You say that with such confidence, but you really have no idea I could also say: Would I trade future Yakupov for Veleno, Seider, and Howard. Suddenly that looks a lot nicer. The risk in a trade like that is Primeau, Romanov, and Suzuki could all amount to middling NHL players or complete busts. Whereas Lafren is probably gonna be real friggin good. Imagine if we traded Petruzelli, Veleno, and McIsaac for Lafren. I would do that trade in a heartbeat, and I think the team giving up Lafren for that package would be a fool to take it.

Agree with pretty much everyone's points on Batteries and Poolparty I think it really just comes down to if you are willing to accept the risk on Poolparty, or would you rather stick with the sure thing in AA. Personally, I'd do Poolparty for AA 1 for 1. If we can get a pick out of Holland with that all the better. I've never liked the way AA plays the game. He was experimented with at C, which is supposedly his natural position, but I think the defense is lacking to the point where the Wings gave up on that experiment relatively quickly. He's extremely talented offensively, but he is seemingly limited to take it to the net all on his own every play. IMO that's a pretty unique skill set, but its one ideally utilized on a 3rd or 4th checking line. You play him with your PKers because he will randomly get you a bunch of goals all on his own with out needing these players help. If we were a cup team needing to add depth scoring he would be awesome, but we're still trying to build out a core. AA is also gonna be 26 in August, and I think we're dangerously close to what you see is what you get with this player. A 40-60 pt guy. That's good value, but not a needle mover. Poolparty has had limited success in the NHL his first few years, but the potential to become a needle mover is still there for him. He's playing very well in the Liiga and will be 22 soon. He still has about 3 seasons to really develop his game. If he only ever amounts to a 30 pt winger that would suck, but I think giving up AA is well worth the risk still. If you believe translation factors at all, Poolparty would be on pace for 36 NHL pts this season. Not that impressive, but decent for a 21 year old.

I'd say I'm pretty content at this point in terms of the draft. If we don't get Lafren you guys have convinced me I should want Stutzle or Drysdale. Unless I find another Seider to JO about in the next few months I'll be happpy to draft any of those

IDK, big, smart, mobile... putting up points... he reads like a very possible top4 one day, and coming in at the end of the 2nd beginning of the 3rd that would not at all be unheard of. And Chicago signed him immediately after the trade... Kaski's on pace for a lot of points with Charlotte. I don't think he'll be anything crazy impactful, but goddamn it's like we didn't even try with this kid and just gave him away.

I'm keeping my eye on Kaski, but the 4th and especially Regula are the most concerning the 4th will probably be nothing, but then hey, we also pulled Nyquist, AA, and Ehn out of the 4th round recently. So that kinda sucks that it was used on Erne but whatever. But Regula... He's basically a 2nd rounder at 67th overall. He's big, he scores, he's RH, playing like a top OHL Dman this year, and he's a Detroit native.. and we traded him to Chicago of all places for 2 pts Perlini Feels bad man

I was thinking that. It's blurry but I don't think we have any other scouts with that dark of a complexion. Seider and Stutzle are good friends, and our GM and best scout are over there watching Stutzle's games together. Gotta say that's a pretty good sign. I'll be a lil bit bummed if we win the lottery and Stoots has to go to a different team. But then I'll remember we have Lafren and all is well.
