Nick Jensen + 2019 5th Round Pick (BUF) Traded to WSH for Madison Bowey + 2020 2nd Round Pick
LeftWinger replied to Dabura's topic in General
So this means Ericsson will be back in and full tank is on? I am saddened by this, but Yzerman does get an extra 2nd in 2020 already. Next up Nyquist. -
That simulator is stupid. The first four times I did it, Vancouver won twice and Minny gained 10 spots and Florida jumped 11 spots before Vancouver won again, then Detroit. The top two didn't get a sniff. That being said, i still believe it will take a miracle for us to win it.
-
I wasn't aware Colorado was a lottery team....ugh that would suck!
-
It's just me with my conspiracy theories. Carry on.
-
After using the tankathon about 20 times, the team's that won the lottery the majority of the time were New Jersey and Vancouver. Detroit only once. It makes me feel that if we aren't going to win #1, I'd rather finish between 5-10 and possibly move up bit than finish 1-2 and get dumped on by the balls, which will probably happen. There's no way the NHL allows Detroit to get Jack Hughes. Not while Bettman is in charge.

2/20 Caca 4 Kakko GDT - Blackhawks @ Red Wings - 7:30 PM ET (NBCSN)
LeftWinger replied to Dabura's topic in General
Ottawa should be trying hard NOT to tank since they don't even own their 1st round pick. -
Would anyone trade Rasmussen for Quin Hughes?
-
If the price isn't right, I will just assume re-sign them. Both Gus and Jimmy have earned new contracts here. My price id a 1st for each. Bottom line. I do not want a low 2nd from a contender. Gus can have 4 years to help this rebuild along, and even Jimmy probably won't be here for our next Cup, Bernier is garbage (hated the signing from day 1) and right now, we really don't have a G to step in and be a #1. So, I am sure you are picking you jaw up off the floor ATM, but if we don't get at LEAST a 1st for each, I am keeping Gus and Jimmy and extending them. If I am the GM, I already have agreements on the table for them to sign if we don't move them. Again, I want no part of moving Jensen, but again, if a 2nd+ comes my way, I probably would, but I would hate it.
-
Of all the players being talked about, I will be the most upset if Jensen is traded. I've been in his corner for a long, long time.
-
If I were Ottawa, I'd be offering Colorado Stone plus to get their own 1st back this year.
-
Just a quick note. Jensen has ALWAYS had a spot on this team, for pete's sake he was protected in the expansion draft. Whoever the guy is that said "before this season" it looked like he had no spot on the team should really look back into that assumption. Also, while I am here for a minute, I am ok with Blashill coming back, he does play some kids alot, we just have to get rid of the vets that he plays so he has no choice but to play more kids. Ironic about Stevie "running the team" in the background. No, the info about him taking over Jan 1 was off, but when I asked my buddy about what I read here, he said when he asked Russ, Russ told him he is sworn to secrecy when it comes to Yzerman now. Whatever happens and whenever, it is all getting VERY interesting!

