What a s*** show. Sometimes this coach doesn't know who his best players are. We got complete toolbags out on the powerplay. Czarnik is like a poor man's Luke Glendening, but the coach thinks he's Mario Lemieux. I have no idea what I'm watching tonight. These guys look like the bad news bears.

I really think this will be the last of the SWINDLE years for the SCAM. Meaning - he could swindle some GM's in that pick 6 thru 10 range with future #1 picks. There have only been a handful of really good players taken in the pick 21 to 32 range over the last 15 years: Kevin Hayes, Evgeny Kuznetsov, Brock Nelson, Rickard Rakell, David Pasternak, Adrian Kempe, Brock Boeser, Travis Konecny, Tage Thompson, and Jake Oettinger. The Red Wings are at the point where they're about to enter the 21 to 32 pick range for a good while. I wouldn't mind seeing the SCAM trade away our 24 first, 25 first, 26 2nd, and roster player (Fabbri) to move up in the draft to get a guy like Iginla or Buium. We need better odds on the one guy we take, as our prospect pool is deep at this point. The teams in the pick 6-10 range need more picks to have chances at more guys panning out into NHLers over the next 4-5 years. It's a win win for both teams. I'm ok with it, but I wouldn't give up too much. He's not what we need. He's part of the Matthews34 school of hockey. He doesn't scare anybody when it's time for the playoffs. We need Kirk Maltby and Dave Brown type guys that give us the upper hand in the post season. Not saying we don't need a Brendan Shanahan. We definitely need one more power forward up front that can mix it up. But it doesn't seem like there are any in this draft. So we've got to wait to get our Tage Thompson in a future draft.

Yah, we should do what we can to get this kid. He's going to be a keeper.

After I already created one. Mo Cheese saw it and was like "WTF?" -
http://www.mynhldraft.com/NHL-Mock-Draft/ Right now, the guy we need most that we can probably get to is Tij Iginla. Vancouver just proved that zero grit isn't going to get you anywhere in the playoffs no matter how much skill you have. We need grit. This guy has it. And I bet a team between 7 and 10 draft slots would like to get our 15 and next year's first to allow us to move up. I'd be willing to do that if I was the SCAM.
-
you might be right. We'd need to give up Johansson, Berggren, and our 1st. I think it would be worth it, but that's a pretty tough gamble to take for the Wings. Johansson and Berggren are NHL ready now, so it's tough to just scrap their 3-4 years of development in the system.

Id like to see the SCAM do what ot takes to get Buium

A 40 goal scorer isnt going to drop to 15.

s*** s*** pass leads to unnecessary turnover. Stupid

https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/detroit-red-wings/latest-news/pros-and-cons-of-a-simon-edvinsson-and-moritz-seider-defense-pairing- We have to split them up if the other 4 defensemen include Chiarot and Petry. There is no way around that. If we bring up Johansson and ASP, then we don't have that problem We could play Edvinsson-Seider, Johannson-ASP, Holl-Maatta and feel comfortable with our transition game. But the SCAM has already thrown a monkey wrench into next year by declaring ASP a Swedish League project. Big mistake, imo. Give him prospect camp, training camp, and the pre-season to earn a spot. If he shows up zit faced and weakling beta male status, then send his ass back to Euro camp. If he trains balls this summer with Raymond and shows up sigmachad ASP in September, then get his ass in the lineup already.

Edvinsson is a key piece. The Griffins are like the 2008 Red Wings withOUT Lidstrom when Edvinsson doesn't suit up. Bad time to get injured.
