This just isn't true. Analysts OFTEN use plus/minus as a metric to support a player's usefulness. It's still kept as a star for that reason, despite having possession metrics stats now that help decipher further how a player impacts the flow for their team by deployment. I only use the stats as a check against what I see. I usually watch goals against one extra rewind to see who is causing the breakdown in the defense and if it could have been avoided with a better play. Chiarot and Petry are consistently failing to transition the puck effectively to a forward, and this leads to a large amount of opposition opportunity. It was on full display last night because the other team's shots were going in, but it's like this almost every game even when the goalie is making the saves. The possession metrics of Chiarot and Petry validate the "eyeball test". This team got handcuffed by its GM. That's just unacceptable to me.

We need to make the EASY move first and see what happens. Chiarot - Bench. In Edvinsson. Petry - Bench. In Johansson. Make that change first and see if we move in a positive direction. I'm 100% sure we will. But start with trying that. Letting Chiarot and Petry put us in the hole every game just can't continue.

yes. I like his game. He has that mojo due to always being in motion. He's good. It's been all year. I have no idea why I'm the only one who is completely livid about it. Every time these guys touch the ice, it's a cycle fest with our team being on its heels. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Remember when the Vipers let Gordie Howe take a shift when he was 60 something years old? This is what playing Chiarot and Petry out there is like. But for 20 minutes a game! It's torture as a fan.

I'll respect your wishes. Pretty clear what a GOOD, YOUNG, MOBILE defense can do to a HORRIBLE, OLD, SLOW defense tonight. I'm sorry, but if we don't get Edvinsson, Johansson, ASP, Tuomisto, and Wallinder up soon to help Seider out, this team is going to continue to get torched unnecessarily. That sucks.

This is a GM and Coach fail. Playing TRASH CASTAWAY VETS over high draft picks. Just stupid.
-
He's a total DUD. Ice capades. No grit.
-
Just watch 8 and 46. We have ZERO CHANCE every game because our GM and coach think these 2 guys are good. They are GOD AWFUL. But we can't bring up Johansson, Tuomisto, Edvinsson, ASP cuz Kip.

Chiarot sucks so ***** bad. Petry is a beer league player. Why are they playing?
-
Chiarot/Petry - minus, minus, minus And gives up another Thanks Ben/Jeff. That's 4
-
Chiarot MINUS 2. Petry MINUS 2. WHY DO PEOPLE KEEP DEFENDING THESE IDIOT NO TALENT TRASH PLAYERS? THEY ARE SINGLEHANDEDLY WRECKING AN ENTIRE HOCKEY SEASON. Yzerman is a fool.
-
Big surprise. Chiarot and Petry.
-
For me, 1000 face offs a year ends the discussion. I don't see a way to prove Stammer spends most of his time at W.

Yah

Might not be allowed cuz Kip

The biggest problem I see right now is quantity over quality at Center, Defense, and Goalie. Stamkos (9 mil)/Veleno (2 mil)/Danielson (1 mil) vs. Compher (5)/Copp (5)/Rasmussen (3) Lindholm (11)/ Edvinsson (1)/Johansson (1) vs. Chiarot (5)/Petry (2)/Holl (3) Husso (5)/Reimer (3)/Lyon (1) vs. Hellyebeuck (9)/Cossa (1) We have an abundance of TRASH supplemented with more trash right now. I'd rather have a small amount of stars supplemented with high draft picks. Post your Yzerplan flaws here.

Yup, they all moved over due to our center depth.

You're an antisemite. -
He's not. His face off stats are a LIE.
-
Rasmussen has NEVER played center. That's obvious cuz Kip.
-
Almost exclusively from the 40 years I've been watching The centers on Stamkos' line get kicked a lot, apparently. Lulz

It doesn't. You Know What proves he's playing center, tho?

I remember around 2002-2004, we had 8 or 9 forwards who were centers up to the NHL level. Yzerman, Feds, Larionov, Brown, Draper, LaPointe, Maltby, Dats, Zetterberg, Dandenealt.
