Is Yzerman doing the same thing Babcock and Bowman did? Jumping ships to be on competitive teams? Hear me out: Yzerman joins the wings front office as VP of Hockey Ops in 2006, pretty much right in the middle of the height of our glory. Wins a cup in 08, and barely missed another in 09. But as soon as the decline begins in 2010 he immediately gets the heck out of dodge and joins Tampa. A team that already had young superstars Stamkos and Hedman ready to go, and a plethora of superstar vets like Lecavalier and MSL to teach them. Yet he is never able to put together a championship team with them, and when the inevitable decline begins, he immedately flips back to Detroit, a team that had already started the rebuilding process b4 he arrived, and had a young core of Larkin, Mantha, Bertuzzi, and Hronek. As well as a number of high draft picks ready to funnel in, in Zadina, Veleno, Berggren, McIsaac, Svechnikov, Lindstrom, Cholowski, Smith, and Rasmussen. But little did he know, the future wasnt so bright, and his former mentor had failed him, because almost all those Detroit prospects would fizzle out during his tenure in Detroit. And now he's found himself trapped 5 years deep in a team that's still rebuilding... Is he too trapped at this point to leave? His bff Verbeek jumped ship almost immediately on him after arriving.

Good Hak is trash -
They did the same s*** when "Phanuef was better than Chara" and "Kessell was gaining on Ovechkin". Then 5 years later they deny ever saying either. Rince and repeat.

Unlike our defense? Youre gonna replace our already bad defense with rookies?

Would love to see Matt Rempe play 20+ min a night, but that will never happen
-
Rempe plays like 5 to 6 minutes a night.

So how do they convince pajama johnny to fuq off elsewhere? Thats gonna be a hard sell after he sold out NYI to live his girlhood fantasy of being the leafs captain.

Definately: Holl will be gone via buyout or trade Probably: Maata makes a lot of sense with Ed and AJo joining the team. Too many LHD and not enough RHD. Maybe: Fabbri is a prime aged player that has been growing with this group for a while now. Doesnt make a lot of sense to move an asset like that. But he is often injured, and if there's a clear upgrade this could happen. Unlikely: Husso is a different situation than Ned. Ned was always an unproven project. Husso has a good track record outside of this year. The team was also allowing a ton of goals on all our goalies this year, so its hard to put all blame on him. We also have backup options in Lyon, and possibly Cossa, that werent around when Ned was starter... so the team has less of a need to desperately scramble for a new starter like we had to do with Ned. The team also included Husso in EOY media interviews... unlike Fabbri, Holl, and Maata. Something you wouldnt be inclinded to do if you planned to turn and burn the player. Conclusion: The money saved on Maata and Holl would definately go towards a new RHD. If predictions on guys like Roy and Pesce are correct they will command 5.5 - 6.5 mil. If Holl is a buyout there wont be any extra funds after this. So it may require moving Fabbri to keep Kane. IMO Husso doesnt move, but we may see another Reimeresque 3rdstring added to the mix.

You doubt theres a clause in the sales agreement sending the coyotes to Utah that if Merulo can build an arena in Arizona within 5 years he will be awarded an expansion team? Cause there is. -

And this is why the Bruins make the playoffs every year. Brad starts pro-hypno brainwasing day 1. Someone send this article to Dylan and Mo. Personally I prefer the babcockian approach: If you ladies leave my rink, if you survive prospect training, you will be a shopwrecker. You will be a minister of truculence praying for scrums. But until that day, you are LGW whipping boys. You are the lowest form of life on the internet. You are not even human fuqqing beings. You are nothing but unorganized puck-watching pieces of floater shid! Because I am hard, you will not like me. But the more you hate me, the more you will learn. I am hard but I am fair. There is no xenophobic bigotry here. I do not look down on Svens, Teemus, Slavas or Jean-Claudes. Here you are all equally worthless. And my orders are to weed out all benders who do not pack the gear to serve in my beloved Wheel. Do you pigeons understand that?

I dont have much interest in Chychrun at this point. The Sens team average was -5, and Chychrun is sporting a team worst -30. And when you consider that he led their defense in even strength points, that makes it even worse. The guy is letting A LOT of goals into his own net. Yzerman wants to improve overall team D, not pick up guys like this. Pretty much everyone who has come out of that Coyotes team in the last several years has played much worse after leaving. The only one I can think of that didnt is Domi. But then even he had a sharp decline after his first and only big year with the habs. Buyer beware on Chychrun. IMO id rather pick up a RHD in UFA than spend assets for a guy like this that is also ANOTHER LHer.

Youre joking but this is exactly how corporate teams are these days. Like Karaken rum being anncounced as the official drink/liquor of the Seattle team b4 they even announced the name.

Yeah hes French Dan Cleary. Daviel Clearron.

This exactly why I think we should take a step back, let Ghost and Kane go, and reload with youngsters. We want to build a Bruins team, and not a Leafs team that thinks they can spend their way to a cup. Bruins did it the right way, and despite every year folks saying "Bruins are about to collapse" here they are again. Because they built that culture and their young guys and UFAs are forced to buy into that culture. Leafs never accomplished or built anything besides drafting a few top guys then immedately trying to spend their way to the top. No one on that team has been there or done that and it shows. And thats exactly why we shouldnt knee jerk mortgage the future to push for a playoff run next year. Stay the course. Trust the plan.

We still have Perron. There was that interview with Newsy awhile back, sometime around our first skid, where Newsy said Perron stood up in the room and said OKAY, WERE GETTING 18 OF OUR NEXT 20 PTS, and Newsy said he was all like "David, lets keep it realistic" but then they went out and did exactly as Perron had declared they would. Thats why I want to at least keep Perron another season.

Dahlin, Pettersson, and Zabinejad are okay I guess. Id like to see us continue to exploit the growing Austro-German market instead. Seider, Kasper, Bicker... this is where the future draft steals will be had.
-
Yeah Yzerman is done "outscoring our problems". Subtracting Kane and Ghost is subtracting the two players who only want to play the offensive side of the puck. Its also probably about 10 million off our books. Burgers and Edvinsson taking their spots is the long term internal growth we want to push for.
