But, hearing that Yzerman being high on character I could see him dangling Mantha as a trade piece. Do we need Risto though? Seeing us load up on RHD prospects at the draft and him being a bit of a project it doesn’t make sense to me. Depends on the other pieces I guess. I have no idea who they would have to add to make me happy.

Switch Bert for AA if you like. I just kept the first line together just because of their strong finish last season. When I think about it, you should really spread your talent over three lines anyway. Seems to be the way the league is going with LV and TB leading the way.

Read somewhere on twitter that Yzerman was shocked to see how far behind the red wings are regarding strength/conditioning/nutrition. If true; thats really dissapointing to hear. No excuse for a team that have the kind of pockets red wings do to not be on top of this.

If I were confident in my team being a contender for the next five years, then yes. You’ll probably end up trading at least half of those 1st rounders anyway for rentals. And late 1st round picks normally doesn’t end up as elite players. You would basically give upp 2 play-off rentals and 2 second-tier prospects in those 4 picks.
