Our 2nd rounder is almost a 1st. Plus we get to be ”on the clock” all night and day leading up to the second round of the draft. Pretty hyped about it desu.

Good thing about sucking is that you can have patience with these guys. There are open spots all over our defense for prospects to grab. We can let them all play and see how they fare. At 25 there might not be that much more to come but we got the time to find that out.

Thats basically the group I was referring to. Hronek is already penciled in. So lets say Seider becomes a 1A defenseman and Hronek a 1B/2A. Then we basically need a prospect and an acquisition to fill out the top 4. McIsaac and Johansson are the first I think of to grab that last spot. The rest of the guys should be able to fill out the bottom pairing.

I think "tanking" will be there no matter what draft/lotto format. It is always gonna be necessary for teams to get rid of the old, bring in the young and start anew. Especially under a salary cap-system where chasing the cup for a longer period of time will probably f*** up your cap structure. ^^This. Exhibit A: the Oilers.

Everybody in swedish hockey is low key hyped about this kid. Nobody expected him to make the team to play in SHL this season but he was too good to send back to juniors . He played on average almost 13 min a game.

Because they think they can make a difference? A good coach would think so. Yzerman is wrong when he says we need to improve the team first to judge the coach. The record under Blashill is not only a testament to his players. Hiring a better/good coach is a way to improve the team. A good coach is not the icing on the cake. Its fundamental.

I realized I shouldnt have put Byfield in that group as his stats doesnt stand out in that way. But looking at both Rossi and Prefetti they have a huge number of assists this year. Numbers that in the last couple of years only have been matched by players like Morgan Frost and Jordan Kyrou in their draft+1 or +2 seasons. Rossi especially seems to benefit from his teammates also scoring big numbers too as the 67's had 4 players in the scoring top ten this season.

Read somewhere that goaltending this year in the OHL has been abysmal. When asked about the goalie trademarket in juniors this year one scout said something like: "Can you even find two goalies in the OHL worth trading for?". Something to think about when it comes to Byfield, Rossi, Perfetti etc. Their numbers might be inflated. Sorry for not being able to provide source.
