Dylan Larkin's comments on ASG Last Man In voting...
ChristopherReevesLegs replied to Phil Lesh's topic in General
Crosby isn't in the ASG If the ASG was about the best players Bertuzzi, Duclair, Holtby, Eric Staal, and Silvferberg wouldn't be there. Likewise, Marchand, Barkov, Kucherov, Ovechkin, Malkin, Marner, Bergeron, Crosby, Price (among many others) would be there. But that isn't the case. So you think Bertuzzi is "dishonorable" for accepting his invitation? He admitted he doesn't deserve to be there. ASG is marketing game that no one takes seriously. The players don't play hard and vets often turn down their invitations. Most fans don't watch the ASG, and no one cares how many times a player has been to ASG's. For laughs we voted in John Scott one year and they had the highest viewership they've ever had I believe. You can keep pretending it's some high honor to attend this thing and that Larkin is being noble by telling fans not to vote for him, but I will take him at his literal word. He simply would rather spend time doing something else. -

So then why do have sucha problem with me and not Dabura? According to you: There's the butthurt lol It's unfortunate that you have Larkin on such a high pedestal that he's immune to criticism. This is a player expected to be around a 70 pt center at this point in his career. He's currently on pace to be a 50 pt center. He deserves every bit of examination and criticism. I don't play favorites where Nielsen falling short of expectations gets all the bashing, but Larkin doesn't. The coke thing is a rumor. I've never said otherwise. In fact, I said I really don't care if he is using... His ASG comments were not smart at all. Not gonna apologize for giving him heat on that. Yeah man, I put some off the cuff trade together in response to Dabura, and you jumped down my throat. I think we can discuss what a Larkin trade would look like without that drama. -

Agreed which is why I said think there exists very few scenarios where Larkin is traded. He literally IS out centers right now. -

1. Exactly, it's not an honor, reward, trophy, or award, it's a popularity contest. And it seems pretty clear Larkin sees it the same way. 2. Point moot. We just established it's a popularity contest. -

Tomasino and Fabbro are definitely not in their prime I never said or implied that you want to trade Larkin You certainly seem to have a problem with ME in this instance Woooooooshhhhhhhhhhh That's the sound of the meme/joke flying right over ur head Not gonna lie, you came flying in pretty butthurt already. What's up? The only way you trade Larkin is if you're getting something really great in return. Maybe there wouldn't be any draft picks involved at all, and it would be like a Weber/Subban, Jones/Johansen, Drouin/Sergachev kinda deal -

Ok Agree to disagree I guess, for a roster player I assume Yzerguy would want at least one roster player in return, maybe that's Fabbro You seem to be operating under the false assumption that I wanna trade Larkin... Your overreaction to the slightest critique of Larkin speaks volumes though. -

I figure a deal for Larkin would have to include roster players. Jarnkrok + Ekholm + 1st (top 5 protection) + 2nd Bu yeah realistically there probably do not exist very many scenarios where Larkin gets traded. -

What are you on? He hasn't refused anything, or even been awarded "the honor" yet. Also it's a fan vote my dood. If he DID refuse that's basically a direct spit into the face of fans who voted him in. Not that he really considers it an honor anyway. He'd rather have the time off. -

Even if Larkin made the comments jokingly, Burke is 100% in the right to criticize him. Larkin is 23 and isnt going to the playoffs. He doesnt need the time off, he wants the time off... cause hes lazy and he sucks. The team being bad does not earn u time off. In fact it earns u the exact opposite. This entire team should be bag skated every day of the all star break. -

For Larkin I want a young center, a young Dman, and a high draft pick. -

The only thing that's changed for me with Larkin is that I no longer value him as untouchable. Still an amazing player, and you'd have to send me a lot of exactly what I want to get him out of my hands, but yeah I think for the right package I could be persuaded. Still think Larkin can be a 90 pt center if we put Lafreniere on his wing. -

that's definitely an odd one I don't see the Jackets as being a cup contender who needs Howard, and they don't really have the assets to become a contender at the deadline either. I think the prime destinations for Howard or Bernier are all divisional rivals. Toronto - needs a back up for Anderssen Buffalo - needs back up for Ullmark (Jimmy's hometown team) Florida - needs goalie help in general

No what's the scoop?

Pepes galore So Jim Montgomery had a drinking problem. Not as exciting drama as I hoped lol. Stars probably told him to get his s*** together and get sober and he didn't and got caught. Hope the firing wake up call helps him pull himself together. One of those things where he probably says getting fired was the best thing that ever happened to him in a few years. Guy can probably still get a job somewhere in the future too I would think. In unrelated news, I hope the Stars celebrated after that WC win and their livers are still feeling it! -
Whether it's in days or at the end of the season, we all knew it was coming.... "They expect one of us in the wreckage brother" Not sure how excited I am about Bylsma... Seems like a mediocre choice for a HC, although I guess Bylsma has always floated around to young upstart teams? Young Crosby's Penguins, young Eichel's Sabres... Kinda hoping he will just be interim. Otherwise I can see us taking another spin on the coach carousel again in a few years.

I knew it would happen, but it's still such bull s***. I mean what do that they expect? The Germans have a handful of good players and their in the hardest group
