MBN looks really good, but Finnie is ABSO-LUTELY making the team. Not only is he consistently scoring, but he's out there picking pockets and making defensive plays. And this kid just turned 20... Buy a Findog sweater now while theyre cheap.

Max Bultman put out his roster projection for game 1. It's basically exactly what you'd expect. Bernard Docker and Hamonic are the extra Dmen. Soderblom is the extra forward. Except... he projects THE FINNGOD TO START AT TOP LINE.

Yeah im with Kip on this one - id be shocked if stevie re-signed Chia. As much as Ive been one of the few who has appreciated him, hes old and will have served his purpose after this year. I guess theres a chance he could get a Hamonic type deal if he wants to stay, but I would expect a 1 year and cheap. Unless SY is a total fraud, he will spend his pocket book next summer on a new 2nd pair Dman to play with ASP. I also highly doubt JTC will even be considered for waivers... he had a down year last year on the score sheet, but he's still a heavily leaned on player who plays in all situations, in any forward position, and takes right hand faceoffs. He'll have EVERY chance to make this a bounce back year. However, i did like Todds recent comments on his depth centers... forget what the exact question was, but he basically said if his depth centers (i take this to mean Copp, JTC, and Ras) want to sit back and play a "cerebral" "read" game they will not find themselves at center... AKA he wants centers that engage and muck, and thats his expectation for those two/three. I like this. Time to turn up the heat. Time to become panthers-esque squad or u will find urself at bottom 6 wing...

Packers have not won a game since above... Lions since have taken every team out back and whooped their candy azzes Window WIDE OPEN boys, and Lions are once again officially Kings of the NFC North. Lez go. On the Lions: Good win. Jared tried to force some things, and they kept the run pretty containted, but I thought the defense stepped up and played great. Special teams played great. This is again a deep team that can hurt you from so many different angles. The bad: DJ Reed is hurt hurt and is definately not playing next week. Terrion Arnold is hurt as well, but might play next week. So both our starting CBs could be out against the bengals... but honestly who gives AF. Joe Burrow is out for them, so theyre basically FUQT. And even if Jake Browning has a good game im confident with Amik Roberstson and Khlalil Dorsey in the backfield as long as Kerby and Branch are there to back them up. So roll the Bengals in week 5, rest up, and get our corners back for week 6 against the Chiefs. A chiefs team that looks WASHED this year. AND we might have Alim McNeil at nose tackle back for that game, which should literally take the Dline to another level... Enjoy this ride fellas

I had no idea that former Lions HC Jim Schwartz was the DC for Celevland lol A very sobering outside perspective though. >jim doesnt believe Gibbs and Monty are at all different, and they dont run different plays. Theyre just good.... he obviously recognizes that our overall scheme is setup the run, then playaction pass. His solution = shutdown the run. I predicted this in my last post. Schwartz will TRY to attack our run game, which can throw off our entire gameplan. The sobering part IMO was his take on Gibbs n Monty. A little spooky how figured out he has them. Everyone refers to them as sonic (speed) and knuckles (power)... but he's absolutely correct that they dont run different plays, which i think Lions fans need to acknowledge. Schwartz even expressly says we tend to run DUO and WIDE ZONE run plays. Which isnt wrong.... Jim is coming for our run game. He knows thats our bread n butter. And he knows our interior Oline is young n weak, and that's where he will attack. If you believe him, his backup plan is their superior open field tackling. AIR IT OUT AIR IT OUT AIR IT OUT This is the game where you let Goff and his recievers cook. Bring the tackles in, protect the pocket, and pass the ball. That said, i wouldnt be at all surprised if Dan Campbell does the exact opposite and pounds the run game lol art of war is doing the opposite of what ur enemy expects...

