For the love of god do not bring Staal back. I know he has a nice personality and all but there's a reason no teams tried to acquire him at the TDL. He's soooo slow and can barely handle 14 minutes of regular ice time a night. Just say NO Stephen.

    BLASHILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

I think Blash will be in the mix for some NHL HC jobs... if he gets one IDK. Teams will look at him and say this is a guy who was long tenured (so he must be well liked) yet never had the chance to coach anything but dismal rebuilding teams - maybe he can do a lot better with my competitive roster. If he doesn't get one it's because there's too many other good candidates like coach Q available. Or he can pull a David Quinn and go right back to college or the US program where he's well liked. Don't think the Wolverines would be interested in him as they are very happy with Mel Pearson (who I would consider poaching for the Red Wings) but MSU I think would be all over trying to get Blash.

Possibility that Edvinsson starts the season in GR. I forget that Seider came over and did a whole season in GR before going back to Europe. Eddog hasn't had that NA experience yet... and I also don't think he's AS GOOD as Seider is. But he will be great at some point.

I keep forgetting Andreasson might be on this years Griffins team as well

    2022 Draft / UFA

I keep forgetting about Andreasson... If SY only adds a 2C this summer it's going to be a dog fight for the last remaining spots on the roster at camp. Bertuzzi - Larkin - Raymond Vrana - 2C - With 7 spots left to fight over between Rasmussen, Suter, Zadina, Erne, Veleno, Sundqvist, Smith, Stephens, Andreasson, Berggren, Pearson (x11). Pearson is probably done in this organization... maybe we shouldn't even re-sign. Let's give this package to the yotes: ARI: Zadina + Suter + Hronek + 2nd DET: Chychrun Then make a huge play for Klingberg this offseason as our vet Dman to lead the boys. Maybe hire Gronborg and send he and Lidstrom to help recruit the Swede. Total cap hit in 2022/23 = $70 million ($74 when Fabbri returns) The next season (with Bertuzzi and Larkin's extensions): Total cap hit of $68 million. With $27 million available in the offseason to re-sign the following: Vrana, Rasmussen, Raymond, Berggren, Seider, Johansson, and Cossa. That will be more than enough to re-sign Vrana and bridge all those young players. This is also the year the cap is supposed to sky rocket, so we may have closer to $37 million available to do this. WE CAN AFFORD TO GET TROCHECK FORSBERG AND KLINGBERG YZERMAN NEED TO SPEND THIS OFFSEASON

    2022 Draft / UFA

I remember Blash praised him for returning from his last x2 ACL tears and playing "without fear of re-injuring himself". Which is nice and all, but now he's done it again to his other knee, and he's going to be at significant risk of re-tearing both. He keeps playing like this and he may not finish his new x3 contract on the ice.

He's torn his left ACL twice and his right once. Logic says his career is going to be a short one.

Holland's solutions to 2C: Weiss and Nielsen Yzerman's solutions to 2C: Filppula and Suter One more failed attempt and he'll be worse than Holland at finding 2C's...

I wouldn't mind trading Suter ASAP. He was awful this year IMO. Despite being given top6 minutes he scored like a 3rd liner. Watching him he did nothing to help the offense. Plenty of frustrating defensive lapses too. His defense is BAD. He made Namestnikov look like a total G. He has an okay contract and some youth still at 26. Ditch him now. Give that 3rd line C spot to Ras or Veleno to start the season and see what they can do to gain some more experience.

    2022 Draft / UFA

Bertuzzi - Larkin - Forsberg Vrana - Trocheck - Raymond Rasmussen - Suter - Zadina Erne - Veleno - Sundqvist Smith/Stephens That's the team to start the season with Trocheck and Forsberg added. A perfectly acceptable lineup. Berggren and Soderblom haven't made the team yet and I'm not at all convinced they will out of camp. Soderblom especially needs NA grooming b4 he's ready. Horcoff has also stated they're taking things slow with Berggren. I'm not at all convinced he'll be fully promoted after 1 AHL season, though I do think he'll be the #1 call up and play more than a few games when the injuries set in. Then we're likely going to be jettisoning Suter, Erne, and Sundqvist at the TDL. Bertuzzi - Larkin - Forsberg Vrana - Trocheck - Raymond Fabbri - Veleno - Zadina Smith - Stephens - Rasmussen Berggren Another acceptable lineup... despite that it won't even be in tact due to injuries. Furthermore, I would not agree that Suter, Veleno and Zadina are currently top9 forwards. Maybe on this team they play in those spots, but that's only because we suck total ass. I would have absolutely no problem with Suter and Veleno on the 4th and Zadina scratched. The top 9 forwards on this team currently are: Bertuzzi, Larkin, Vrana, Raymond, and Fabbri. That's 5 of possible 9. And Fabbri is going on LTIR to start the season. So 4 of 9. Zadina should also be moved at the draft, and Smith should be waived. I'm hoping Suter and Zadina get packaged for a Dman this summer.

