I was responding to Scott's question about what everyone was smoking. My answer was: truth. As in Ed gets sent down if no one else is moved. Just as I had said earlier. Check my posts, I agree with you. This is typical Yzerman. He doesn't leave any open roster spots for kids. He fills them up and waits to see if a kid forces his hand. He does this every year. I don't know why anyone is surprised.

As of today, he has a 15 team no trade clause. Detroit would presumably NOT be on his list if he wanted to leave NY. However, since he knows there were talks beforehand, he could put them on his list just so that he doesn't get traded, if he wants to stay in NY.

I clicked on the wrong player. that Finn from Nashville is still playing in Liiga. Nevermind. I suspect a trade or buyout before the season starts. Otherwise, Ed is the odd man out.

Johansson is NOT waiver exempt. If he gets waived, he gets claimed. Ed is waiver exempt. If he gets sent down, he clears. Who do you honestly believe gets sent down to GR? And no, SY is not sending down Holl. He would buy him out before taking that cap hit.

If Yzerman can't move a dman, Ed is the only one waiver exempt. Which means he gets sent down.

Fischer played his best on a shutdown line with Copp and Ras. I expect that line to stay together. Cat-Lark-Kane Bear-JTC-Ray Ras-Copp-Fish Fabs-Joey-Kasper New Finnish guy They will try and waive him, but if no takers he probably stays up. That is too much salary on goalies if he goes down and Talbot and Lyon stay up.

Buium was drafted 3 picks before Detroit's. How was he "there for the taking"? Unless you think he should have traded up. Which you think he is known to do.

Not surprised. They want to replace Stamkos. The Jeannot and Sergachev trades were to free up the cap space for Guentzel. Not sure he is worth the reported numbers.

All of these kids need playoff experience. Came close last season, and adding rookies isn't going to get them over the hump. Adding guys like Kane, Stamkos, and Trouba will.
