Oh, just like the Omnipotent 2008 Franzen, 27 goals 11 assists....finisher, nothing more. It's ok, whether someone thinks he a floater, or if someone thinks he is a more rounded player that is offensive minded, his 25+ goals this season are going to be highlight reel ones and they'll help this team.

No, I like Z, I was just going by what I read, really, I hope he plays until he cannot anymore and I am all for #40 going up as soon as possible. I just figured that with Osgood not leaving voluntarily, it seemed that he was the squeakier one. I believe he had more animosity for Legace than Hasek. Manny's Father-In-Law, whom I work with, can attest to that. He always said he and Ozzie never got along. But that doesn't mean Ozzie didn't have a problem with Hasek either, Maybe Ozzie is more of a drama queen than most realize... But ya, I am a Z fan and want him to play and see his number retired.

really though, Ozzie is (going to be) the only one who never "left" the organization on his own. Feds left UFA, Dats quit on his contract, Hank (as honorable as he has been) even said recently that when he signed the 12 year deal, never intended on finishing the contract (and that was before his back problems.) Ozzie was waived because he made too much money (t the time) and then when he became a UFA out of St. Louis, he came right back. IMO, Ozzie has the cleanest slate.

The first one you speak of was a great forecheck by Nyquist, but since when is finding the open spot on the ice in the O-Zone considered floating? The 2nd one you speak of you need to watch again and see exactly who it was who brought the puck into the O-Zone and made a great pass to Nyquis and then was in the right spot at the right time for the loose puck. 1st one of the video he makes John Carlson look like a peewee, as he does with Oduya. It's amazing how much AA makes All-Star and All-World D-Men look like minor leaguer's. Just look at the Columbus goal, AA is floating around doing his best Holmstrom impersonation. Is that what Holmer did best? Float? The Philly goal AA makes the poke check to free the puck, then uses his lightning speed to blast past the defenders and receive the pass perfectly and embarrass yet another goalie. Pit goal, right off the bench at the right moment, perfect pass up the seam. Speed got him between the two defenders. Can't call that floating. 2nd Philly goal, was deep in the D-Zone covering his man, then used his lightning speed to jump on the loose puck, result? Embarrassed goalie. Boston goal on the PP, just a perfect shot from the slot, he had a man on him, were they both floating? Tampa goal, again, when is finding yourself the open spot in the O-Zone called floating? He was in the mess of players and got himself open for the one timer. Columbus Shootout goal...well, yo can say he was out there at center by himself on that one... If we're honestly going to call ANY of those goals "floating" around, you should watch the 15-16 Larkin Video that comes up, very, VERY similar goal selections...man we got a bunch of floaters on this team. AA is legit and is a huge part of this team. Most electric goal scorer on the team. Until we see what Zadina can do...

It does kind of bring more light to signing a forward we really didn't need. Insurance. I'm not sure Holland is willing to part with what it would take to acquire a top defender, so I don't think signing Vanek was an indicator that a trade is coming. I think it was Zetterberg insurance. Makes more sense than Holland getting Faulk, Trouba or Krug. Hope I'm wrong, because of D needs an upgrade for sure.

It's in the link I posted, but here is the comment on Vanek, just saying that his signing makes a little more sense now, if indeed Hank may be done. Also earlier in the article it states that team doctors are not ready to clear him yet. That is why I posted links to what I read.

My thoughts exactly. Maybe he doesn't want to play for any of these teams that are willing to trade for him now (with the extension in place and Bobby Ryan.) At the deadline, Ottawa could turn him for at least a knights ransom, instead of a kings, to a contender who just wants that rental for a Cup run, at the TDL someone could take on Ryan's contract as well, when they have more cap room available. I, for one, do not want to trade for him, but would love to offer him the world in July to finish his career here in Little Sweden...but, by then, we'll be more of a Michigan Mafia.

Maybe Hronek forces Jensen to be 7th D. If Hronek makes the club, it won't be to be 7th D, that I agree with. But if Blashil "wants" him there to run the PP, then he won't be 7th D. That'll make Jensen to rotate with someone. We can't keep saying the kids are ready, then send them to GR and believe that's a positive thing. Zadina anywhere but Detroit is not a positive. (not saying it he won't be in GR, because that is typical Holland(spout off about promotions, change and deserving kids, but demote them anyhow,) its just not a positive thing.) I agree that the Vanek signing was a huge indicator that Holland is almost certain Z is done. What may happen is Zadina and Z start in the AHL/NHL respectively and then by December Z can't go anymore and Zadina is here for good. That is a more sensible scenario than Z being done outright already. But it does concern met that the team doctors are not able to say he is clear to play as of yet. Anyhow, we'll see soon enough! If Z can play, he'll play his heart out until he cannot play anymore.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want him to go. If he plays, that just means we'll have to waive Frk and we should still be good cap-wise if we can get Larkin to a friendly bridge deal.

I believe that Hronek has passed Hicketts on the ladder. From things I have read, that is what I feel.

To play devils advocate, maybe that is the holdup in any trades going down, Karlsson want to become a UFA next July, maybe he doesn't want to get traded already signed. It's quite possible that he has a team or two that he wants to play in and he just doesn't want to signed a deal with any of these teams that are willing to give up the ransom to have him this year. You never know... maybe we'll be looking at DD selling his #65 come July 2019. I mean, do you think he'd take one and stay in Ottawa for his last season in order to get to UFA? Obviously there is no team going to pay a ransom for a one year rental. Maybe he could get dealt at the TDL for a playoff run for a contender.

Come on D-Boss, give us that bridge deal! Remove Franzen and (ugh) Z from the lineup and that makes Frk and Witko the healthy scratches giving way to Zadina and Rasmussen! I love this deal for Mantha. It's a win-win for both parties. He'll get 30 goals in both of these years, then get his payday. Larkin will become our leader (once he signs) and then get his payday in two years as well! All while Ras and Zadina are still on ELC's, then will come their bridge deals! Ok, ok, slow down...great deal for Mantha, lets get Larkin done and move on with a trade for a defender.

Odd, I don't see a lot of hanging around center ice doing nothing... I do see a lot of hard earned goals and his lightning quick speed leaving all-star defenders in the dust or looking for their jocks after he fights through them our dekes around them though...
