Naturally. I think you can put some of the blame on Osaer, Salajko, and Westlund. But in the end Yzerman hired Osaer and Westlund, and has already dismissed them. Now that we have Gibson and Cossa is getting very close, it was probably a good time to reset. So at least Yzerman is doing something about it.

Per Bultman, Phil Osaer - Head of goalie scouting and development is leaving the team. We also still need a new goalie coach. By my count, 14 different goalies have suited up for the Red Wings in the 6 years since Yzerman took over. So averaging 2.33 new goalies per year. Those numbers are WILD when you consider that Holland only suited up 18 different goalies in his entire 21 year tenure as Wings GM. Averaging less than 1 goalie a year at 0.85. Whomever we hire for goalie coach this summer will be Yzerman's 3rd GC in 7 years. Again, WILD, as Holland only had 2 GCs in his 21 year wings tenure. Stevie watching his goalie carousel like:

TITLE CHANGE - 2025 UFA/RFA July 1! (plus summer trades)

Hi, I'm Tyler Wright. You may remember me from 1st round picks such as Filip Zadina, Dennis Cholowski, Michael Rasmussen, Evgeni Svechnikov, Joe Veleno, Anthony Mantha, Reid Schaefer (EDM), Xavier Bourgalt (EDM), and Ryan Murray (CBJ). And now the good folks at LA Kings Studios and I are proud to bring you our newest 1st round selection: Henry Breauswitz Ya know, when Ken Holland asked me to join his staff and become a big time Hollywood star with him, I couldn't have been happier. We've developed a long history together of my phone number being the only actors number that he can remember. And that history between us was built upon a solid foundation of trial and error. Trial and error that resulted in the decemation of two other franchises prospect pools. But it's exactly that trial and error that's taught us both an important lesson; that sometimes it's better to triple down and change nothing about your staff or drafting strategy. And that's why Ken and I believe that this time it will work. Some say Hollywood actors like us are stupid. But we tell them we were only pretending to be stupid, and they believed it. Now that's good acting! We know our fans are going to fall in love with Henry Breautswitz once they see him out on the silver screen. And very soon you'll be able to watch him skate in countries such as Russia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Finland, and possibly even the Slovakian B league. So renew those season tickets, and say that good ol LA Kings Studios slogan: It's perfectly natural to try the same thing over and over and expect different results

TITLE CHANGE - 2025 UFA/RFA July 1! (plus summer trades)

And how has our royalty of the rink been doing so far down in the land of Kings you ask? Well they're off to a noble start of course... They traded their best young RHD in Jordan Spence away at the draft, in order to make room for future stud RHD Brandt Clarke. They got back a 3rd and a 4th round pick for Spence from Ottawa. Now I know what you're thinking... "Jimmyyyyy, that's not a very good return for a RHD that made the Kings roster at only 22, and has already proven that he can consistently put up 30 pts from the backend in 2 different seasons with only 3rd pairing minutes... this kid could be a stud in Ottawa! And all the Kings got was 2 lousy picks outside the top 60???" Calm thyselves peasants, Kings are at work here... With their 1st rd pick in the 2025 draft, the new and improved "Red Kings" selected a replacement RHD from Michigan. CLASSIC Holland/Wright move. Newest Kings player Henry Breuswitz was consistently ranked to go in the middle of the 2nd round, but ol crafty Tyler and Ken were able to pick him up in the 1st round. So who cares about Spence! He was from Australia anyway... that's not even a hockey country gang, they play weird sports like knifey spoony down there. Breuswitz came up in the Detroit honeybaked system, right under the watchful eyes of Holland and Wright.... THIS IS NOW A RED KINGS THREAD

Ol Ken, took Mr. Wright with him to Edmonton when he left. But was forced to fire him in Edmonton just a few years later in 2023. Since then Wright has been out of the league.... BUT WAIT Ken Holland is now leading the charge for LAK... Could it be? HE WOULDNT... ...Oh he did, Tyler Wright is BACK BABY. Joining Holland and Bergevin in LA for the 2025/26 season. A literal hollywood dream team is being assembled in Los Angeles, and I for one want IN on this bandwagon. The muscle - Biceps Bergevin The brains - Kickin' Kenny The idiot friend who desperately needed a job - Tyler

Yeah, and honestly the length of this rebuild - SY going slow and steady - is fine with me. Might not be exactly what I'd do in this particular moment, but I can understand the approach and why. The only thing that actually pisses me off about this rebuild is SY's inaction at TDL's. I won't get into all that again in this thread, but for 2 years now I haven't been able to find anyone around the boards who can come up with a reasonable excuse for it, and most won't even try to defend it. It's bad. It's wrong. And I could abide this rebuild for much longer if he'd least stop doing that (by doing somdthing). *Mandatory comment about Detroit being a city in Minnesota*

If Draper is the next GM, I don't think I mind it

Also, the reason I posted the above in this thread is because the HF poster in question claimed there is about a 50/50 chance Yzerman moves to Devellano's position and appoints Draper as GM after the draft this offseason. I probably shouldve mentioned that... Reason being, it would buy the team good will from fans so that Yzerguy and Drapes can finish out "the plan" over the next two years without so much heat. I think the Gibson trade adds a lil bit of fuel to that fire. As Gibson's contract again coincides with this timeline. Now that the draft is over it will be interesting to see the term that Yzerman hands out on July 1. If this truly is the final leg of "the plan" I expect to see more 1-2 year deals like Gustafsson and Tarasenko (but hopefully more impactful than them).

