Changing my grade on Holl to a B. Im really starting to think that this guy is just a solid stay at home Dman and would pair FANTASTICALLY with Simon Edvinsson. He is only noticeable in a bad way when he gets paired with Gost against a good team. The rest of the time, he is unnoticeable. And Holl neing unnoticeable means he's doing well. Chia, Petry, and Gost are not good for our team in my opinion. But Holl and Maatta have played up to expectation.

That makes perfect sense. Check that link i posted a couple spots above with Seider's possession metrics. It FEELS (eyeball test) that Seider is always shutting down the attack and getting it out of our zone. The metrics might look poor because the other teams good players are probably always getting it back and coming back at us. I think Seider's possession metrics will start to sky rocket when we get a few of these young guys (Kasper, Danielson, Lombardi, Mazur, Berggren) up that can turn a defensive stop into continued possession the other way. We're so focussed on playing sound defensively right now that we might be spending a little too much time playing defense. Edvinsson will help change that too. He's a transition dynamo.

Seider was all world last night minus the blown tire. His positioning reminds me of Lids. He never allows the forward a scoring path. Always angles them into non scoring spots. So clean.

Agreed. His raw tools are better than 90% of the league's. Right now, he just doesn't have that playoff level. He'll get excitex with his power play minutes when we are up 2 goals. Then he'll coast thru the neutral zone while half a s s backchecking in OT. That's bush league. He's gotta set the example and grind. That point mattered. It's not an oh well. It's playoffs or missing the playoffs. Sucks to get F level effort from a guy getting paid big dollars.

Wings need to learn what it takes there. Lazy forwards shouldnt see OT ice time. If they cant back check, save em for the shootout. That's lazy ass effort from 93 there. Coach dumbazz needs to take note and make sure thats #17 or #36 out there in 3 vs 3 going forward.

Rasmussen looking a lot more fluid than he has all season. He's playing great between the bluelines. Head always up and disrupting plays with his long reach constantly.

We HAVE TO re-sign Sprong. This dude is gonna end up 20/35 from the bottom 6. That's what we wanted in our 2nd line guys. I cant see Yzerman letting this guy walk. Berggren-Veleno-Sprong could end up being the best 4th line in hockey for a good 5-7 year stretch. Give him 3.5 x 5 and give Veleno 2 x 5.

I think this only happens if we fall out of playoff contention by deadline. If we are in it, I think Edvinsson comes up a lot later in the year for good. He's over his max now for rfa/ufa purposes, so we arent saving years at this point. If we take a nosedive,then u unload Gost, Chia, Petry, Maatta, etc - as many as you can - and bring him up then.
