He got a big raise because of his CHARACTER. Yzerman loves guys with CHARACTER. Fabs may not be fast, may not be big, may not be that astute defensively, may not even be that skilled. But boy does he show real CHARACTER out there. He could probably CHARACTER a puck into the back of the net if he just CHARACTERED a little more. Throw a weak check that takes you out of position? I'm glad you mentioned Seattle, as we are the first team with female scouts and about 40% of upper management is female, but we do have to do a better job at getting people of color in the room and into coaching positions and such. It shouldn't matter who the GM is. A bad contract is a bad contract. You inserting Yzerman into everything doesn't change that.
