revisit Thread (2012)

Well the Red Wings did sign him right before graduation. Obviously they have some hope for him. He should be on the squad by 2027 at the latest. I think college hockey was the wrong choice, and a huge setback for him. Although i admire his decision to look outside of sports and get a degree under his belt. Cant say Id do the same as a 5th round draft choice of an original 6 team. He would have excelled in the role of a tough guy in the CHL, or another league that condones fighting, I believe. Look at Mcilrath. He was able to raise his stock to become a top 10 pick playing the same style. Biggest difference between the two is Mcilrath is a horrid skater, where as Mckee can get the wheels on the bus moving. I think the other issue was his move to defense. Not sure why Murray moved Mckee there. My best guess is his 2013/14 forward core was complete and Mckee, not being a player who was going to contribute to a scoring line (and you can run 4 scoring lines in college), was transitioned to a shutdown defender. Regardless of why, i think at the time this was a clever move by Murray, that just didnt work out how he hoped. And it ultimately impacted Mckees career negatively. Mckee, as far as I know, is not known for his lateral or backwards movement. His known for his ability to accelerate quickly going forwards. AKA he has the tools to become an enforcer/checking line forward, like you said youd hope hed become. Lets see how he does at higher levels. Glad he graduated and is now moving up. Does anyone know if he played D for Toledo this year? Hoping they moved him to wing. -

Didnt reread through the threads, but if I remember correctly i was excited about Frk, Paterson, and Mckee. Ive done a full 180 on Frk and Paterson since, but im gonna stubbornly hold out on Mckee till about 2028. -

Mike McKee just finished his degree and time at Western Michigan this season. Give him a break. I predict a break out season for him this year. Maybe he even makes the team outta camp. Kids good. -

Bashing Holland. I can handle that. But you leave Long John Silvers out of this. -
Artemi Panarin to Blue Jackets for Brandon Saad

Lol I didnt say hes good. I said id sign him to be a 6 man for 1.5ish. I think thats pretty far left of his 4.25 playing in the top 4, wouldnt you agree? In what world does that say i think his contract is reasonable lol? -
Ericsson to me is similar to Methot or Stralman. Theyre very good next to a Hedman or Karlsson, but take that partner away and they suddenly are exposed. Kronwall isnt good enough to make Ericsson look good. If Methot stays in Vegas im betting he looks a lot worse than he did during his time in Ottawa

Ah so blind hatred it is -
Its interesting bc if he shakes up the team, it will probably be with the intention of going for the playoffs. If he doesnt i think it says hes more committed to a possible tank, as he wont be able to add anything meaningful in our cap situation.
-
I can talk about Dahlin all day. Kid is phenomenal. Hes closer to a Karlsson IMO though. Im torn cause i wanna see us tank for Dahlin or A. Svechnikov, but i want both! They could honestly go 1 and 2 next year.

Can we talk about someone besides Rasmussen? Kids Im most excited about: Lindstrom: Hakan pick, gotta love those. Sure he was taken a bit early, but so was Bertuzzi, and look where he is now. Hakan says today "were gonna work on getting the N out of that name" lulz Kostkansalo: big reliable defender. Excellent defensive positioning and gap control. I see him as a steady partner for a high flyer like Saarijarvi or Hronek. Zablocki: disruptive bertuzzi type. Loves to mouth off at opponents and agitate. Petruzzelli: massive goaltender. Very highly regarded. Many saying he should have went higher. Think we might have a steal here. Setkov: hakan pick. Mostly unknown on draft day a lot like Datsyuk was, which screams steal in my book. Big and still growing. Excellent outlet passer. Webb: played very few games so theres a cloud of mystery there. Guessing the wings saw something in him that piqued their interest. The mystery adds a bit of excitement in my mind. Gilmour: played for Saginaw so we most likely have a big inside track on the kid. Like with Webb, that mysery adds some excitement to me. Rest of the boys look big and rugged. If anyone has some interesting background on one please share.

Right, kid looks a lot like Larkin and AA. He'll probably be a winger like them.
-
Is he a good or bad pick? Personally, im going to do the same thing with Ras that i do with most players. Wait until there's a general consensus on which he is, then argue the oppsite.
-
Honestly, what was Holland thinking? Do we need a centerman? Nope Do we need a 6'6" player? Nope Should we be taking guys mostly ranked at #10 early at #9? Nope completely outrageous, and boy im really miffed
-
WORST. DRAFT. EVER.
-
Youre always sour at #9
-
I cant figure out whos more stupid... Vegas for not selecting the worst starting goalie in the league? Or Holland for selecting a top 12 ranked player at 9? What morons, amirite?
