Chychrun - Yotes Oleksiak - Kraken McCabe - Hawks Simek - Sharks Dillon - Jets Schmidt - Jets Those are guys I think that could possibly be had at the TDL. Advantage to a move like this is obviously we can then feel very comfortable unloading Staal/Leddy at that point. Juolevi may be complete garbage and McIsaac and Sebrango are nowhere near ready to come up IMO. We might be leaning on Renouf and Lashoff if we dump Leddy and Staal without replacing them.... Also, problem with trading with the Jets is we then free them up to re-sign Andrew Copp, who most certainly is looking like a cap casualty. Though this may be good motivation for them to sell us Dillon for cheap now or at the draft. If we trade at the draft for a Dman obviously more options will open up with different teams. -

BTW there is a funny thread to read over on HF boards, and it's about this subject we're discussing now: https://hfboards.mandatory.com/threads/if-your-goal-is-to-make-a-playoff-run-next-yr-w-o-ruining-our-future-what-do-you-do.2873415/ It seems our old friend Blueadams (not me) migrated over there after his last tantrum on LGW. The HF bros are already annoyed with him and the thread has some decently spicy drama. -

I just don't think that'll be the motivation for good vets. They'll be like Perry and go to Tampa for cheap. Giordano will probably cruise back into Calgary. There are more options at C this year than LHD. If we don't snag a Chychrun or Lindholm, we may have some problems. Zadorov doesn't kill penalties. Then there isn't much quality after that. We're gonna end up in a 32 team bidding war over Ben freaking Chiarot and Brett Kulak. I'd rather bid war on Lindholm... -

IM BLOWINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG I just don't see why Giordano or Malkin or whatever elite vet would want to join us. They're going to go to playoff teams in win now mode. There's no reason for them to waste their last years on a bad Detroit team. The type of vets we will end up with are the cast outs who are barely productive at this point; like Staal or Leddy or Filppula. AKA reloading with more of the same stop gap BS. Yzerman knows we need productive players in our current age range. Which is why he went out and got Stepehens, Erne, Fabbri, Suter, Stecher, Juolevi, Nedeljkovic, Vrana, Perlini, Timashov, Comrie. Even Leddy and Names were close to the proper age range when acquired. We're gonna end up with a busted ass Jack Johnson and Andy Greene on the left side if we swing for vets. I think if Yzerman goes gunning for contributors it'll be for guys like Lindholm/Chychrun/Forsberg/Trocheck/Zadorov/Copp/Hertl/Kotkaniemi who still have some prime years. I'm sure more young projects like Juolevi/Stephens will be in the mix too. -

Read the article. SY wants immediate help on the blue line, exploring trades for Dmen with term. We've seen how good Chychrun can be. He's extremely young and on a very friendly contract. That will cost us. Let's send them: Zadina + Ras + McIssac + Viro -

Then only do one of the deals - probably Chychrun -
CHL will no longer import Russian or Belorussian players. NHL and KHL have severed their existing deal to honor contracts and provide league information to one another. Helsinki is refusing the KHL playoffs and likely leaves the KHL. KHL terminating the contracts of players leaving Russia. Time to start drafting Russians and smuggling them into the country again boys. Good thing we have our ace for this. Jimmy is on the job.

I can't say. Seider is also a great skater. I think it will come down to which one scores more since both are pretty beastly in their own ends.

This summer: We will have roughly $30 million to spend We need to re-sign Zadina, Stephens, and possibly Juolevi - this will be cheap cheap cheap We need a backup goalie - probably a wash here but maybe we sign JVP for cheap cheap We are most likely graduating Veleno and Edvinsson to the NHL on ELC's So conservatively we will have roughly $25 million to address needs Bertuzzi - Larkin - Raymond Vrana - _______ - ________ Fabbri - Suter - Zadina Rasmussen - Veleno - Erne Stephens/Smith _______ - Seider _______ - Hronek Edvinsson - Lindstrom Juolevi/Oesterle Ned Backup We can afford to spend $5 million for each blank position and still be in the same cap situation we are today. Roughly $5 mil in the bank. BUT WHAT ABOUT NEXT YEAR! WE'RE F#&$ED!!! Next year: We shed another $8.5 So would have roughly $13.5 to hand out raises with Larkin, Bertuzzi, Veleno, Lindstrom, and Ned will need new contracts This should be more than enough to cover all that and then some. I think it behooves us to go out and spend this year. Throw $14-16 mil and 5-7 year term at Hertl/Lindholm. Then spend your remaining $10 mil conservatively on short term contracts. This wouldn't damage our designs for the future besides picking lower and we'll have enough for Seider when the time comes. At this point we need good players around and supporting our young stars in Seider/Raymond/Edvinsson, and we need to show Larkin and Bertuzzi we are pushing forward to win. I could see a guy like Bertuzzi taking his services to market if we continue to put no good faith effort forward.

Chychrun - Yotes - best of the bunch Oleksiak - Krak Heads - overpaid long contract McCabe - Hawks - overpaid Simek - Sharkies - not that great Dillon - Jets - good player and 2 years left Schmidt - Jets - overpaid long contract Left handed guys with term on selling teams I'd go after Dillon and Chychrun. Yotes are shopping Chychrun obviously, and Jets probably want to shed salary going into the summer. Jets paid x2 second round picks for Dillon Yotes are asking for a 1st, a roster player, and a 1st round drafted prospect To ARI: Zadina + Rasmussen + 1st To WPG: our '22 2nd + WSH '22 2nd Sell Leddy and Names each for a 3rd rounder 1st round - no picks 2nd round - no picks 3rd round - 3 picks 4th round - 3 picks 5th round - 1 pick 6th round - no picks 7th round - 1 pick Total = 8 picks We use our glut of 3rds and 4ths to move up into the 2nd round at the draft. Bertuzzi - Larkin - Raymond Vrana - Hertl ($8) - Forsberg ($8) Fabbri - Veleno - Berggren Erne - Suter - Stephens Smith Chychrun - Seider Edvinsson - Hronek Dillon - Lindstrom Juolevi Ned van Pottleberghe ($1) Cap space: $16 million Boom. Cup. -

They are similar in a lot of ways. Steady, smart, mobile, big. Seider has much more offensive talent IMO and he lacks the nordic politeness on the ice. Eddog has the bigger frame, but that's about it.

Not only are we going to sign Lindholm, Verbeek is going to trade him to us ahead of the deadline. Yup. We need right handed wingers. Zadina is bungus and we're losing Gagner too. -

It's just a business move really. Yzerman knows DK is the one contract that will go unclaimed. Danny knows this as well. He'll certainly get recalled again. -

Yzerman just chose a waiver pickup with only 10 games on the season over Dekeyser Welcome this lad -
>Call Olympic committee >Tell them "No" >Refuse to elaborate Chadlife The rest of that article could have been written about Seider. Yzerman certainly has a type. This kid is going to make the team at camp fersure now. Time to start the Ed v Mo thread

Thinking about what forward prospects we should bring to GR next season. There appears to be only two real candidates: Soderblom and Hanas. Soderblom is obvious, he's massive strong and scoring in a mens league. Hanas has done 4 years in the WHL and is leading his team in scoring this year. Maybes: Mastrosimone and Phillips. Both have had decent years in college this year, but both still can play one more year of college next year. Another maybe: Mazur. Hate to steal him to GR after only 1 year of college, but he's playing well enough to possibly warrant this. Although we should probably also sign his teammate Shai Buium at that point, and we really don't have much room in GR for Dmen next year. Probably better to leave both players in college for now. Defense: Bring over Johansson + Edvinsson, and possibly Wallinder as well.
