Maybe Ken Holland should sign one to an offer sheet? Yzerman is not quick about re-signing free agents. A lot of it is waiting to see how the market unfolds as far as comparable player contracts and arbitrations.

Why don't you take a look at Sprong's 22-23 stats? He is basically averaging 20 goals the past 2 seasons. And Fabbri was a cap dump. That is not even close to being a comparable. But if you are going to compare them, how much did 18 goal Fabbri make last season?

Pretty sure 20 goal/45 point scorers generally make more than 2 mil a season.

Technically, no. He finished the season in GR, but never played a game for the Wings.

I definitely thought Sprong was gonna get paid considering he made well below what he was worth in Seattle and Detroit. Guess the hangup on a contract is term? I think there are a few contenders who could use some depth scoring and Sprong is still relatively inexpensive.
