Just pure speculation, but Maatta took a 1 year deal to sign with Detroit. It might have been a hand shake deal that if he performed well, he would be re-signed. Also, I am assuming all of Oesterle, Hagg, and Pysyk are gone and Lindstrom gets waived.

The term "Florida Man" exists for a reason. -
They don't grow on trees, but we already have 3 (Seider, Hronek, Edvinsson), and potentially another in Wallinder or Johansson. Why give up valuable assets for a player we most likely won't need?

9 x 8 is fair. You cant expect a player to take a discount for a team that finishes in the bottom 10. That's for contending teams that need players to take less to stay on top. -

Horvat is a year older and is a career 0.66 P/GP. Larkin is a career 0.73. I suspect this puts Larkin fairly in the 9 mil range. -
