This team, with the lottery, is gonna end up picking 6 or 7. Serves them right.

Huh? Not sure I understand, but ok. Where the pessimism is, I not sure. Also, I'm not even sure where the hopeless optimism is. I guess it's wrong to be optimistic in the off season. Nevermind, guess it's not time to return yet.

I'm not thinking that they want to trade him, but it is good to know that is one less NTC that may handcuff Yzerman. (or if Holland is still doing things after 6-15-19. But you never know what may transpire come draft. Maybe some team would want him. He isn't bad, but IMO, just not enough room on our roster anymore. Cheaper, just as talented players we could bring up.

Good news on the Darren Helm NTC. It states that NTC can be VOIDED between 6-15-2019 and the 2019-2020 TDL IF player is not in the top 9 TOI for forwards OR Team fails to make the playoffs. Well, June is approaching and obviously we did not qualify for the playoffs, so his NTC can be voided if they want to trade him at the draft or beyond! Plus he's ranked 11th in TOI for forwards to boot!

Holland will not do this, but I will. Here is my 2019 off season (with us winning Jack Hughes.) First, I buyout BOTH Ericsson and Daley at a cap hit of $2.1M for the season, and even less the next. Of course Franzen and Z are moved to LTIR, opening up TONS of cap space. So here is my hopeful 2019-2020 Red Wings:

Sorry i asked...

Twas not a suggestion to replace Hronek or Cholowski. If we win the Hughes lottery, I just figure it would be great to have both on our team. Especially since Hughes was 100% going to be our pick until Zadina fell to us. Plus it was just a question of opinion.

Well, Trade Centre just said it looks like Detroit is done for the day.

Gustav Nyquist traded to Sharks for 2019 Second Round pick and 2020 3rd round conditional pick.

Here's my quick conspiracy take on this trade: Detroit has every intention of giving Nyquist his money come July. His mission in SJ, which by waiving his NTC, he chose to accept, is to bring Karlsson back with him. His reward will be the 5 yr $5.5M contract. That's it. Lol, the guy on trade centre just said Detroit is listening to offers on vet D, Stefan Kronwall.... -
Ya, I'd rather see if Vancouver would take Rasmussen for Hughes.
-
Cholowski for Trouba.

Nick Jensen + 2019 5th Round Pick (BUF) Traded to WSH for Madison Bowey + 2020 2nd Round Pick

So this means Ericsson will be back in and full tank is on? I am saddened by this, but Yzerman does get an extra 2nd in 2020 already. Next up Nyquist. -
That simulator is stupid. The first four times I did it, Vancouver won twice and Minny gained 10 spots and Florida jumped 11 spots before Vancouver won again, then Detroit. The top two didn't get a sniff. That being said, i still believe it will take a miracle for us to win it.

I wasn't aware Colorado was a lottery team....ugh that would suck!
-
It's just me with my conspiracy theories. Carry on.

After using the tankathon about 20 times, the team's that won the lottery the majority of the time were New Jersey and Vancouver. Detroit only once. It makes me feel that if we aren't going to win #1, I'd rather finish between 5-10 and possibly move up bit than finish 1-2 and get dumped on by the balls, which will probably happen. There's no way the NHL allows Detroit to get Jack Hughes. Not while Bettman is in charge.

2/20 Caca 4 Kakko GDT - Blackhawks @ Red Wings - 7:30 PM ET (NBCSN)

Ottawa should be trying hard NOT to tank since they don't even own their 1st round pick. -
Would anyone trade Rasmussen for Quin Hughes?
-
If the price isn't right, I will just assume re-sign them. Both Gus and Jimmy have earned new contracts here. My price id a 1st for each. Bottom line. I do not want a low 2nd from a contender. Gus can have 4 years to help this rebuild along, and even Jimmy probably won't be here for our next Cup, Bernier is garbage (hated the signing from day 1) and right now, we really don't have a G to step in and be a #1. So, I am sure you are picking you jaw up off the floor ATM, but if we don't get at LEAST a 1st for each, I am keeping Gus and Jimmy and extending them. If I am the GM, I already have agreements on the table for them to sign if we don't move them. Again, I want no part of moving Jensen, but again, if a 2nd+ comes my way, I probably would, but I would hate it.
-
Of all the players being talked about, I will be the most upset if Jensen is traded. I've been in his corner for a long, long time.
-
If I were Ottawa, I'd be offering Colorado Stone plus to get their own 1st back this year.
-
Just a quick note. Jensen has ALWAYS had a spot on this team, for pete's sake he was protected in the expansion draft. Whoever the guy is that said "before this season" it looked like he had no spot on the team should really look back into that assumption. Also, while I am here for a minute, I am ok with Blashill coming back, he does play some kids alot, we just have to get rid of the vets that he plays so he has no choice but to play more kids. Ironic about Stevie "running the team" in the background. No, the info about him taking over Jan 1 was off, but when I asked my buddy about what I read here, he said when he asked Russ, Russ told him he is sworn to secrecy when it comes to Yzerman now. Whatever happens and whenever, it is all getting VERY interesting!

Toronto pays a ransom for a D man, and Holland us talking "stand pat" the make playoffs next season. It's a great time to be a Wings fan. Ugh...