Toronto pays a ransom for a D man, and Holland us talking "stand pat" the make playoffs next season. It's a great time to be a Wings fan. Ugh...
-
I too am in a 2019 rebuild. I'm not gone guys, this holiday season has just been so hard on my family. Take care of this place, I'll check in every so often. FWIW, I'd take Datsyuk back. Those Russians play great into their 40's. God Bless.
-
...and this is why banned user should remain banned. MODS should re-clean this place up.
-
yep, right now Ottawa sits dead last with the best odds to get the #1. Meaning, ugh, Jack Hughes to the Avs. We just need to sell at the deadline, all the players that we are talking about and get as many picks/prospect in return and hit dead bottom before the season ends. Still, Avs are pretty much guaranteed a top 5 pick. Bleh!
-
Nobody cares about your sarcasm, it really takes away from the conversation. My point is, Holland should listen to all inquiries and explore all avenues to get more draft picks. A BAD GM would just hang up the phone on a Kronwall inquiry without asking Kronner what he'd like to do. Kenny should be that GOOD GM and go to him and ask him if he'd like another shot at the Cup. a 1st for Gus and a Prospect for Howard is not the moon or unquestionable. That is far and away from your extreme feeble attempt at belittling me by saying what you did about a TDL return. Grow up.
-
Pit has been rumored to be interested in Howard. You may laugh, but even Ken Daniels eluded to it last night, there will be teams that will be asking about renting Kronwall. If Kenny is a good GM, if someone calls, Kenny should approach Kronner and give him the choice. Tell him "listen, Toronto wants you for a Cup run, if you want to get one more shot, I'll trade you there, if you'd rather just skate into the sunset in Detroit, that's cool too. It's your choice." I am good either way. I could see a 3rd round pick for Kronwall. I HOPE someone wants Ericsson, PLEASE!!! Daley would be much better on a better team in need of depth, he is called upon too much here. Nyquist and Howard MUST be dealt to get maximum return. 1st round for Nyquist, prospect for Howard.
-
You do not trade AA. Period. I'd trade Mantha and Rasmussen for that top D for sure. If we were acquiring one via trade. Like I said above, I'd rather continue to let our NHL quality D grow and supply them with an elite goalie to bail them out here and there. Howard is not it,he should be dealt at the TDL and NOT re-signed as our starter. If he is not dealt, still NO to re-signing him as our starter. If we somehow dumped Bernier and then wanted Howard as our backup, that's fine. Howard is NOT a quality starter.
-
A lot of us have been on the "sign Karlsson" wagon, but I do agree with your thoughts on continuing to develop our D instead. How about we throw top $$$$ at Bobvrosky this summer? We NEED a goalie that is a game changer. Howard is not it, Bernier is crap, especially at $3M. We do not have any goalie in the pipeline that seems to be a game changer. Throw a ton of cash at Sergei and let our D develop around him and our young D. If we're lucky enough to get a top 5 (#1 hopefully) we'll no doubt draft a kid with huge NHL potential, then add to that a game changing G, we'd be sitting pretty good going forward. Last night's game is an all too familiar reminder of how Howard is not a game changer. All three goals were soft ones. Bad D or not, we need a game changing G.

The Line of AA-Larkin-Hughes will make Larkin ELITE. Getting the Abby's, Helm's, Glendening's away from Larkin will make Larkin ELITE. Helm-AA-Glendening? WTF are you smoking, dude, your AA hate has gone way beyond my Hudler, Franzen hate... AA is the 1B best player on this team. Larkin and AA are the core to build around. Any and ALL other forwards are tradeable if comparing to these two. AA may never be the 2C, but he damn well is talented enough to be top 3 1st line winger. Thanks for the laugh though! Needed it!

Everyone was worried as well that Zetterberg's offense would not be replaced. Players step up. Also just remember what Holland swindled for Tatar, a team will pay up for Nyquist. If Toronto is already looking to shop Liljegren, why not a 1st and him in a small bidding war? But I do agree somewhat, if a prospect is coming back, the pick would be lower or maybe not there at all. But if it's just a pick, a 1st is no way out of the question for what Nyquist would bring to a team that needs a player to get them over. They are in a win now mode, their team will be different next season with the $22M dollar players that will need to be re-signed. Maybe a rental of Nyquist for a Cup run intrigues them more than we think. He is a Babcock guy. IF any team comes calling to rent Kronwall, I see it being Toronto. Again, it will be all totally up to Kronner, but it's not 100% out of the question he wouldn't go for one more Cup with his former coach. Meh! Stranger things have happened on TDL day!
-
Btw, if Daley is traded, he wont come back next year, he still has term left on his contract. I would not retain salary because of that as well. If a 2nd and decent prospect seems a good return, then I'd move him for That! Maybe Vegas? Colorado?
-
Ok, here we go! I love when these threads are made! I agree on Nyquist, re-sign in Detroit or not, we need to trade him for that 1st and prospect. How about to Toronto for their 1st and Liljegren? Howard to PIT for C.Addison. Daley to a Contender for a 2nd and 3rd. (Two picks because he has term left) Jensen I want to re-sign, but again, if we could turn him for a pick or prospect, we should. But I make him a priority July 1. Jensen to Tampa for Volkov. I would also shop Ericsson and listen if anyone calls on Kronwall. I know Kronner 99.999999% won't get moved, but if an offer comes in from a Contender approach Kronwall and give him the choice, out of respect for his career with us. Stay and retire from here or get one more shot At a Cup choice is totally his. I'm sure the return would only be a pick. Ericsson could also be a solid depth D for a contending team. Could get another 3rd in return. I'd also listen on offers for Helm, Vanek and disney.com. But doubt they get moved.

Schmaltz? He was placed on waivers by St. Louis, any interest?

1/4 Convalescence GDT - Predators @ Red Wings - 7:30 PM ET

Sorry folks, AA is pure sniper. We got one. Blashill just needs to play him more. Hey, here's an idea, Abby and Helm in the top 6.
