If he wants to be on a contender we can't compete. But we can offer him top minutes and a partner in Seider. That could be enticing for him. But yeah I'm super spooked by 7 year contracts. Watch him start to suck at age 32. I'm hoping he gets trades -

We need PK dmen who aren't in their late 30s. If you wanna add old haggard players, might as well resign Staal. Cole and Kulak fit that mold of the guys you listed. I'd add Chiarot and Gudbranson to that list. -

You might be right. There's just not a lot of good options on the UFA market for LHD this year. Lindholm Chiarot Gusbranson Cole Zadorov After that we start getting into guys who are perhaps beneath Staal and DK, unless we consider Giordano, Edler, Goligoski. I just don't think those guys will want to sign here at their age. -

When it comes to Juolevi, This kid has only played 195 games since being drafted, across all leagues. Average of 32 games a year. Between last season and this season he's only played 36 games, mostly in the NHL. Lets give him the playing time he was never going to get in Vancouver or Florida. See what we got. He needs to play if he's going to be anything. How much worse could he be than DK and Leddy? Trade Staal and Leddy and then run this lineup the rest of the season: Dekeyser - Seider Oesterle - Hronek Juolevi - Lindstrom Renouf -

The thing we need on D is PK Dmen. To replace Staal and DK. Zadorov surprisingly plays very little PK, but Lindholm fits that mold. Maybe we should be considering Ben Chiarot, Erik Gudbranson, or Ian Cole instead of Lindholm and Zadorov. A deal I'd like to see get done: To DET: Jake Chychrun + 2nd To ARI: Filip Hronek + Filip Zadina Then go out and sign Ilya Lyubushkin in UFA this summer. He was branded a pure shutdown style defender in ARI, but it's clear his puck moving ability has been underrated and is much better with Toronto and away from the anemic ARI offense. This would also be reuniting him with his buddy from ARI Chychrun. Lindholm - Seider Chychrun - Lyubushkin Oesterle - Lindstrom Juolevi/Edvinsson -

Sign UFA forward Andrew Copp for 2C - (Detroit forward group is now full) Sign UFA Dman Hampus Lindholm for Seider's partner Sign UFA Dman Nikita Zadorov for Hronek's partner - (Detroit defense group is now full) Sign UFA goalie Joren van Pottleberghe to backup Ned - (Detroit goaltending is now full) Sign some of our forward prospects for GR and recall Soderblom Recall Edvinsson and Johansson to GR - (GR defense group is now full) Sign some AHL starters for GR - (GR goaltending is now full) These are the 7 steps for the offseason. Vrana - Larkin - Raymond Fabbri - Copp - Bertuzzi Rasmussen - Suter - Zadina Erne - Veleno - Stephens Extra: Smith Lindholm - Seider Zadorov - Hronek Oesterle - Lindtstrom Extra: Juolevi Nedeljkovic van Pottleberghe Soderblom - Pearson - Berggren Hirose - Criscuolo - Witkowski Prospect - Prospect - Prospect GR signing - GR signing - GR signing Exttra: GR signing Edvinsson - McIsaac Sebrango - Newpower Johansson - Barton Extra: Lashoff AHL Starter AHL Starter Nobody gets a promotion at camp. Maybe Edvinsson. If Edvinsson does it's easy enough to bench Oesterle. I think we have to go for Lindholm. For Seider's sake - there's really no one else out there fit to be his partner. We have the money. However I get the feeling Yzerman will try to trade Zadina to fill a need. -

Edvinsson Oesterle Juolevi The left side for next year is complete. Another fantastic off-season from Stephen Gregory. -
Max Buttman went to Sweden. Thinks Eddog and Suterbloom might be good. https://mobile.twitter.com/BallySportsDET/status/1499895262613061641

Yeah his agent requested a contract from Detroit and SY did him a solid. I almost think he's not playing much bc of the family situation. When family member recovers or passes we might see him in the lineup more. The word I'm getting on juolevi is that after his injury his skating became garbage. Getting burned even by slow guys. But otherwise he can play. -
I'm not as confident in Berggren as some. I do have concerns about his soft perimeter style play.
-
300 lbs is an impressive feat. Like you should stop running completely and lift everyday for 2 years to hit 300 lb natural bench press. For a short guy. He's skating regularly and has super long arms and is doing this at 20 years old. We've drafted a monster.
-
Exactly why he should be fodder in acquiring a LHD. I am OCD level concerned about the LHD. Chychrun, Valimaki, Brannstrom. Use Zadina to get one. We don't have bad forwards at this point, especially with Soder and Berg coming in. Zadina is unnecessary. Bounce this clown.
-
Christ. I know he just physically has more muscle mass, but for a guy with his wingspan to move 300 lbs like that takes a lot more energy than a guy with short arms does. Physics or whatever. This is impressive. Hopefully we can beat the Nordic politeness out of him.
-
We shall see. I'm not even positive Leddy moves. We might finish the season with him. He's that bad.
-
There's an old graphic out there that shows just how easy it is for Chara to defend based on his size. He can defend the boards with his stick and in like one stride turn and defend the net with his stick. It's an insane advantage when you consider the size of the stick, stride length, and wingspan. It's almost a shame Soderblom isn't a defender.
-
Like how can this prospect even fail? He's proved he has hands and offensive talent. Even if that doesn't work out he's freaking massive and we can teach him to grind.
-
Maybe he can play for the Pistons too. Lord knows they could use him.
-
Pretty sure that's exactly where Franzen started. Soderblom is not that aggressive from what I've seen - a bit like Ericsson - but I've seen a few clips of guys taking runs at him to basically no effect. He just swats them away like flys.
-
I'm not even sure Tuomisto finishes his time at Denver. Maybe if he's a good student and wants a degree he will. Buium and a few other guys have already pushed him down the roster. I can see him fishing for a job in the Liiga soon.
