Pilgrimage to Detroit - Must Do Things

Shame the post is gone. I wouldnt know what bars are good down there these days i guess. I lived in GR for 2 years. Can second the fact that its a great city. Tons of good breweries, bars, and eats. Do they still do dollar beer dollar dog night at the griffs games? I used to spend the whole first period standing in lines shoveling beers and dogs into my face b4 i sat down to watch hockey. Good times. -

He won the cup when he shoulda been tanking in anticipation of Datsyuk leaving -
With Rattie blues bros were some upset bc they got nothing for him and he didnt even need to be waived i guess. Boucher has already been waived like 5 times by multiple teams including the Devs this season so i think Devs fans were prepared for that. Nieto i have no idea, but hes from long beach so i bet theres some SJ fans butthurt about it

I don't think Williams was signed to replace any of the players you were talking about. Weiss was supposed to be Filppulas replacement. So you wanted Tatar and Nyquist to get more playtime as your solution to replacing our aging stars??? -

Well one popular one is Cobo Joe's. Right near by, and there will be a pens/habs jersey on the the ground to wipe your feet on when you come in the door. My favorite was always The Post though. Standing room only, shoulder-to-shoulder kind of place. Not sure if it's still around, but that's where I'd go. -

I'm not bothered. Just curious on how you wanted Holland to replace all those players. Not making the same depth signings he did and drafting grittier players doesn't really answer that though. -

What would you have done differently to replace Lidstrom, Holmstrom, Stuart, Rafalski, and Datsyuk? -

It's scary because he WAS the future of our netminding. Howards got 2 years left after this one, and I feel comfortable riding him for that time, but when that's up he will be 35. So we got 2 years to start finding a replacement. Would hate to do that through trade or FA where we will surely overpay for a decent goaltender. So we gotta hope one of Coreau, Paterson, Perry, Vanpottelberghe, or Larsson pan out? Scary stuff. Coreau is probably destined to be at most a backup. Vanpottelberghe has terrible stats in Switzerland right now. Perry having a terrible year in college this year. Paterson doing well in the ECHL (was just named ECHL goaltender of the month) Larsson is having a pretty good year on his Swedish team right now, but will only be 20 when Howards contract is up. If Paterson doesn't pan out we might be up a creek signing Bryzgalov or something

Rattie claimed by Carolina Boucher claimed by Vancouver Nieto claimed by Colorado Halak clears waivers Khudobin clears waivers Gonna be tough moving goalies folks

3.06 GAA + 0.897 SV% + Attitude Problems = Goalie of the future 1.96 GAA + 0.934 SV% + No Trade Clause = Trade him Am I doing this right?

Yeah not because you have one of the weakest teams at the tournament... Again, you're going way off topic. If you want to know why other leagues aren't poaching Cory Emmerton out of the NLA I'd be happy to discuss that with you in my inbox.
-
Got out of the NLA? The NLA doesnt produce talent worth stealing lol. Its a hodge podge of rejects from the AHL and other parts of Europe. Message me if you want to continue this. This thread is about the juniors tournaments. Hopefully crap goalie can steal one for his crappy team again.
-
TIL Arcobello, Klasen, other no-namer, and who-cares are all great hockey players. Who knew. Phoenix is a great place to live too, but winnipeg is still better hockey and produces better hockey players. How many more AHL rejects does the NLA need before theyre ahead of the KHL? To stay on topic, who does America have the best shot against? Sweden or Russia, havent watched either play yet.
-
Yes the Swiss get the best players. Corey Emmerton, Classes Linus, Tommi Santala, Julien Jumpers, soooo many BIG names lol. NHL, KHL, SHL, Finnish league, Czech league, and AHL are all superior. But your attendance is nice, so there's that....
-
To send him down we'd have to expose him to waivers. So that's only going to happen if Holland is comfortable with giving him away for free.

Rattie claimed by Carolina Boucher (Lansing native, I played with his uncle back in the day) claimed by Vancouver

One of the most competitive leagues? Compared to what? The DEL?

It's more telling the fact that the Wings are letting this leak to the public to me. They rarely ever let drama out from behind closed doors, and when they do, like with Mantha, it seems to have a purpose. Hence why I made the comment that hopefully this shames him a bit into fixing his attitude. He has a problem and they want to fix it.

Blues alum game yesterday. Probably sleeping off all the barley pops he had with Chrissy Pronger last night.

So after not being selected to start he walked off the ice when he was supposed to stick around. And a teammate confronted him about it, and he still refused to go back on to the ice. Imagine if that teammate who confronted him was Zetterberg (just assuming because he's captain). This kid is not doing himself any favors with the way he is playing and acting. A little public humiliation seemed to fix Mantha. Hopefully this will do the same. Still this solidifies in my mind that Mraz has become the expendable one in net.
