Trade deadline bait available this year?
ChristopherReevesLegs replied to nyqvististhefuture's topic in General
They did trade a large piece of their core that year. Matt Duchene who had just turned 26. Mr. Mantha and AA will both be 26 very soon as well. I say we trade em both. -

Age seems to matter to you when you apply it to Veleno and Rasmussen, yet it doesn't seem to matter to you when applied to Lafreniere and Byfield? Is that really so dumb to notice? And not to mention Rasmussen was drafted much higher than Veleno, but Byfield and Lafreniere's draft position should be relatively close. One would think the ages play more into Lafren and Byfield than the former. -

Yeah we might lose a player that helped us become a historically bad NHL team. I'm completely ok with that. Gotta break eggs to make an omelet! -

So you're invalidating your own point then? Age doesn't matter? -

Sure seems like your opposed to trading one of these guys, despite "any player has a price" -

But if Veleno has more potential than Ras because of younger age, should it not also be true that Byfield has more potential than Lafreniere due to younger age? -

Interesting. Are you opposed to selling all young players? -

Red Wings will never live down picking Rasmussen over Brannstrom. We know. It's been your pinned tweet for months. What's the connection? -

Next two weeks (and draft time) will be interesting. Every "core" guy not named Larkin or Hronek have contracts that need to be renewed. Yzerman needs to either decide if he sees a future there and invest in them, or possibly trade them. The possible return on a Mantha or AA or Bertuzzi or Fabbri would be tantalizing to say the least. We don't really have anything to lose at this point by trading them. We're gonna be awful again next year anyway. I think some might argue you re-sign them regardless and push into next season to see what they can do. Then trade them b4 when they are UFA expiring. I disagree. I think the RFA control will make them extra valuable on the open market. If Yzerman doesn't like Fabbri's defensive game for example, now is a great time to flip him. Like I said, we have nothing to really lose at this point anyway. Losers are losers. Some will survive the purge, many will not. I couldn't care less which one of them gets the rope at this point. -

And yet you have no rational argument against me besides boo hoo. This teams "core" isn't good enough and you know it. -

In fairness to Yzerman hes just a puppet of the man behind the curtain: James Devellano. Nothing will change until that string puller is gone. I am warming up to the Gallant plan though. He seems to be tough enough to assuage my need for a hard ass behind the bench. And hes proggressive enough to make the normies happy. Thats a compromise i can make. (But i still pray for the 2nd coming of he who should not be named) -
18 and already physically and mentally ahead of the AHL. YZERMAN CALL UP NOW

Adam Erne. Big fail. Brendan Perlini. Big fail. Kyle Wood. Big fail. Eric Comrie. Big fail. No waiver claims. Big Fail. Yzerman is a wanker. And the teams only gotten worse under his management. -
Sarcasm appreciated Kids got the play, the attitude, and the leadership. This team needed more someones with a little f*** you as well ala Bertuzzi. Future captain right there.

Should the Wings try to sign Lehner July 1st?
ChristopherReevesLegs replied to chaps80's topic in General
If the Rags are smart they will re-sign Georgiev to a cheap bridge which they can probably get since he has less than a full season under his belt. Then Lundqvist retires after next season and then they have Shesterkin and Georgiev. I don't think he's on the table as much as many seem to believe. -
Cholowski assigned to GR Wonder why? Maybe it's cause he sucks.

Seider takes a hit high and immediately retaliates with a Kronwall-esque hit. Love this kid. Then he gets to chirping in the box afterward too. He's like Kronwall, but not so nice, if that makes any sense lol