Too soon plan: Between Xmas and TDL, acquire Mario Ferraro LHD off the Sharks. Send them Berggren and Ras in exchange. They will value the long contract and RFA control these players have. Ferraro isnt someone theyre going to want to pay at this point - but we will. Allow JVR and Kane to walk in UFA, as well as all our UFA Dmen = Chia, Holl, Gus, Hamonic I love Kane, but he'll be a 37 year old purely offensive player. He no longer fits into the mold of what this team is becoming. Next year: Finnie - Larkin - Raymond Dcat - Kasper - Soderblom Mazur - Copp - Appleton Lombardi - Compher - Danielson Edvinsson - Seider Ferraro - ASP Johansson - Bernard Docker Gibson Cossa Finnie has displayed his chemistry with Larks and Ray. And each time this kid plays a single min on the ice he gets 100 times better. Gift him that role... the do everything puck retreiver for Larks and Ray. Kasper and Dcat can hold down a 2nd line. Soderblom is the giant enigmatic x-factor that would add added dimension to that line. 3rd line = shutdown line. 4th line = 2 kids and an old goat. JTC will keep them honest. Danny will provide added defense, and Lombardi and depth scoring element. At D: Ferraro is a shut down Dman who could play well on any of our pairings.

Browns on Sunday. Packers beat us, and the Browns beat the Packies... i dont put much stock into that. I'm confident game 1 was a settling in game for us, and we take the cheesefuqs in our 2nd meeting. However, this will be an interesting test. IMO the Lions have the highest powered offense in the league and the Browns have the highest powered defense in the league. They will test our new younger Oline in a big way. Decker and Sewell should be able to stifle their edge stud in Myles Garret, but their interior Dline will have more leeway and will look to shutdown our signature run game. I expect lots of playaction passing from Goff, and more airing it out than normal. Specifically, we need to spread the ball out. St Brown and Jamo will be on lockdown by the Browns. Time to activate Teslaa and LaPorta... both have seen limited targets through the first 3 games. Now is the time to use those secret weapons. Further, this is a game where - if i was MCDC - i would pull back on trick plays and going for it on 4th downs. Their offense is GARBAGE. Allow their offense to play. But bury them with good punts and allow our defense to feast on their mistakes. The team that wins the turnover battle likely wins this game. Play conservative and smart and our chances will come. All we need is 17 pts to put this game away.

This basically. ASP is compared to Karlsson for a reason. Wings will try to turn him into a Rafalski, but until then a good coach will deploy him 60-70% of the time in the Ozone. Why I ranked at 3 behind only Aug and ASP. His raw attributes give him extreme upside. If he can play smart he has the toolbox to better than most every other player.

My bold ranking of our prospects. This is based on percieved career potential or long term outlook, not current NHL readiness: 1. ASP - RHD - far too talented not to be #1. Prime Erik Karlsson potential. 2. Augustine - G - one of the most dominant NCAA goalies to ever play in that league. True elite potential. 3. MBN - RW - raw tools undeniable. Big strong quick and talented. Potential beast powerforward. 4. Buchnelikov - LW - extremely fast and crafty scoring forward. Definite top6 potential. 5. Plante - C - underrated in his age group. Plays a foot taller than he is. Top6 possible. 6. Finnie - C/W - late bloomer that gets significantly better each time he touches the ice. Does everything. Top6 possible. 7. Kiiskinen - RW - hardworking talent. Likely middle6. 8. Lombardi - C - nifty playmaker. Likely middle6. 9. Danielson - C - steady twoway forward. Likely middle6. 10. Bear - LW - very early to know, but appears to have at least middle6 upside. 11. Cossa - G - #1 potential exists, but seems to be more of a Howard than a Price. 12. Mazur - RW - hardworking talent. Middle6 likely. What concerns me is not a single Dman besides ASP made my top12. With Ed + Mo + ASP this isn't too concerning, as our top3 D seem to be our best players. But it would be nice to get some good cheap young plug n play Dman who can boost that group over the top. Buium and Wallinder arent much more exciting to me than AJo. Goalie future seems set. Forward future seems set, however we dont have much in terms of legit superstar talent. The group seems more like a plethora of hardworking win by commitee guys.

Finally going to comment on the Ravens game... The Kings of the North are BACK BB. Packers game 1 was an adjustment phase, and boy did we adjust. O line has stepped up. Offensive play calling has recovered. We back in this shidt. Special mention: Kelvin Sheppard - New D coordinator. Against Williams and Jackson he was able to do what Aaron Glenn always struggled with: Contain mobile QBs. There's a concept called "crush the can". You use your Dline to corrall the opponents Oline and QB into a "can" and then you start to "crush" or contain. Its not about getting sacks, its about controlling and pressuring. Forcing the QB to panic throw or scramble into lanes youve already anticipated where the spy linebacker is there to pick them up. Shep has done this beautiffuly. We turned our biggest weakness into a strength literally right away. Further, im still not sold on Terrion Arnold at DB. And Dan Campbell seems to agree. He said after the game that Amik Robertson will likely get some looks at starting corner. Lastly, Al Quin Muhhammed - fuqin beastly game at DE. I hope he's our Davenport / Ownzrikque replacement and keeps this play going.