The Italian stallion is done in the NHL isnt he? He's just never provided... anything. No identity as a player. He's akin to Joakim Andersson or Cory Emmerton. Just completely replaceable. That 2018 draft is nightmare fuel. Holland really cooked us. We had the 6th, the 30, the 33, and the 36th. Zadina is in Europe. Probably Joe now too. Berggren is a weak perimeter forward that probably doesnt survive the next 2 years on this team. And McIsaac is barely surviving in the Czech league. Wild.

2025 NHL Draft - June 27-28 ; To Tank or Not To Tank

Who is Ferrari? Can you post a link? When I google "Ferrari Svreck" I get nothing. I liked what Scouching had to say about him. That he's a kid that "will do whatever it takes to make the game move in the right direction" forecheck, battle, agitate, make plays. Kid wants to win at all costs. Apparently has a big shot as well. By the sounds of it he has a ton of natural potential and his offense - albeit a lil late to get drafted high - has begun to develop in big ways. Much like Kasper he's a non-Swede that moved to the SHL to develop his skills. Could be a late steal monster if Scouching (ferrari) is correct.

2025 NHL Draft - June 27-28 ; To Tank or Not To Tank

I don't mind this move. Especially since I believe Verbeek was asking for a 1st in return for Gibson last year. If you look at Gibson's career numbers, he was great, and then plummetted down to average at the exact time the Ducks as a team fell apart. He'll be the guy heading into the season, and if he plays like everyone knows he can we may FINALLY have a clear cut #1 and we can put to rest this dopey 3goalie sharing the net BS. Then after this season Talbot will be gone and Cossa can come up and learn from a guy who's actually been a true #1. Its a good gamble to take - but by god does Stevie love playing with new project goalies every couple months. Lets hope this one proves to hold up. Would really help our Goals Against.

2025 NHL Draft - June 27-28 ; To Tank or Not To Tank

I sense a theme to this draft: 1st - LW Carter Bear - physical tenacious big motor Canadian forward who can score 2nd - RW Eddie Genborg - big physical Swedish shopwrecking forward with limited offensive potential 3rd - G Michal Pradel - big Slovak goalie 4th - RW Brent Soloman - elite sniping American winger who dominated HS hockey 4th - LW Michal Svrcek - energy creating nuisance type Slovak forward that has developing offensive ability 5th - LHD Nikita Tyurin - finesse style two-way Russian Dman 6th - LHD Will Murphy - big physical Canadian defensive Dman that punishes oppenents but needs to skate better 7th - C Grayden Robertson-Palmer - heavy forechecking and attacking Canadian center Besides Tyurin and Soloman, Yzerman went all in on Compete + Physicality. Tells me he likes the talent we already have and now its time to sprinkle in some pushback and energy generators. Bear has 1st line potential, 3rd line floor. Genborg is likely a bottom 6er, but is already built to handle grown men and should have a quick path to the NHL. After that it's really all boom or bust prospects IMO. But there's some really nice potential booms in that mix: Soloman has elite shot accuracy and scored 66 goals in 44 highschool games. Just has to now build out the rest of his game. Project player for Cleary. Svrcek was ranked as the 11th best player in this entire draft by draft analyst Will Scouching. He thinks Svreck is a serious diamond in the rough that didnt get enough attention from NHL scouts. Robertson-Palmer was also described as a darkhorse late steal pick by Brock Otten director of scouting for McKeen hockey.
  14. It may be a weak draft class for the players, but its being reported via Eklund that rumors are swirling that there is a strong class of beautiful mothers Lez go boissss

2025 NHL Draft - June 27-28 ; To Tank or Not To Tank

I really like Smaht Scouting if you wanna check them out. I find they have insightful takes, and care zero for how the other pundits or central scouting rank players. Therefore their rankings always end up much different, and I like that, as their rank is based on true honest scouting, and not "well we felt we had to rank him in the top 10 bc scott wheeler did" This year they had Bear at #9 overall. Quotes: "Bear is one of the most physical forwards in this entire class, constantly engaging with his body when there’s a puck battle to be won and getting into the house when the puck is in the offensive zone. He’s not just applying physicality to discomfort the opposition either: he uses all of the minor tips and tricks you’d hope to see a player use in these situations such as quick stick lifts, using his edges to get under opponents, and consistently smart route taking to make it so that he is constantly able to win said battles and make effective plays." "He lacks the sort of dynamic vision and skills you might hope for in a typical top line winger, but he’s smart enough with his decision making both on the rush and in the cycle that he can still set up linemates for high danger chances when the opportunity is there. Players who can provide a physical edge in their game while being able to produce are a rare and highly sought after commodity in the NHL, and Carter Bear projects to be exactly that at the next level."

