The Yzerplan The Vision Becoming Minnesota Repeating History Help 9/11
Scott R Lucidi replied to Troy McClure's topic in General
This. The one thing that Edvinsson brings tjat is hard to undetstand before you watch enough of his games is that the play stays less time in our end and moves forward for more time in the opposition's end. He's a fantastic transition defenseman like Seider. I am 100 percent sure his advanced stats/possession metrics will be off the chart in 2 more years. The puck just seems to get out of the Grif's end and to the other side easily when Eddog is out there. The footspeed, reach, vision, and passing ability are all fantastic. He's going to be goid. Reminds me of Jiri Fischer right before Fisch's knee injury. Powerful skating with head always up. -
Vrana was his only shet stain, but that wasnt Steve's fault.

Yah, I'd say 50% for Husso and 25% for Sprong. What do you think our return looks like for these guys?

His skating is elite. It looks like the puck finds Edvinsson because of that. He plays with his head up and always gets to a correct position 90% of the time. The 10% he screws up, his reach gives him a 75% chance of correcting. He's a defenseman that doesnt get cycled on often. That's what kills the Wings. Teams cycle on our slower defensemen too easily. -
Maatta - 100% chance Gostisbehere - 75% chance Perron - 100% chance Kane - 50% chance

The Yzerplan The Vision Becoming Minnesota Repeating History Help 9/11

Mike, you are DEAD WRONG and the opposite actually occurs with a guy like Edvinsson. In the NHL, he gets on the ice with Larkin, Debrincat, Veleno, and ASP. All guys who can move up and down the ice at his pace. This makes him BETTER than he is in the AHL, where he is playing with the Hiroses, L'eferences, and McIsaacs of the hockey world. Edvinsson's delay to the NHL is more about maturity at this point and less about ability. The stuff we dont see = commitment to nutrition and gym work is the base he is building more than likely. -

We actually just let go of ASP and Danielson because they arent any good because they arent in the NHL. -
What question would you ask him? Steve, Scott from LetsGoWings. We just saw Ottawa punk the team again and make the organization look like a powderpuff foitball team for the third time in 4 games. Are you planning on addressing the team's lack of a spine and reluctance to stand up for themselves? And when do you plan to have somebody in the organization that can actually protect the star players now that you have a few? It appears Seider and Chiarot dont think they need to do that.

If we dont bring up Edvinsson and Johansson, yes. -

Veleno looks better every year. That's what we need out of our young guys.

the backend is a complete mess. We have 4 SweDes and a 6'6" goalie that are really good hockey players, and Yzerman decided to sign a bunch of trash to take their spots. Real smart.

Dude, if we were playing our draft picks, I'd argue the team is top 5 talent wise. We are playing 4 shet defenders and 3 shet goalies tho. That's Yzerman's fault. But that has NOTHING to do with the team having zero character. As Rick said, Perron was the ONLY red wing that did anything after 2 guys from Ottawa gave Larkin a crosscheck with one intentionally to his head. This team needs to grow a set or it doesnt matter how good we are. Are we going to forfeit games to Ottawa going forward so we dont have our 8 million dollar players get smacked around? Thr organization's lack of response to this is disgusting, tbh.
-
Wrong. He DID deserve it. The entire sens team had OBVIOUSLY been told to give it to Larkin. 2 cross checks by 2 different players in a row. This wasnt an accident. This was premeditated bullshet. How many times do we need to watch Ottawa beat us up before we change something? 50? Edvinsson? Come on. He's a 20 year old giant teddy bear. We need to abandon the score for a game against yhe Sens and HURT a few of their to guys. Sucks, but the sens are askung for it. Fire with fire. Get a goon, and let him loose on one of their better defensemen. Then have some call up like Czarnik give Stutzle a nice 2 hand slash across his arm and break it. That's how a team with a backbone deals with a situation like this. That's how we started winning cups back in 97. Not "thank you, may I have another."
