Yah, he's fought 3 of the leagues toughest in Martin, DeLauriais, and Reaves in a short amount of time. Pretty much draws or small losses in them all, but the other guys all felt it. His elbow was dirty, but guy is 6'7”. He needs to be more careful than other guys because of his height. He's everything we want Soderblom to be. Wish we could trade.

Kane, Sprong, Gost have earned it

I'm not fully convinced Copp is too big of a problem. As we ditch the TRASH (Chiarot, Petry, Holl, Gost, Perron, Fabbri) and add the youth (Edvinsson, ASP, Johansson, Wallinder, Kasper, Danielson), I have a feeling we are going to get more out of our borderline guys (Veleno, Rad, Compher, Copp, Sprong, Berggren). You need SPEED in the NHL. Our borderline guys just don't have it. So you have to put them on lines with quicker guys and have good defensemen that can transition the puck. The fastest skater on the ice is the one who only has to skate from 70 feet away because his defensemen and centerman are using quick passes to generate defense to offense momentum. We got a small glimpse last night of how Edvinsson's skillet does just that. Puck goes from our dots diagonally across the ice to their blue line in half a second and we are on the attack. We have 4 defensemen that can skate and move the puck like that (Walman, Seider, Edvinsson, and Johansson) and 2 in the works (ASP and Wallinder). Yzerman just has to let his youth play is all.

He's a great skater

Copp, Veleno, and Rasmussen just don't play with enough intensity. They play like they are trying to avoid mistakes instead of playing like they are trying to destroy people, get the puck, and then embarrass the other team's defense. Lalonde has neutered half our team. It's lame.

1) We can't address this without addressing 2 and 3 first 2) Yzerman wont bite the bullet and get rid of the problems (Chiarot, Petry, Holl). Next year would have been the perfect time to get Edvinsson, Johansson, and ASP in the lineup day 1. We are committed to the old vets unless Yzerman can work some magic over the summer. Never should have needed to, tho. Chiarot and Holl with 1/2 salary retention we're both easily tradable at the deadline 3) The Thompsons and Wilsons of the NHL don't grow on trees. We need better draft position to acquire them. We are in no man's land right now, tho. We needed Soderblom to juice out and become Lyle Alzado on skates. He appears content to be Minute Bol tho. Back to 1). Right now, it's Danielson or Lombardi. Kasper is projecting as 3C material, and that's ok. We need a 3C that doesn't cost 5 mil per. But we REALLY need a 2C that's really a 1B. And unless Danielson or Lombardi suddenly metamorphosize into Dylan Cozens, we are going to have to trade for a guy like that. Ziemmerberg

Just saying it's going to take Chicago exactly 3 years to produce a solid top 6. We are WAY behind upfront. I like where we stand G and D tho. We just need to play our draft picks to fix the D and G situation. Top 6 we are going to need a miracle tho.
