Since we love spreading unsubstantiated rumors, i did hear a conspiracy that Kane wasnt actually injured, but checked himself into rehab, and the league used the injury excuse to keep it hush hush. Which is why hes recovered way fast from this injury and says he now "feels the best hes ever felt".

Thats a pretty specific rumor that would have been talked about a lot among red wings fan forums. I dont see it existing here. I dont see it existing on HF red wings board. I dont see it existing it on HF rumors board. I dont see it existing on reddit. Googling it, nothing comes up. Searching on twitter, nothing comes up. Hmmmmm So yes, im calling out the existence of this rumor. Its anyones right to post whatever wonky hub bub they want, but its also everyones right to question it. Based on the lack of evidence on this one, im calling BS.

Thats not the rumor @ely s and @Axl Foley are claiming exists though. Theyre claiming its credible rumor that SY was going to pass on Byfield and Lafren to take Stutzle #1 overall. "Detroit interested in Stutzle" sure i bet SY was interested him at #4, he went #3 after all. But i have never seen the later rumor that that is how we would have used our #1 overall pick, and pages later still no one has produced it.

No. Theyre literally not. Theres a huge difference between speculation and actual rumor. WIIM writing a fluff piece about how Stutzle would fit good on the red wings and talking about it on twitter, is not the same as Friedman saying sources indicate that SY had stutzle at #1 on his draft chart. The later is fun time speculation. The former is an actual rumor.

Depends on what his priorities are I guess. He hasnt played good (superstar Kane level good) since DCat left the Hawks. So maybe he wants to take a discount to recapture that chemistry? DCat - Larkin - Kane could be an insane top line. I think it would make us a postseason team overnight. I never stated it as fact. I said it was a rumor. Rumors cannot be proven, otherwise they would be fact. You aren't questioning the validity of the rumor, you are accusing people of deliberately making things up, there is a difference. There is a difference between telling someone they're wrong, and calling them a liar. The former is the point of discourse, the latter is just being a dick.

For anyone living in GR I think this would be a season to visit the Griffs. Kasper/Czarnik/Lomarbi/L'Esperence at C is insane. Kasper is probably a young NHL capable C. Czarnik is an AHLer worthy of occasional NHL callups. Lombardi has loads of offensive talent. And L'Esperance probably deserves consideration for a callup too at this point because he's been a fantastic AHL C for the Griffs, and he's played in the NHL before. Every RW could probably play in the top 6: Mazur, Soder, Shine, Luff. I wouldn't be surprised to see Luff or Mazur shift to the LW to balance the lines behind Hirose. Especially Mazur, as he apparently likes to play off hand. The biggest questions are the depth players, but Horcoff and SY have pretty well shored that up with depth players. On the D: Johansson - McIsaac played well together last year in all situations. Edvindsson Rafferty has the potential to be amazing if they gel. Wallinder is good on the 3rd par and Tuistomo I pray is better now than ive seen in the past. Hopefully Wallinder can make Johansson and Edvinsson look stupid. I would love him to pull a Berggren and start leapfrogging our other prospects. Cossa and Lyon/Reimer. I assume SY selected both of the later because he likes what either of them could teach Cossa. A hard fought journeyman looking for his place versus a vet backup trying to survive. Im not worried about Lombardi, Kasper, Soderblom, Mazur, Johanssan, or Wallinder this year. I AM worried about Edvinsson, Cossa, McIsaac, and Tuomisto. Edvinsson showed extreme promise in Sweden, but now I need to see it in the AHL. Last year was okay. He's going to enter the year injured and go back to the Griffs. That's fine but I want to see dominance when he returns. If he doesn't F him and start calling up Johanssan and Wallinder. Unfortunately it's clear to me at this point that he's not a total beast natural talent like Seider at this point. That's okay, he can still be a later bloomer like Hedman, but then we need to adjust the yzerplan. Cossa. I'm less worried about this guy than most. His attitude is crazy good. He's probably going to win the backup spot in GR, but what I want is to see him win is the starting spot over Lyon/Reimer and end one of their careers. That would be cray cray amaze balls. McIsaac literally looked like a top5 pick when he was 15/16. It seems he's already become another sinking pick that Holland took like Zadina and Veleno. He's rapidly approaching the point where we should just trade him for his own sake, because we're nice. I like him, he plays in all situations in GR, but he's being leapfrogged at this point and we might as well give him a chance somewhere else. Tuoimisto is garbage. He was garbage in Denver. And in Finland. There's zero chance he ever makes the Wings. Use him for depth and then he'll be gone.

There's many. Let me break this down for you like you're 5 (which you apparently are): Wayne Gretsky to Detroit in 1988 is a credible rumor. There's sources and insiders backing it up that Detroit was hot and heavy to get Grets. But that Wayne's father blocked it. Trouba to Detroit in 2019 is not a credible rumor. There's no insiders or sources every suggesting this was going to happen. But there was plenty of fans speculating/hoping it would. There is a huge difference between a confirmed rumor (with source) and just fan speculation - which your "rumor" is unless you can back it up. If you go to HFboards and visit the trades/rumors page they literally categorize threads this way. Credible rumors have sources. Anything without a source is labeled speculation, and literally not taken seriously. This is why I'm not taking you seriously. I followed this draft pretty heavy, and never heard this once. And you are also unable to provide a source supporting it. A rumor by definition is a "circulating story or report" There seems to be no evidence that this ever circulated anywhere. So yes, I'm calling you a liar who is fabricating things after the fact. If you disagree post a source for your rumor.

There was a rumor floating around WIIM that his injury had nothing to do with it. He was just bad. They even said the Wings thought his TC was bad. Sorry, but that makes you look like a poor judge of talent (dumb).

Then don't post rumors without a source. Again, it used to be a rule for a reason. If you're going to assert something as fact, you better have a source to back it up. If you're going to post something without being able to back it up, then be prepared to be called on it. Again - you wouldnt like it if every R slur in here just made up fake news and then couldnt be called out on it cause "that just makes them a dick"
