Ha ha ha.  Another unfounded knock on AA.  Larkin is a minus 6 and minus 32 during his career.

I'm not saying AA should be getting Larkins minutes.  Larkin is a great player.  I'm saying that AA ne ds to play more if we are going to score more.

Just having aa little fun there. To be fair, AA is playing better this year, which I welcome. Still think the hype is overblown tho.

This is a very bad team right now. No one is saying that Athanasiou is elite or anything, but he is definitely deserving of top six minutes over Vanek. If you disagree with that, you're either not watching the games, or just trolling Jonas...

    Yeah, but Vanek is RH.

Which just shows how much natural talent he has, when he can look lazy and lost yet still end up with points. Imagine if he gave his all every shift?

Didnt Robert Lang play that way IIRC?

What's so funny?  I watched him play in the Q fairly often....  he was there to score and nothing more.

I'd trade him in a heart beat in a package for a youngish top 4 D.  He'd need to be packaged with Mantha or AA to have value in such a trade.

Maybe you should scout for the team then. The Wings clearly arent scouting their 1st rounders.

I know he’s the head european scout and probably gets last call but I recall someone else being responsible of players in finland , that’s what I’m saying I’m sure there’s a bunch of guys looking everywhere around Europe and who report to hakan as to who they like and are high on same with wright ... which is why when I hear wright is responsible for Larkin etc... i find it hard to believe he saw every single one of those guys play same like hakan and guys outside of Sweden like hronek

Every vet on this team has a ntc .... and it doesn’t hurt to ask you can make all these assumptions but no one knows but green

Read my lips. Green is playing out his contract in Detroit.

I also think we were the only fools who’d have given him that contract after he got injured which is why he came back and the obvious being comfortable with the guys in the room

if he had a chance to go to Vegas with his old gm and pay a lot less taxes I think he’s strongly consider it .... sunny tampa with a chance to win the cup and again a lot less taxes ? He’d strongly consider it

Point is if we get a strong enough deal for green it doesn’t hurt us to ask him if he’d consider waving his ntc to go to so and so

Wright is responsible for making the selections but he’s  taking advice from scouts I’m guessing, so outside of like zadina cause he fell into our laps like how we suppose to know if he’s the one who saw cholowski and said this kids the real deal? Same with hronek which I doubt was wright who saw him

hakan andersson you can pretty much assume he’s responsible for every Swede taken , I think we have a different scout for Finland so I don’t think saarijarvi falls to him ... maybe Filip larsson does?

If anyone knows which scouts we have where , following which leagues and countries let me know , just curious

Its wasnt foolish to give Green that NTC. He has been our best D (when healthy). Not unusual to give vet guys with Greens pedigree a NTC. And no, I don't think he would waive it for LV TB or any other destination. He still has another year on the deal. He has a young family. I dont think he moves them across the country for one year, nor do I think he would live in a separate city from them for a year. Not everything is about money, cups, or fame for these guys. For some, their family comes first. I believe Green is one of those guys.

So if someone calls and says we’ll give you a 1st and 2nds and 12 little caesars extra large pizzas for kronwall ken Holland will just say we can get little caesars pizzas for free and hang up?

No .  I am saying GREEN has a no trade clause in his contract (the player mentioned in ur post that I responded to). Holland can field all the offers he wants, but unless Green consents to be traded, he can't be. And no, I don't think Green waives it. He still has a year left on his contract and he had the NTC put in there specifically because he has a family and likes living in the Detroit Metro Area and doesn't want to move them.

apparently there’s a huge demand for right handed dmen and if Holland is smart he’d think of the future and throw green out there , I’m sure we’d get a 1st round pick + in return considering the team would get two chances at the cup with him .... maybe his old gm McPhee takes a shot with him ? Hoping Vegas can keep going upwards in the playoffs and keep building momentum

Chicago is 2 points behind us and same number of games played. Seems captain serious is doing well leading his team in tank mode

Worst case now is we pick 5th so who would the panel choose?

    BPA

Would be nice to get Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen from Buffalo. Currently playing in the OHL for the Wolves, huge reason why they're sitting second in their division. If he hadn't left to play in the WJC (where he helped Finland win gold), they'd still be in first place. He sees and stops quite a bit of rubber. He's obv a little ways away from pro, but he'd be a nice addition to the prospect pool. He's a game changing goalie, doesn't seem to get rattled, big kid at 6,5" 215, quick laterally, covers a lot of the net low.

But, Buffalo took him in the second round and have him signed, so i dunno if they'd be willing to part with him, or if the Wings have the pieces to spare for another goaltending prospect. Buffalo doesn't seem to be looking for goaltending help heading into the playoffs either.

I dont want him because I dont want to ever have to say the name Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen.

  9. I dont trade Goose or Howie for anything less than a first rounder. This team has 0 goalie prospects anywhere close ro ready if it all. UFA route for a goalie? Prepare to overpay for a goalie that another team let go for a reason. The likelihood that a 2nd rounder or later turn out to be as good as Goose is unlikely. Yes his numbers fluctuate, but even then its still better than what most 2nd rounders or later turn out to be.

I dont trade Jensen at all. A RH capable D for a later pick? Why? Just keep him.

  10. There is going to be a complete pie storm in here when KH resigns Goose instead of trading him. I mean we can hope for another Veleno to fall in our lap with that pick, but chances are that they wont be as good as Nyquist, so keep him.

If you took a concussion, turned it into a human, and made it the defense attorney for the NHL in its ongoing concussion lawsuit it would still be more progressive on just about every health related issue than the NFL.  The NFL is like the Mountain Dew of sports leagues.

The NFL is highly caffeinated and popular among southern folk? Or maybe thats Dr. Pepper? Yeah. Mountain Dew is trailer park Dom Perignon. But I love it.

I didn't realize Brossoit was doing so well for the Jets this season. 9-1-1, 2.10 GAA, .939 sv%, 1 SO. Solid UFA grab, although he wasn't really on any teams radar after mixed results in Edmonton when he did get to play. Hellebuyck is capable of playing a lot of games, but it's good they have a solid number 2, maybe rest him a bit before playoffs. He looked out of gas in the WCF last year. If I could pick any Canadian team to win the Cup, it would be the Jets. The rest can go pound salt.

What do u think his stats would be on this team? Having a good team in front of you pads your stats.
