Baskin Robbins has 31 flavors. its all coming together now -
Do you actually have anything constructive to add to this conversation, or are you just mad because you misread my original post? I'll recap: I stated that it was my opinion that our first selections in the draft have been poor for the past 10 years. If you hold a different or opposing opinion to that please feel free to share and I will engage you. If comparing our first selections to the 29 other teams in the league, weighted by draft position, is something you would like to do, feel free, I'd love to see it. Get started soon though, that should be a bit of work!

Game # 31 Darren Eliot wore # 31 There are 31 days in the month of December Mike Green is 31 years old We will score 31 goals tonight confirmed LGW -
Not true. We drafted Johan in 04.
-
And I'm not making that case either. I said our first selections have been pretty bad the last 10 years, and you proceeded to make a sarcastic comment about it. So perhaps reading more thoroughly will help next time.
-
So Gallant is available. Hitch might be available. Oh and Patty Wa is available........
-
I thought Mexican water bugs were fast
-
Lou has made plenty of terrible decisions over the years. IMO most overrated GM of all time.
-
Tatar and Nyquist were not our first selections in their drafts..... Are you too busy being sarcastic to go look at our first selections from the past 10 years? Larkin and Mantha have been pretty much our only good selections in that time frame.
-
Jiri Hudler is never around when you need him
-
Go look at our first picks from the last 10 years. They're really not very strong.
-
Who's sitting for Lash?
-
Sounds like you should un-hear it then
-
Really like that top line. All 3 of them deserve top line duties. And agreed on swapping AA and Glendog to make the lines ideal.

http://www.mlive.com/griffins/index.ssf/2016/12/top_prospect_evgeny_svechnikov.html Short read on Svech's year so far. Sounds like Nelson is working with him to improve his defense and play away from the puck. Also reducing his stick infractions (he leads the team in pims)
-
Still have my Big Snake #69 jersey waiting just in case
-
Sounds like Emdog got himself an LGW account Like I said earlier in this thread there's about 4 guys ahead of Svech at the moment. And in that I mean they're clearly more ready for the NHL than he. But hey if you wanna screw up Svech like we did Jurco, by all means. Just cause Sheahan sucks doesn't mean Svech is ready. Now were talking. Except Mraz will never be better than Howard.
-
Svech cant score with top 6 mins in the AHL so we should promote to top 6 mins in the NHL. Rightttttt.

I like the top line. Line 2 is crap. I actually like the 3rd line despite the lack of production from all 3 of them. Hoping playing together will spark all 3. 4th line is decent, but AA should swap positions with Glen-Dog. -
Well if the current trend continues and the sky has really fallen, then yes we will likely be even worse next year. My point is maybe we should be holding on to guys who can actually play, like Vanek, instead of unloading this year, and waiting till next.
-
To get back to the heart of this thread... Is this really the ideal year to draft? Here is a quote from Corey Pronman's (ESPNs NHL Draft and Prospect Analyst) Reddit AMA the other day... "In general yes this draft class is bad. Between top guys like Patrick/Liljegren/Vilardi being hurt, to a lack of blow you away talent, this isn't the season to suck. Suck next season though, 2018 is looking stacked between Veleno, Svechnikov, Dahlin, Merkley etc." THIS ISN'T THE SEASON TO SUCK Holland of course could unload some pieces for 2018 draft picks, but one of the main points in tanking is raising the rank of your own draft selections. This may be a draft where that really doesn't matter all too much. And why unload pieces that can help you now or next year, when there's a whole other trade deadline before that draft? On the flipside, I see expansion looming in the distance. If we unload pieces now, we lessen the risk of losing pieces for nothing at the expansion draft. Thoughts?
