Did you have randomness jacked up? Cause that's the only time I've seen Cooley after the top5 and Geekie past 15/20. Last full random one I did Montreal took Brad Lambert first overall and I got Kasper in the 2nd. Stopped jacking that up after that.

I'm with you. SY needs a shutdown veteran on the blue line. Pius Suter absolutely does not cut it as a 2C either. Maybe he turns 26 and has a Namestnikov type year. But we can't count on that. No C prospect will be ready next year.

New Franzen is here boys. Cup incoming.

>First 3 minutes are a total waste of time >@4:30 mark Scott Wheeler starts making himself look like a total jack ass saying Sodapop has no talent >@6 min in the highlights start >@13:45 Bultman & Pronman praise Soda and say he should've gone in the 3rd or 2nd round >@15 Yzerman gushes about Elmer's development >@19 Bultman discusses trying to convert him to a powerforward cause he plays more like a small skill guy >@22 on it's basically all more highlights This kid is basically Zdeno Chara if you took all the meanness out of Chara and replaced it with silky mitts. And used him at forward of course. He's definitely a sniper, not a traditional powerforward like you'd expect. He's not super physical. He doesn't even play net front on the PP, he plays on the flank in the one timer spot. His shot is really good. He can absolutely dangle guys and use his massive size and wingspan to protect the puck. He has creativity too and always finds new ways to score. His foot speed sucks, but he's shifty on his skates and has good maneuverability. I'm not sure his foot speed will matter as much as people think. His stride is massive and he can take edges. I guess a better analogy for him is he's Jonathan Ericsson + Skill + Shooting + Creativity.

>from the draft simulator thread You can increase or decrease randomness, and increase or decrease teams drafting by need or BPA. If we pick at #9 - in all the different simulations I've done - it's usually Nazar, Gauthier, and Lekkerimaki that are fersure always available to us. Brad Lambert also falls inside the top9 quite often. Geekie seems to fall about 50% of the time. Occasionally I've seen Jiricek and Nemec fall. The guys I've never seen fall = Cooley and Savoie. They seem to always go top5. I think we should be aiming for Geekie, but if he's not there taking one of Nazar/Lambert/Gauthier/Lekkerimaki.

Here's basically how I see the cup board right now (only listing players who are or have the potential to become major impact players): C Larkin RW Raymond Berrgren Hanas LW Bertuzzi Vrana Soderblom Mazur RD Seider Hronek LD Edvinsson Johansson Wallinder Buium G Nedejkovic Cossa Obvious needs: Centers and RHD Yzerman doesn't seem to mind small skilled forwards, but loves big mobile D. So I'm doing this draft with these things in mind. 9 - Frank Nazar - Skilled smart center 41 - Ludwig Persson - Swedish playmaking center 53 - Maveric Lamoureux - Massive physical shutdown RHD with great mobility and huge shot 61 - Gabriel Kangas - Swedish two way center with upside 111 - Markus Limpar Lantz - Swedish playmaking center that's RH 112 - Noah Warren - Another massive physical RHD, I believe he led the CHL in hits 137 - Sergei Ivanov - Russian goalie *Trade pick #73 and pick #105 to CGY in exchange for pick #61 *Trade pick #128, #201, and #211 to NYR in exchange for pick #112 So x4 centers (3 Swedish), x2 RHD, and a goalie. I'm intrigued by this Lamoureux kid. He's 6'7 and is said to be pretty sound defensively, with great mobility. Loves the nasty stuff, but has been working to build out his offensive game. Seems like an SY type guy. Has showed flashes of more offensive ability beneath the surface.

>black >low IQ What did he mean by this?

Let's be fair, Bert isn't that talented. He's not a particularly great skater, shooter, or puck handler. His defense is pretty good I guess... People seem to think he's a big physical presence too, like his uncle was. He's not. He's not even very big, let alone physical. But his IQ is through the roof, and he's also fearless. So he's essentially always where u need him to be. Ahead of the play and in danger areas. Looking at him it's kinda hard to believe that the dirty tooth missing pony tail guy is one of our smartest players, but that's him. Without his hockey sense he'd be nothing more than a Givani Smith type on the 4th line.

It's not important what we think of Hronek. Apparently Hronek views himself as a major player. I don't blame him to an extent. He's been a legit NHLer for a while and he's still only 24. He's a lot less special than Bert IMO and I'd oblige him with a trade. But damn now we'd have holes on our RHD too.

Not driving. Back in Mississippi at my parents house. Basically going through a divorce right now. Thank Jesus I wasn't married to her.

As speculated, SY also wants a legit top4 LHD who can mentor Seider and Eddog. Bertuzzi - Larkin - Forsberg Vrana - Trocheck - Raymond Fabbri - Suter - Zadina Erne - Rasmussen - Sundqvist UFA - Seider Eddog - Hronek Oesterle - Lindstrom

Thanks for posting the article. On my phone ATM. A package deal would be for a significant player I assume. Someone like Chychrun.

https://detroithockeynow.com/2022/04/20/detroit-red-wings-insider-questions-allen-duff/ The inside from Allen and Duff is that SY is ready to make major changes. And that he's heavily eyeing two names: Trocheck and Forsberg. Seems to be that the Rags will release Strome in order to re-sign Copp.
-
Bertuzzi - Larkin - Rust Vrana - Copp - Raymond Palat - Suter - Rasmussen Erne - Stephens - Sundqvist IR: Fabbri To DET: Chychrun To ARI: Veleno + Zadina + Oesterle + 2022 1st (unprotected) Chychrun - Seider Edvinsson - Hronek Zadorov - Lindstrom We can afford this. Top line = all point per game 2nd line = size speed and skill 3rd line = Disgustingly good scoring line. Fabbri replaces Ras/Suter upon return. 4th line = finally league average 1st pairing = Chychrun + Seider are the new Niedermayer/Pronger or Lidstrom/Rafalski. 2nd pairing = Ed + Hronek are Stuart/Kronwall with way more potential. 3rd pairing = shutdown pairing.

I wouldn't say I see drastic system changes in the 3rd. Maybe just a team with total lack of confidence or leadership in important moments. Either way, dats not gud.
-
This is why I wouldn't mind Chiarot. Is he that great? No, but he can log a lot of minutes. Normally I'd ask, what does Seider need in a partner? Someone fast? Offensive? Defensive? But honestly I think he's good enough all around to not need anything in particular. Any UFA is likely just a stop gap until Johansson or Wallinder are ready to play with Seider anyway. Therefore I'm looking more to what the team needs as a whole. And that's defensive Dmen to replace DDK and Staal on the PK. I think SY will be looking mentorship again too. Really leaning towards Edler myself right now.
