Sad we never made good use of Jurco. Jurco's favorite player and hero growing up was Hossa, hope to see them on a line together.

Wow Nill really made the most of that Cole/Eaves trade

Sounds like Drew Stafford is on the block in Winnipeg

Can We Please Stop Putting Teams In Unsustainable Cities?

I spoke too soon about the Isles moving to Hartford. Just found this: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-02-24/ny-rangers-owner-dolan-said-to-back-new-home-for-islanders Sounds like even the Rags want to keep the Isles in NYC -
https://streamable.com/orvkw 16 year old Swedish D-man Rasmus Dahlin. I thought I was watching Datsyuk when I saw this video. The way he dekes and shoots looks very Datsyukian. Found a few articles saying this kid is going to be the star of the 2018 draft class and possibly the next Erik Karlsson. Something to tank for perhaps?

Hartford put forward a plan to build a new arena at about the same time Barclays told the Isles they can't play there anymore. If there actually going to build it who knows. I would rather see Carolina move back to Hartford than the Isles moving there, but yeah QC is the obvious first choice. Key Arena is near where I live and is NHL ready... but Chris Hansen, the guy pushing for an NHL team here, has made it pretty clear he wants to build a new facility in the SODO neighborhood, which is where the Seahawks and Mariners play. I'm more on that train. Makes sense to keep the Yotes out west IMO. I would also love to watch that young team grow up and win something here. Maybe I can finally give up on the dead wings then -

Agreed. What about Hartford? -
Just realized the Rags don't have a 2nd round pick this year. How about a 2017 3rd rounder and Adam Clendening? (Just for the lols with Ken and Mick saying Glendening and Clendening) We already have 8 picks this year though, in a weak draft, and were probably getting more. How does everyone feel about trading for 2018 picks instead? Do we have that level of patience at LGW?

http://www.azcentral.com/story/news/politics/legislature/2017/02/23/arizona-coyotes-proposed-395-million-arena-deal-on-life-support/98321466/ Doesn't look like Arizona's arena deal is going to make it through the senate (hooray!) They can have my tax dollars if they want to be in Seattle (just give me hockey please) -
Someone call Jackie Treehorn
-
Yeah he seems pretty loyal to the Franchise, despite their complete ineptitude.
-
Didn't Vanek, Visnovsky, and Wisniewski all do that to the islanders in a short period of time? Garth Snow is such a moron.
-
I think he's been our best player outside of Zetterberg, but yeah I'm ok with it. I think he gets at least 4 mil AAV and probably something like a 3 year contract? Contenders will have more money when UFA roles around.
-
Khan seems to think that won't happen. Basically said flat out in one of his latest pieces that Vanek enjoyed his time here, but he's not coming back. Will sign a longer deal at much bigger price with a contender.
-
I find this hilarious. Am sober though.

Marchenko is a high IQ defensive Dman IMO. I believe hes a Stralman, Methot type. Hes the kind of low end player you can play next to a top end guy and they both do really well. All speculation on my part of course but would love to see what he does next to a gifted offensive D man. Might never happen unfortunately

Is this your first trade deadline? 90% of trades go down on the last day +10 style points for you sir Had I been smart and gone the extra mile to dress my post up a bit I would surely be receiving the attention I crave. But I did not. If I had a sword, this would be the moment I surrender it to you.

Thanks, you are too kind

I posted both these things this morning in this same thread when I was supposed to be working. ACKNOWLEDGE ME.

Where did you see this? All I've seen from Bob about Smith is that Holland has taken lots of calls on him and that he wants to meet with Smith's representatives before he trades him. Nothing about turning offers down.
-
Yeah, it's been speculated for a while that many back-room deals would/will go down with Vegas. I'm sure all 30 teams will know exactly who they are losing well before the expansion draft.
-
Kind of a dick move by Babcock not to trade Matthews to us
-
On the flipside to the Pens wanting to keep Fleury, multiple reports that Yzerman will in fact move Bishop. Apparently Bishop has a list of 8 teams he will block a trade to.
-
Hansen (VAN) has submitted a list of teams he would like to be traded to (NTC) Wideman (CGY) is open to waiving his NTC Colorado is heavily scouting Philly. McKenzie also reporting that Shattenkirk will be on the move. McKenzie is also saying that the Pens want to keep Fleury.
-
Dreger reporting that the Blues have committed to moving Shattenkirk at the deadline. Things are getting spicy! Kasan reporting that Rutherford is trying to add another D-man on top of Hainsey (Pens have injuries). So perhaps they're still in on Smith. I'm sure if we retain salary like Carolina did we can move him there.
