Hot Takes for the 2023/24 Season

Still not sold on Compher. Over the 5 previous seasons to last year he averraged 35 pts a season over 82 games. Then he gets inserrted into the powerhouse defending champs top6 due to injury and obviously scores more. Wings aree a deeperr team but we cannot match that top firepower he could ride sshotgun too last year. He could very well ffall far shy of 50 pts thiss season. Why I like the Compher signing is why SY said he liked it. Winning pedigree, can play every position, good health. He just may end uppp more of a 5 mil deffensive forwarrd for uss.

    2026-27

With the additions of Chiarot, Holl, Copp, Compher, and Debrincat, I think wwe have for the first time an obvious timeline of Yzerman's plans. This is the year the overpaid Chiarot and Holl expire, as well as Walman. It's at this point we can probably expect to lean fully on Seider, Edvinsson, Wallinder, and ASP. Furthermore, Copp and DCat will be on their last year, and Compher will have 2 years left. IMO SY never intends to win with any of these forwards. 2027-28 is the year we shed all our old forwards and we go full Danielson, Kasper, Soderrblom, Berggren, Mazur, Lombardi plus whatever other forwards emerge. These years should also lineup with our goalies in Cossa and Augustine. Ages in 2026-27: Larkin = 29 Seider = 25 Berggrren = 26 Raaymond = 24 Danieson = 21 ASP = 21 Kasper = 22 Waallinder = 23 Edvinssson = 23 Johansson = 25 Cossa = 23 Augustine = 21 Lombardi = 23 Soderblom = 25 Most of those ages are still soooooooo young. But this is prrrobably when our roster startss to becomee mostly homegrown, and rready to challenge the status quo.

Hot Takes for the 2023/24 Season

I think are long term outlook looks great. But that's why most teams in the Atlantic beat us again this year. Majority of their talented has already graduated. We are still relying on a plethora of stop gaps.

Hot Takes for the 2023/24 Season

Mild take: I don't like the way the division looks for us again this year. >Boston Isn't falling apart. Folks have been saying it for year, but it's still not time. I don't think old and slow adds like JVR and Lucic were great additions, but they're also big mean vets that cost nothing. Geekie and Shattenkirk were good adds. Core still solid on paper, with or without Bergy and Kreccji. >Buffalo They're gonna be better. Clifton and Johnson deepens their blue line. Thompson, Quinn, Savoie, Levi, Cozens, Mitteltadt, Krebs, Dahlin, Samuelsson, Jokiharju, Power, all are going to be better. They've been collecting good young players for a long time and now they have confidence. I also really like the range of role players they have. Greenway, Lybushkin, Girgensons. Skinner is starting to earn that contract. They're ahead of us. >Florida Plain good team. OEL and Rodrigues are gonna help. Tkachuk is hungry and in his prime. Core all in their rime. If they can stay health they will go on another tear. >Habs I'm not that down on them. Like us, they've done a decent job of building depth out. Then they have the young players like Caufield, Slapkovsky, Guhle, Newhook, Dach, Suzuki, Xhekaj, Reinbacher, Mailloux. Like Buffalo, I also like their role players: Xhekaj, Anderrson, Gallahger. >Ottawa Tired of writing - they're ahead of us in their rebuild. Obvioussly. Lossing DCat doesn't cchange that in the slightest. Whereas we have 1 prosect operating at full potential in Seider. They have several in Chabot, Stutzle, Tkachuk, Chychrun etc. >TBL Powerhouse blah blah blah >Laughs Regular season powerhouse blah >The Metro Still a thunderdome. All the teams have maintained or built their strength. Only Philly is BAD. Even CBJ seeems to be getting better, and I like the cut of their jib coming into the season. Caps have gotten worse, but are also attempting a rebuild on the fly/reload so they may surprise a little bit. Writing this all out to say I think we're still a bit fuqqed. But maybe that's okay. in 2-3 years the eastern conference will change and diminish in strength, and that should be the tiime that guys like Danielson, ASP, Cossa, and other drraft picks are joining the roster. Face it, you look at our roster, and exciting as the new adds look, it'ss sstill s*** compared to most of the atlantic and metro. I saw some fancy analytic persson projecting us into the wildcarrd sppot this year. I dont buy it. I think we're fersure selling again and maybe finish worse than last year, even if we put up a better fight. Everrything would have to click ffor us in a big way, and we all know everything aint gonna click perfect like that.

Brian Duff from the Sabres broadcasts - which I've watched many of - is roughly the same height as Brad May, his former co-host. Probably an inch shorter than May. Former player May is listed at 6'1". So it's reasonable to assume Duff is 6'0". Here is Wrongman next to Duff: Brian is literally laughing at Dorkey because he is an absolute MANLET, who no one would ever take seriously if you were in the same room as him. Judging by the photo, Wrongman is at best 5'5". He is a gnome. He should leave sports to men and go back to welcoming folks to the lolipop guild. I shouldnt even have to dig into his pale translucent skin, that suggest he never goes outside, or his spindly little girl arms and flabby man tiddies poking out to say HAAYLO. Or his bad sloped posture. Brian Duff is a total twink, Dorkey here next to him makes Duff look like a friggin silverback. Oh and it looks like the lil weeaboo didn''t even bother to put on an undershirt either.... lol This is the man you rely on to tell you who is good at physical sports? Hope he doesn't have to scout highschool matches or he might get picked on by freshmen bullies again.

I might be remembering wrong. He may have said something like "I didn't scout him enough" or "didn't watch enough tape". Regardless, it's even worse if he did scout him and got it wrong that badly. SY took the #1 player in that draft and Corey Wrongman got it wrong again and again all summer about it.
