In a heart there are four chambers, in my life I was blessed with four individuals that filled those chambers with life and love, today I lost one. I will be taking a break from things for a while. Stay awesome my friends. -

I notice Calgary does not have a pick until the 4th round! Maybe they'd be interested in acquiring a late 1st and an early 2nd? -

Nah, that was WAAAAAY before the "pages." I said awhile ago I prefer Bouchard and Dobson over Hughes and Boqvist, and someone said "why? because they are under 6'? Then it also came to their style of play "small and skilled." That's ok, because from here on out, I have reference to the Wings saying they prefer Bouchard and Dobson (the same players I prefer) for the same reasons! It's ok guys, even though your narrative fails on a daily basis, its fun to read your silly trolling! I know you are, but what am I? -

What? Are they now Bigots and anti-small finesse player now too? Isn't it strange that I say the same thing and I am a bigot or anti-finesse Euro-Style player, or whatever you want to call it, but its news worthy when someone in the know says it...hmmm, maybe I am on to something, no? They prefer Zadina or Svech? Wow! Everyone in the hockey world says that Svech is the most NHL ready and the closest thing to a superstar in the draft (forwards.) Maybe they prefer Zadina, not only because he is good (is he also a center?) but they want Carolina to draft Svech so they can trade them the other Svech. Imagine this if you could, Wings get Zadina, Bouchard, Dobson AND Wahlstrom! All without losing Larkin or Mantha. Dunno how, but Kenny would be Da'Man! I think the writer is correct though, Detroit will trade the #6 and the #30(31) for the #3 or #4. Maybe offering Ottawa the #6 and their 2nd rounder back, maybe they could swing the #4 and at least get Dobson or Bouchard. Zadina is electrifying, but dang it, if they were going O, I was really hoping to get Wahlstrom….guess we'll see what Kenny does. Then again, there is talk that Carolina will draft Zadina to play along side Necas. I tend to believe that if they do trade up, its to guarantee one of the big D-men. -

You read correctly, lets hope this is the C/RW they take instead of the other C/LW. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/241370/oliver-wahlstrom -

Not sure how we'd get up to #2 but I hear ya...they say Svechling is the real deal superstar in waiting. -
The #30 is a 1st round pick. Maybe Kip Winger was only 18? I feel silly, this is the absolute 1st time that I am realizing that @kipwinger possibly named himself after Kip Winger. I never even thought of associating the two.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/prince-edward-island/pei-adam-peter-marsh-impaired-driving-charge-1.4437412 Also, seems like he has locker room issues too, here's an old article: http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2015/09/forward_adam_marsh_capitalizes.html ...and another before the draft: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/ct-hockey-billet-family-adam-marsh-spt-1123-20141121-column.html Seems like his attitude has always gotten the best of him...

Not so sure on injuries, but: https://www.cbssports.com/fantasy/hockey/news/red-wings-adam-marsh-re-entering-draft/ He won't be a Red Wing. Looks like he re-entered last draft...dont think he got selected.

I can see your point there. Maybe as fans we are just too impatient. Maybe, like you said, once Holland provides him with a team that is mostly 25 or under, he will do much better.