With Danielson, Finnie, Mazur, and Lombardi knocking... id be prepping to ship out Berggren and Ras b4 Xmas if they dont preform. Especially with MBN and Buchnelikov coming quickly down the pipe as well. It's gonna suck watching Mason Applebottom and James Van-Dutchboi fill out the bottom 6 with the forwards we have waiting.

Forward contracts are pretty fukt. No one expiring and loads of NTCs. Ras and Berggren need to be traded. Defense = only continued contracts after this year are seider + ed + ajo. We need to pursue Dmen. Sacrafice some forwards.

Kasper looks reallllyyyy strong out there. I'm not convinced its sophomore slump time for him. If last year was his coming out party, i think this year is probably his look who's a 60+ pt center year. I think biggest impact will be him this year. Mo, Ray, and Ed should also be making bigger impacts again.

Big win today. Everything looked better. Playcalling. The O-line. The run game. Everything. It's the Bears sure, but IMO this team has gotten quickly back on track. Reminder: last week the bears nearly beat the vikings. We just CRUSHED them. I'm losing faith in Terrion Arnold. They talked all preseason about how much progress he's made, and how he plays like a CB1... Through 2 games he's getting burned ALOT. The rookie interior-line played MUCH better this week. 50 POINTS BETCH FUQ ON THE GOFFENSE out

The pass rush needs to be totally different. If you can't pressure the QB with 4 guys YOU NEED to blitz ur linebackers. We "supposedly" have a great defensive back core so we gotta trust them to cover and bring more guys to attack the line scrimmage. On offense ur studs are your tackles. WHY TF ARE THEY NOT UR LEAD BLOCKERS ON THE MAJORITY OF RUN PLAYS??? St Brown is the most reliable WR1 in the league. Jamo can run deep and take the top off a defense. Teslaa can bring down about any high ball. We utilized absolutely 0% of those strengths. TLDR: John Morton is bad and i dont like him.

    2025 Lions Thread

Ya boys done did it. Honestly Packers looked good... but the Lions gave that game away. The play calling was unbelievably bad. The narrative about the Lions losing both coordinators = suck, may very well be true. Morton clearly had no idea how to use his weapons, and Sheps defense wasnt much better. Campbell defended them saying they need time to adjust and work out kinks... but holy fuq that was bad. And what we all feared was glaring: the interior O-line, our biggest strength the last few years, SUCKED BALLS. Glasgow is a poor mans #1 center. Mahogany got mauled. Rookie Ratledge made rookie mistakes. We cannot implement our 1/2 run game without a good O line. And Goff doesnt have the protected pocket to pass effectively. Of course... a smart coordinator could work around that. Implement outside run plays and use our blocking WRs. But unfortantely Morton is apparently regarded and only wants to run highschool bubble screens. WHY TF IS GIBBS RUNNING UP THE CENTER ON A 5 YARD RUN PLAY U FUQQING MORON. Packies deserved that win. We were nancies out there and Ben Johnson is gonna make us look like stupid next week unless Campbell does some serious shidt this week to his shidt coordinators.

    > Gibbs/Montgomery are arguably the best runningback duo in the country. Nicknamed Sonic (Gibbs) and Knuckles (Monty), because Gibbs is the fast elusive back, and Monty is the strong power punching back. Theyre our one/two punch in the offensive game, and we play a run first offense. >QB Goff can barely run or scramble, so he stays in the pocket and uses a lot of play action (faking the hand off to the running back and then passing) >our WR's are really good >our defense is an old school throwback. A lot of blitzing, alot of focus on stopping the run, a lot of man to man press coverage in the backfield. >edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson will likely be up for defensive player of the year if he stays healthy, and should be flirting with breaking the single season sack record. >the exciting rookie is Isaac Teslaa. Big white kid who plays WR and is from Michigan. The general zeitgeist is the Lions window is wide open, but we gotta get it done. Lots of key injuries have cost in the past so were terrified of injuries and need the team to stay healthy. Our offense is arguably the most high powered in the league, but our defense is only average. But our D could be elite if guys stay healthy.
