He ain't gonna trade E or one of Nyquist/Tatar...money's gotta come from somewhere.
-
Well that's encouraging. Maybe it need it's own thread.
-
Don't know who made this, but the benches are wrong, the Wings penalty box in wrong and "The Hit" Vladdy put on the poor Hawerchuk was moreso close to where it says Larkin Fastlane.
-
Don't forget Butcher!
-
Mike Witkowski?
-
I flew over the city yesterday on my way back from FLL tried to snap a pic of it, but we banked hard and I got a blurry one. I'm going back in 2 weeks and will try again on my return. It looks nice.
-
That is why I started my post by saying I would rather hire from outside. We need someone not loyal to these players that Holland just cannot seem to trade.
-
Rasmussen oft injured already.
-
Although I'd rather hire from outside, a good example is Jim Nill. He's an understudy of Holland's and he is way more aggressive than Holland. An issue I'd have with someone from within is possibly having loyalty to the same players Holland has. We need a GM, from within or outside, to come and clean house.
-
Just have to look at Conor Sheary's new contract. 3 yrs, $3M per. Playing with a star, his numbers are good. But now let's look at Abby, Helm and Tatar. That's giving away too much money and it's Holland being loyal to them. If they were being paid what they're worth around the league, they'd be making much less.
-
Could've had him at the draft...
-
Honestly, I have not even voted at all. Good to see though. Holland just needs to fire sale the team and show he wants to put them in the right direction. Enough "loyalty" it's getting you nowhere.
-
Everytime I see this BBC breaking news logo on Twitter, I think it's Red Wings breaking news...im desperate for breaking news!!!
-
We can fire sale now or at the deadline. Either I want that #1 pick. The Svech Brothers will be the new Sedins....sort of.
-
That's probably why it seems like they're getting off cheap. They don't pay 4th liners $3M-$5M dollars or backup goalies $5M or bottom pair D $4M. Or career 13th forwards $1M-$2M. That's the issue. We have a higher payroll than all of last year's playoff teams minus Toronto...and we still need two forwards. Time to dump if you ask me...bring up hungry kids who play over their salary, not entitled crap that play 1/8 of their salary. Fire sale!
-
Actually there is a difference. One you're just looking at tires, the other you're kicking them.
-
There's a bit of a difference between "has interest in" and "will pursue." I think Holland will go hard after him. He's tired of losing out on these young UFA's.
-
YAY! I knew Holland wouldn't let me down again! I love when I predict something and it happens! Not saying that he'll sign here, but out of the blue I just posted the first post saying (hoping really) that Holland make a run at him! Yippee! At least we'll try!

Funny, I heard that same thing from my buddy at work who plays pickup hockey with a Wings trainer, Russ. But I didn't want to say anything about as to avoid any of the old "uncles, neighbor's, dentists, dog sitters, cousin stuff" but it's nice to see others are hearing it too!

I'm hoping Holland lands Butcher. He would be a great start to our D rebuild. In 5 years: Butcher - Cholowski Hronek - Saarijarvi Dekeyser - Adams Webb
-
If he looks at us as a chance to be a top 2 guy, getting all the ice time he wants and eventually getting the money he wants, we should be high on his list. I think hecould step right in this season and take a spot from someone. He would be a great compliment to Green. I doubt Kenny will call them though, He does like his team where it's at. Unfortunately for us... If we could just rid ourselves of Kronwall and Ericsson, their constant injuries, but loyal GM, are leaving us out of many opportunities to upgrade our D. If those two were gone, our D wouldnt be any worse and then we could seriously make a pitch to a player like Butcher. If our GM was agressive, he would, and then cut cap with a buyout or two or waivers or salary retention. Someone would take E for future considerations with retained salary.
-
If we could land this guy, it might just be worth waiver Sproul and Russo.
-
He's not very stealthy is he?

Here's a nice little bit.