IMO either draft a franchise D, or package some players (AA and Svech) along with VEG's 1st and our 2nd and then draft Wahlstrom at #6. My Order of Preference: Bouchard Dobson Hughes Boqvist Odds are Boqvist will be gone, but if he truly has no concussion issues, then he would be a great pick for a franchise D too. So honestly, flip a coin if they are all available at #6. But at least ONE of them will be gone. If we go O, then its Wahsltrom, its a no brainer and there should be no debate at the table. As a matter of fact, the only debate should be do we go D or O. Funny though, I have seen so recent mocks where they have Tkachuk falling to us at 6. So, if the team decides to go with O and BOTH Tkachuk and Wahlstrom are there, which do you take? I admit that because of Tkachuk mostly projecting to be in the top 5, I really don't know as much about him as I do Wahlstrom, but again, I think it would be a coin toss and either one would be a win and on our team this fall... -
For as much as I get on Kenny, to me, its all about the coaching. There is ZERO reason (outside of contract length) that Blashill shoudl still be our coach. He is just not a good NHL coach...it happens. Now he does have sucess with young players, so it would seem that he should be doing better here, maybe there is problem between the coaching and the GM-staff. Babcock sure seemed to NOT like dealing with Holland, maybe there are powers pushing Blashill in their direction instead of his own...dunno. But something is not right. That being said, IMO Abby is not a top 6 player under Blashill, neither is Helm. Nyquist has also been hindered under Blashill, but not because of lack if playing time, maybe its how he is being coached. There is no reason why a player with his skill should not be scoring 30 goals. I am not his biggest fan, but I can respect his talent, and he has shown he can be a pure scorer. RE: Neilsen, when he was centering Nyquist and Vanek, they were ALL doing very well, Neilsen needs scoring wingers to get his points, but right now there is no room at C in the top 6, because they refuse to move Z to the wing. Imagine these lines: Nyquist - Larkin - AA Z - Neilsen - Mantha Bertuzzi - Ras - Frk Abby - Glen - Helm Or you could swap Nyquist and Mantha. I know Z says he feels bored out there when he plays winger (she's only 17! 17!,) but hey, if you want Nielsen to put up points, you can't have him on a line with Helm and Abby. RE: Green and Daley It all depends on who we draft this month, or if we make a trade (which would be awesome,) but I don't think we need Green anymore, and starting this TDL Daley can give a list of teams to Holland, so we may be flipping him for some picks. Also Ericsson can submit a list, but not sure many teams would be interested in him. Also with our kids getting close, I think its time to bring a couple up and lets see what they can do. So on D, either draft a D or trade the pick in a package for a young top D, either way, we NEED to have a young D that will become our #1. Which is why I shake my head when people talk about Kenny drafting another young Center. I don't care how well he has climbed the list, if he is not a franchise center, we don't need him, we have plenty of #2-#4 centers now and on the farm. What we don't have is a future #1 D AND a #1 RH'd scoring sniper...or any handed sniping winger. Not unless Mantha REALLY takes off this year and gets even better. IMO, if we are not drafting one of the D with the #6, then trade AA, Svech and the #30(31) and #35 for a top young available D and a lower 2nd and then draft Wahlstrom. We will still get a great player at #33. So, do you think that a package of AA, Svech, #30 and #35 would get us Hanifin? or is that more along the lines of Faulk? Either one of them would become our #1 guy.
-
Exactly, unless it's Jack Hughes next season, we don't need to draft a center this high in the draft this year. Don't waste a high pick on a player you don't need! If Holland does, it's SOP and this team is f***ed. Larkin and Ras are going to be your top 2C's...remember the reason we drafted Ras over a pure sniper last draft? Because we needed a center. If we go O again this draft, we cannot pass on a pure sniper again just to add more to the log jam of middling centers.
-
f*** you NBC sports, you have to remind us of 2009?
-
So, if they'd be interested in the 7th from Vancouver, would you step up and offer them the 6th for Hanifin? Or would you try and get Faulk with a couple of player assets? How about BOTH trades? #6, #36, Svech for Faulk and Hanifin?
-
Keep drafting players we don't need, kenny...

...and the fact that Wahlstrom is 900,000,000 times better than the Finn. If we go O, it has to be Wahlstrom, not a player we don't need because Liiga. -
Tavares more like 8 years $10.5M per.

He does not fit the bill. We have multiple holes, but ATM defense and scoring RW'er are a more pressing need. Next draft (we'll probably be a lottery team again) maybe we can address the need for a high end center. Right now, they just aren't there for us, especially to waste a #6 on one when the more guarantee (dare I say "no brainer") pick would be one of the D or if O, Wahlstrom. If Holland picks Kotkaniemi, he has a serious screw loose and there would be no doubt he is afraid to make the moves needed to rebuild this franchise.