If Draper is the next GM, I don't think I mind it

I've relayed this info b4, but I'll repeat it again quick now: There's a gentleman on HF whose father played in the OHL and a limited number of games for the Wings back in the day. He claims to be close to scouts, and has posted reliable insider info in the past. According to him, the belief among Wings brass and ownership is the rebuild is NOT over and it will not be over until the 2027/28 season. That we need this coming season plus one more, and then we will be fully loaded and able to go all in on a cup run. If true, lets break that down: 2027/28 Forwards: Larkin (31) - $8.7 Raymond (25) - $8.08 Compher (32) - $5.1 Rasmussen (28) - $3.2 Possible additional forwards: MBN (22), Danielson (23), Lombardi (24), Berggren (27), Soderblom (26), Bear (21), Kiiskinen (22), Mazur (25), Finnie (22), Plante (21), Buchnelikov (24), Kasper (23) 2027/28 Defense: Seider (26) - $8.55 Possible additional Dmen: Edvinsson (24), Albert Johansson (26), ASP (22), Buium (24), Wallinder (25), Cleveland (22), Anton Johansson (23) 2027/28 Net: Presumed: Cossa (25) and Augustine (22) When you look at the ages of those players in 2027/28, does it not seem like that will be exactly the correct time to insert all that youth? And when you look at our contract situation, all of our big contracts, besides JTC, are done in the next 2 years. So what I'm suggesting is: We might be dissapointed by Yzerman's action this offseason. There's a strong possibility he will not sign or trade for anything significant (bc of reluctance to commit to term). Because the next 2 seasons will be about shedding our cocoon, and becoming the butterfly. The cocoon being Chiarot, Tarasenko, Copp, Mrazek, Talbot, Kane, Debrincat, Holl, and Gustafsson. Most all the young players I listed are progressing extremely well and should be able to be eased on to the roster in the next 2 years, or directly inserted onto the roster in 2027/28. And with a young talented cheap roster like that we will be able to go big game hunting for anything we may want in the 2027 offseason.

2025 NHL Draft - June 27-28 ; To Tank or Not To Tank

I essentially wanted Eklund, then Bear, then Potter. But I'm very happy to have Bear. Eklund went 16th to the Isles. Potter went 32nd to the Flames. Carter Bear has pretty much what no other prospect in this draft could offer, besides maybe Potter; drive, determination, compete, tenacity, fearlessness. I actually want to roll back what I said in my original predraft post. After doing a post draft deep dive, he's a lil less violent than I originaly thought, but a whole more intelligent. And thats one thing that will come up time and time again if you research him: Intelligence. Anyone who talks or writes about hockey always remarks about his very high hockey IQ. Combine that with the big motor he has under the hood, and I think this is a homerun pick. It's almost hard to find flaws about this kid. He skates, he competes, he passes, he shoots, he back checks, he goes to dirty areas. Projects probably as a LW in the NHL, with a floor of 3rd line and cieling of top line. Bear - Kasper - MBN, is going to be a NASTY line for other teams to play against one day. All three are chippy, relentless, antagonizing, disrupters that are going to literally ram pucks down into opponents nets. Credit to Yzerman and Draper for this pick. I like the direction our prospect pool has taken. Skilled softies have fallen by the way side for our scouting staff. They really seem to value DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE at this point in time. Which gives me faith, as that is exactly what our pathetic mediocre lockerroom lacks. It tells me the Wings org is at least seeing what I'm - and the rest of you - are seeing, and they are aiming to fix it.
  19. Wellcome to the twin detrotcities
  20. Bear is wayyyyy more violent than Kasper IMO. This is our Verbeek/Tkachuk/Marchand shidt disturber IMO. Hes gonna make Kasper look nice.
  21. Carter Bear just saved SY from being the whipping boy Naturally I said i didnt care about our pick this year, and then SY did exactly what I seceretly wanted. CARTER IS A ******* SHOP WRECKING BEAR ON SKATES. love it.
  22. Roger McQueen - GORGOUS MOTHER Kindel - decent mom. But not even touching McQueen tier.
  23. Lindy Ruff is the HC of Buffalo again? WTF? DDont listen to me, I apparently have no idea whats going on.
  24. Get out of my thread u insane degenerate But sorry all I had to take an important phone call and couldnt comment on the recent batch of moms. I was eyeing them in the background though and I saw nothing impressive. This may be the worst draft class in years. Fat ugly moms and bad players. Im back and engaged now though
