    Babs got fired

From the same network that had Weinstein and Matt Lauer basically running amok as full bore sexual predators for years "Oh nooooo JR went on a popular raunchy hockey podcast and made a sexually charged joke!" Anyway back to you Kathryn and this other guy who played 3 games in the NHL once

I tend to think our middle of the ice is fine really. Rasmussen/Larkin/Veleno can handle the top 2 spots between them in a few seasons. N and Glendog Millionaire can handle the bottom roles. I just want the dynamo in Lafreniere

Yeah MacEachern won the Mr. Hockey award (best high school player in Michigan) a few years back playing for Brother Rice. Knew a couple dudes who were just leaving that program when he was coming in and they always talked about how good he was. I watched him play in college a handful of times when i was still living in Michigan. Never thought he was that great honestly. He doesn't look to be that great at the NHL level so far either. They can have Ericsson and Daley for him.

Sounds like he's perfectly alright which is good. But gotta think his athletic career is over now. Gotta take it easy after something scary like that happening.

I didn't check the standings. Do the Habs even have a realistic shot at the playoffs anyway? If his career is in question moving him to LTIR might save Nashville from that recapture penalty.

Meh I tend to think that the widespread assumption that playing defense automatically takes from a players offense is a false dichotomy. It may have been more true pre-2012ish. But nowadays every center is asked is to play low and help their D significantly. It may also be somewhat true for a select few players, like AA. Who's looking to cheat a bit and capitalize on the transition. But Larkin doesn't cheat this year, and he didn't last year, or the year prior. Hey you invoked Crosby, not me. We can agree to disagree then on Sid. I think he's an excellent two-way player. Bergeron or Kopitar level D? No. But then again Larkin doesn't have that level of D either. .

I shoulda been more specific. Folks named Malte or Frederik I would waive Perlini, Neilsen, Erne, and Abdelkader for just about any new player. There's room.

So the excuse for Larkin we're going with now is "he doesn't have the energy to play offense" Crosby plays a solid defensive game, and oh look he scored 100 pts just last season, not at all dissimilar from his prior seasons.

I'm confused as to why you both think his play in the defensive zone affects his play in the O zone. Sure, I can see the argument that Larkin may have more defensive responsibilities in the Dzone this year. Playing low to help out a weak defense. But that has absolutely nothing to do with his play in the O zone. It's not like he is staying high in the O zone in order to cover for the defense in the trap.

So the excuse we're going with is "Larkin plays defense" He sure does, but I don't think that helps your point in the slightest. He also plays in the Ozone and his scoring when there has declined. While Mantha's and Bertuzzis has gone up.

What's your point? Larkin is -18 himself. Again, them why do these same factors seem to have no effect on Bertuzzi and Mantha?

Sure seems like a lot of guys might be departing, which should make some folks happy. Handemark and Stromwall would be warm bodies and healthy competition. I could see these deals being contingent on whether or not Yzerman can make the moves he wants at the deadline. Like if he can't move Helm or something similar then maybe he doesn't finalize this Handemark contract.

So were you referencing me then? The same post where I said his albatross wingspan is so wide he can touch both half boards simultaneously lol?

Bertuzzi is better than he was last year. Mantha is better than he was last year. Larkin should be benefiting from that. You can claim Mantha being injured was the problem, but Mantha has been on Larkin's wing for more than half the season. When he wasn't Fabbri was mostly there and he's only on pace for 10 less points than Nyquist was last year. Not really that radical.

    Our Young Players

In the last 30 days of the 2018/19 season he scored 11 pts in 11 games if that's what you're looking for. He did that with ding ding Bertuzzi and Mantha, his same primary linemates this year with Fabbri and Zadina subbing in for Mantha when injured. Glendening has been up n down the roster but Larkin has played overwhelmingly more with Mantha, Bertuzzi, Fabbri, and Zadina. I mean you can attempt to build up Larkin but disparaging Fabbri, Zadina, and Bertuzzi all you want, but then why has the same lack of talent surrounding Mantha not affected him at all? And if Larkin needs Mantha on his wing in order to produce then we have a serious problem on our hands and Larkin is much more of a flawed player then I would even care to contend.

Leading scorer for Malmo. #8 scorer in the SHL. Interesting I guess. If Handemark and Stromwall rumors are true it's almost like Yzerman is letting Andersson build this team. Agreed that Kip should respond to all your points, but also no one is taking anything out on you, get real.

Larkin is on pace for 21 goals and 57 pts. For a 23 year old player who last season was on pace for 35 goals and 79 pts, that is pretty abysmal, and disappointing to say the least. Instead of building on last years success he's done the opposite. It's not like this is a sophomore slump or teams just starting to figure him out. This is player with close to 400 games played already. I don't take "this roster sucks" as an excuse for his lack of production even a little. Of all the players on the team he's had the best line-mates of anyone. Mantha, Bertuzzi, Fabbri, and Zadina have all found tremendous success in their production, yet Larkin hasn't. Is he a future 1C/2C is debatable. But it's only debatable because he's playing like a 2C this year. Going into the season I would have cited him as an obvious 1C.

Your arguing in favor of gamblers fallacy. Sure Veleno could be better than Rasmussen, but chances are he's not. And comparing both their 1st pro seasons suggest he's not. And comparing both's current seasons suggests he's not. I reckon if we had you rank prospects every year and publish it you would probably have the same success rate as whoever the hell Wheeler and Bultman are. Take that as a true compliment if you like. Rasmussen IS bigger and stronger, and DOES have quite a few more points. No amount of mockery changes that. Nobody is bitching and complaining except you with this very statement. If you don't want to engage me you don't have to. You can bow out any time. Only thing you'll be tripping on is leg sweeps friend. so many leg sweeps you'll be begging me for an uppercut.

Ima knock ya down guy "CRL has a knack for presenting uncomfortable truths that don't automatically align with my worldview". You're welcome to call me out on any fallacious arguments I present. So far you haven't. The thing is, what I'm presenting isn't at all provocative. I'm arguing a top10 draft pick - who's performing better than a player drafted top30 right now - has more potential. Unless you incorporate prior notions or individual biases, this is a pretty easy argument for me to stand on. Low hanging fruit if you will. Not at all as ambitious as my Zadina endeavors. No draft pick is assured. Even the #1 isn't assured. And you know that. That's not what anyone is suggesting. However statistically Rasmussen's draft pedigree does suggest he has a better shot than Veleno at NHL success. These trend lines also match for points produced by round. So not only is Rasmussen likely to play about 15% - 20% more games than Veleno. He's also likely to score about 15% - 20% more points over the course of their careers. Couple that with the success rate both are displaying in the AHL this year and it's easy to see why a gambling man would bet on Rasmussen and not Veleno.

Were all on a real edge. Do i honestly kno how to handle a wings team this bad? No. Im an angry man in a foreign land. I hope yzerman burns this team to the ******* ground and sacrafices everyone to jesus.

Ill tell ya this poop team has made me a real sour puss. Id go as far as to stay im downright flustered. Larkin aint no 1st line center. AA aint no 2nd line center. Big maybe if Mantha truly is a 1st line winger and hes about to be 26. Bertuzzi and Fabbri aint no 1st liners no how neither.