Fabbri on IR. Who knows if he'll ever be the same after this one. Suter is gonna be traded Zadina sucks Soderblom and Berggren start in GR

    BLASHILLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

If Oilers get booted early in playoffs (they won't) I could see Holland hiring his old boy lmao. Someone on HF boards mentioned Michigan State University should hire him. This is honestly the smartest suggestion I've seen. MSU once great hockey program has been in the gutter for years after Ron Mason retired. The last NHLer they produced was Torey Krug back in 2012. Blash could go there and have his own high dollar Big10 program to build from the ground up and bring NHL experience to it. And Blash was legitimately a very good college coach with Western Michigan and Miami of Ohio. I think college players would flock to play for a big10 school with a guy who just coached the Red Wings for like 10 years.

This is perrrrrrfect. Truly an Era has ended. I'm glad to see Salajko was included with this. Every goalie gets worse with him. Tanguay can stay. Wouldn't be very fair to fire him in his first season. Where do the bald bros Blash and Houda go now?

    2022 Draft / UFA

The rumor I read was SY has eyes for Trocheck and Forsberg. Forsberg $8 × 5 Trocheck $7 × 5 Edler $4 × 2 There's 19 million added. $4 mil above the cap floor. Bertuzzi - Larkin - Forsberg Vrana - Trocheck - Raymond Fabbri - Suter - Zadina Erne - Rasmussen - Sundqvist Edler - Seider Edvinsson - Hronek Oesterle - Lindstrom We might actually compete with that lineup.

    https://draftprospectshockey.com/draftsim/ Never played with this b4, but it's actually a pretty sweet tool. Here's my results for the 2022 draft - not messing with any of the sliders or rankings: 9 - Frank Nazar - C - USA (Michigan) - 5'10" 175 lbs - RH 41 - Simon Forsmark - D - SWE - 6'2" 195 lbs - LH 53 - David Goyette - C - CAN - 5'11" 175 lbs - LH 73 - Michael Buchinger - D - CAN - 6'0" 185 lbs - LH 105 - Gabriel Kangas - C - SWE - 5'11" 175 lbs - LH 111 - Spencer Sova - D - CAN - 6'1" 185 lbs - LH 128 - Cameron Lund - C - CAN - 6'2" 185 lbs - RH 137 - Cruz Lucius - RW - USA - 6'0" 175 lbs - RH 201 - Samuel Eklund - D - SWE - 6'0" 155 lbs - LH 211 - Cedrick Guindon - C - CAN - 5'10 170 lbs - LH I took the top ranked player regardless of position each time besides with Nazar (stepped down 1 spot to grab him).

Griffins need to be beefed up next year. They weren't very good this year and are probably not getting Berggren or Edvinsson or Veleno for much of next year. Under contract for next year: Hanas - Pearson - ______ _____ - Criscuolo - _____ McIsaac - Newpower Johansson - Barton Sebrango - ______ Viro had a poor season in the Liiga and I don't see him coming over yet. Mastrosimone Gylander, and Phillips should all finish college and aren't ready IMO. Get Soderblom signed and over here preparing his NA game. I wouldn't welcome back any of the departing old guys, besides maybe Barber, Hirose, Lashoff, and Pickard. The additions of Soderblom and Johansson will certainly help, but SY and Horcoff gotta sign some bigger NHL scoring names to help these kids. Ditch Elson, Murphy, and Renouf. Sign TJ Tynan, Martin Frk, and Jordan Gross. Re-sign Barber, Hirose, Lashoff, Pickard. Hirose - Tynan - Soderblom Hanas - Barber - Frk _____ - Pearson - _______ McIsaac - Gross Johansson - Newpower Sebrango - Barton Pickard Whatever
