That was a one year show me deal. He aint getting another one. He has proven to be a legit 50 point middle 6 winger. You dont get those guys for 2 or even 3 mil. Sprong is 26. It's time for him to get a longer term deal. I don't think his AAV would necessarily be prohibitive, but I wouldnt want to sign him to more than 3 or 4 years. Also he didnt have 4 major RFAs to re-sign the last 2 summers.

Sprong is going to double his salary. He is on pace to break 50 points and he isnt even playing top 6 minutes. I could see him get 4 or more on the open market. Reimer wouldn't get much. Maybe a 4th or 5th. Ghost I would say a 2nd. Maybe more.

I would have just demoted him to octopus duty until he retired. I think this had become common knowledge. Isnt that how you clean barnacles off the yachts? If he was an alcoholic, his urine may have been an effective drain cleaner.

Goalies take longer to develop, so in theory, they should hit their prime later than skaters. So 30 for a goalie is not unheard of to hit their prime. And they play fewer games, do way more standing around and waiting, and suffer less physical damage to the head and body. So I think a goalie, if he stays fit, can still be effective well into their late 30s.
