Quincey on a bad Colorado team the year we acquired him: 23 pts in 53 games, -1, 26 years old, caphit: $3.125 Leddy on a bad Detroit team the year we are selling him: 12 pts in 49 games, -27, 31 years old, caphit: $5 One of these things is not like the other.

Can someone please go check nyqvististhefuture/jesperwillbeawing's, or whatever he's calling himself now, twitter? He was obsessed with Brannstrom and always livid we didn't draft him Only if Leddy is going to Edmonton

Sens fans seem to realistically think a Brannstrom for Zadina deal is being explored. Brannstrom had great stats for a 21 year old Dman last year, but seems to be taking a step backwards this year both in the NHL and AHL. He doesn't seem to fit the mold of an Yzerman Dman either. Mobile, but small. He is Swedish though at least, I guess that's a plus. I think it's at least worth considering. If we are done with Zadina I don't know that we will get an offer like this in the future. And we have serious incoming needs for LHD. To DET: Erik Brannstrom + Shane Pinto To OTT: Filip Zadina Zadorov - Seider Oesterle - Hronek Brannstrom - Lindstrom Edvinsson

I don't think Tuomisto ever gets a contract with the Red Wings. Busterino. He plays like 10 minutes or less a night with Denver. His coaches don't trust him. Shai Buium the younger on the other hand is logging heavy minutes for that team and is a go to guy on all ends of the ice. Also checkout Bobby Brink. 2nd round pick by Philly, 20 years old. He's crushing the NCAA. Leading Denver scorer and leads all NCAA players in points. We took Tuomisto immediately after Brink in the 2019 draft.

Hopefully this is just other teams recognizing him and focusing on shutting him down in his sophomore year in the Liiga. Last year: 14 pts in 53 games This year: 4 pts in 44 games I don't think he's expected to be a point producer at this point. My comparison to Rafalski was more than a stretch in that regard. He's very good defensively, and actually plays a lot like Joe Hicketts in this area. Very aggressive and speedy. Does NOT play the slow, minimizing, calculating, defensive game of Nick Lidstrom where he slowly takes away your space and positioning and corrals you into a non-threatening area. He closes the gap and attacks. He made the Liiga very early for a young man and signed a contract with the Red Wings remarkably early. So I still believe there's a lot of potential there. But this might be more of Gustav Lindstrom situation, than a paired with Seider situation. I can see him joining the team at a very young age, but just not having that super high ceiling I hoped for.

11 foreign players have now abandoned their KHL teams

Leddy has been paired with Hronek. Hronek isn't a bad Dman. Yet Leddy can't generate offense and leads the team with nearly -30 on a middle of the pack squad. He's a super mega blackhole on the blueline. His past play and name mean nothing at this point.

It points out that the perception of Leddy outside of Detroit is not good. If Boston fans recognized that Leddy hit a wall last year, you better believe the Boston org saw that too. SY (and we) got swindled in that trade. Leddy hasn't even come close to hitting expectations. His almost valueless even at half price. If DK is untradeable them so is Leddy.

The Bruins fans I've spoken with basically have no interest in Leddy. According to them he was terrible for the Islanders last year and his stats reflect that that has continued in Detroit. When it comes to Zadina, I am very eager to get Berggren on this team. IDK how the apologists are going to try to explain away a rookie outperforming Zadina, but they will, and it will be pathetic, and it will be blood in the water for anyone questioning his bad play.
-
I hope picks 3-7 are all high ranked russians this year.

Jack triggers the board. I post more jack. It ain't much, but it's an honest living.
-
Zadina sucks bro
-
Rookie mistake. He should know by now that good Zadina apologists couch their excuses in the term "snake bitten".
-
If we had Erne and Zadina swap jerseys for one game, everyone would start complaining about how Erne is playing worse than ever and Zadina looks like he's finally coming into his own.
-
"Zadina sucks, here's why that's a good thing"

Just don't do this to Seider now. Dekeyser is in way over his head in the top4. Leddy is not a top4 Dman any more. Staal, bless him, he tries, but he just doesn't have the foot speed to defend against other teams elite players. Oesterle I was hoping would be a good 5A/4B guy, but he looks like a solid 6th man to me We have basically nothing of value on the left side. We have so much work to do there. IDK if we can even fully address it in one TDL and offseason. I said the the same thing last year about goaltending - and then Yzerman went out and got Ned and Cossa - and shored up my concerns about the net in like a week. So I have to believe he can swing something here. We need two capable top4 LHD at the very least. If we get just one that guy will end up playing with Hronek to support him, leaving Seider to carry some loser again. We can't count on Edvinsson joining next year. We gotta plan for the worst. I hope he casts off some of our young bad forwards to get someone and then a UFA to boot.

I'm reading through the comments of the reddit thread about Zadina being a trade target. Every last comment: "Big mistake, he shows flashes of brilliance, and is about to breakout, I can feel it" Normie casuals are the worst fans. I'm no professional hockey scout, but I've dedicated enough of my freetime to watching this sport to say I think I at least have an educated opinion as far as s***ty message boards go. I have not ever seen Zadina do anything "brilliant". I see a player with A LOT of problems. The guy kills more plays than the infamous Mikkael Samuelsson. Weak on the puck. Weak on the boards. It goes on and on. I feel like I'm in the twilight zone reading through the reddit comments. "About to break out" god it's like the Brendan Smith saga all over again. Brendans 27 and 300 games into his career! He's about to go to from 15 pts a season to 40! Don't pay attention to the way he plays just trust me!

KFQ is the victim of Holland trading a 1st for him. Just like Ericsson is the victim of Holland handing him a giant contract. Daley/Nemeth/Merrill/Quincey/Ericsson/Dekeyser/Staal were all not really that bad. Just playing way over their heads like you say. I want to blame Blashill for that, but how can you when he had no other options.
-
Leddy makes me miss Ericsson, Quincey, and Daley.
-
I wouldn't give Yzerman a 2nd for Leddy. 12 pts and -27. The guy has been beyond awful this season. He can't defend at all anymore clearly, but I thought he'd at least generate offense for us... but he doesn't even do that. I'd give you more for Troy Stecher.
-
Think it comes down to what you value more. A #1 Center or a #1 Dman.

I think a Valimaki trade makes a ton of sense for both teams. Calgary's defense: Hanafin - Andersson Kylington - Tanev Zadorov - Gudbranson Stone/Valimaki Valimaki was expected to make the team this year, until Kylington basically stole his spot. There is no room for Valimaki on that left side. Unless they plan on not re-signing Zadorov and replacing him with Valimaki next season. But it may be more worth it to them to add an asset somewhere else NOW and go for it NOW. Zadina could join their 3rd line with Monahan and Toffolli and push Lucic down to the 4th line (where they want him). We have impending giant gaps on our left side D. Valimaki could immediately shore some of that up for us. Valimaki - Seider Edvinsson/UFA - Hronek Oesterle - Lindstrom

Some young player swaps we could do for Zadina: Chychrun - Arizona Valimaki - Calgary -------> stuck behind CGY's other defenders Brannstrom - Ottawa ----> down year might need a change of scenery Kravtsov - NYR -----------> in Russia still DeBrusk - Boston --------> his play has gotten better since he asked for a trade
